We stay here every time we visit our daughter at App St. Very convenient, clean, and best deal in Boone. Staff very friendly.

Very average. I was given a smoking room when i had booked non smoking. It took 2 hrs to eventually sort it out. That was a lot of inconvenience when you havw 2 children with you.

What you'd exoect from Motel 8. Staff great, Very friendly. Room met expectations. Free breakfast.

Front desk staff was exceptional. We thought the hotel was an excellent stay for the price we paid. Continental breakfast was great too. We have no complaints!

I reserved a non smoking room, when I got to my room at 10 pm, the room they gave me was the worst smelling room of smoke I have ever been in , I was lucky to find a hotel fifteen miles away that had only one room left or I would have slept in my car.

Excellent breakfast and location. Hotel is terribly understaffed ans not enough parking

The place was okay. Staff was very helpful. The place was kept clean.

The hotel is recommended for business or pleasure. Hotel staff very helpful.

Overall nice family friendly hotel. Basic and good for a trip to the mountains.

The pros are cost and friendly, helpful employees, and I felt the bed was comfortable (although my husband didn't ). The cons far outweighed the pros, unfortunately. This hotel seems to have had some upgrades in the lobby and maybe the breakfast area, a D it appears to be nice and clean, and theven cleaning staff appears to do a pretty good job, however, the rooms are in need of some upgrades, serious deep cleaning, and repairs. We had a non smoking 1st floor room and it smelled like a dirty foot. The maintenancean was extremely nice and came to spray a special odor eliminating spray on our carpets, but that was short lived and just masked the smell for a short while. I believe the stink is settled pretty securely in the filthy carpet that needs replacing. It was covered in stains and was sticky in spots and looked as though it had endured thousands of frat parties. The t.v. could use an upgrade as well, as it is an old fashioned box style. But no biggie. The channel list listed HBO, but when we tried to turn it to those stations it told us they were not stations available in the package. The refrigerator wasn't cold whatsoever, and neither was the freezer, and there was no dial to adjust it. It also reeked of some awful smell I cannot describe, but there was nothing left in it. The bathroom walls were FILTHY from floor to ceiling with all sorts of stains, and there was a pretty sufficient amount of mold growing down the corner of the wall where the toilet was.Pool FREEZING

This location is close to everything in the area but has a quiet feel.

Had stayed at this hotel several years ago and the room we had was pretty nice, which is why we chose this hotel again. We stayed this past weekend (March 5/6, 2016) and I was very surprised to see how outdated the room was that we were given. It was nothing like the room we had in past years. Everything was mismatched from the furniture to the bedspreads (which weren't clean) to the decor (curtains, art work). TV's were not updated. The beds were comfortable enough, but the worst part was the shower the next morning. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold. No in between. We will not stay here again. For the amount of money we spent I would have expected better.

I was in Boone visiting my daughter at Appalachian State University and this was the one place I found in my price range. Prices for hotels in Boone are high right now due to the fall colors, which were spectacular. I had stayed at the hotel before and didn't expect a 4 star experience. However, I did expect a flat screen TV in my room that had a decent picture. The TV wasn't flat screen and the picture wasn't very good. I had to drag a chair 3 feet from the TV before I could follow the action in a football game I wanted to watch. There was also an issue with the toilet that required me to open the tank and fix the flush mechanism almost every time I used it. In summary, it was an OK place to spend the night and it didn't break the bank. Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes during high season in Boone, if the budget is tight and you don't expect much.

Asked for another pillow and it smelled like they pulled it off someone elses bed. My room was next to the elevators which is never good. Only stayed 1 night though. Wi-fi didn't work in my room.

Very dog friendly. Pool temp is a little cool. a hot tub would be nice but not a necessity.

Had to wait an hour to check in. Checked in much later only to a room with no a/c. All hotel rooms were booked due to move in weekend at the local college, so had to stay. The staff was very nice though!

It was clean and comfortable. Very noisy pipes and thin walls.

We were in Boone to tour Appalachan State University. We were just 2 miles from the campus and it was an easy drive to our destination. We had a king size bed at a great price. Breakfast was a little limited as far as the fruit selection and yogurt flavors., just grapefruit and apples but overall it was good

room is clean. hotel is quiet. i stayed in this motel for one night on a ski trip. good sleep. breakfast is that great. that doesn't matter a lot to me.

The breakfast was great, staff was very nice and helpful, and the room was good. However, I reserved this hotel because it had an indoor pool that I thought we could enjoy. The pool was heated but it was still too cold to swim in. All of the kids in the pool were cold. This would be okay if there was a hot tub to warm up in but there was not.
