NH Bologna de la Gare4.0 out of 5.0

As most NH hotels this one is located very close to the train station and centre of the city. The rooms are very good size and well equipped. Complimentary water, fruit, etc. in reception was a nice touch. Staff very good but it did take is around 20 minutes to check in which was a little annoying. Overall we stayed her 2 nights and would stay again if back in Bologna.
One of the quietest hotels I've ever stayed in despite it's perfect location for the train and bus stations. You can get to Florence in 35 minutes on the fast train and you would pay far more to stay in Florence. I rate all the hotel facilities as very good, just make sure you get the room you've paid for - not a smaller room as I was first allocated (for the 2nd time in a month with NH).
Other reviews say it all really. I was disappointed having recently stayed in a couple of very nice NH hotels. Three of us had double rooms for single use and they were all rather dated though adequate for our needs.Breakfast choice was ok but again not on a par with Spanish NH. Good gluten free choices. Staff did recommend a really nice place to eat not too far away. Hotel about 15 minute stroll from main area but past lots of shops so quite an interesting walk ( if you like shops). Overall it was a good price so good value.
As hotels go, this one was good. It's a chain so you know what to expect. Good location. Friendly staff. Everything was very clean. The rooms are a little dated but that's no mind to me. I wouldn't rush back, but I now know I can trust the brand name to deliver.
Was stopping through Bologna as a tourist, so I'm probably not the target demographic for this hotel. Its location is pretty good in that its walking distance from both the train station and to the center of the city. The hotel is relatively clean and decent, with a nice lobby. The room itself though was not so great - quite small and the carpeting and bathroom seemed dated. Wifi is "free" though it is very slow and they make you pay for faster internet. Overall not the worst experience though, so not bad.
Stayed for three nights as part of a trip around Italy. Good location near to the station but not too close and at the end of the Main Street. Had booked a new style room based on other reviews on here however had the opportunity to upgrade to a junior suite on arrival so did that. Reception were helpful and friendly. Large room on the top floor with a huge terrace, separate dressing area and large bathroom. Slightly dated but very comfortable, a nice sanctuary to the four days of sweltering Bologna heat. Very quiet on the 5th floor due to limited suites up there and high up away from the quite busy road and square outside. Terrace would have really benefitted from some furniture and plants, was just paved. This could be a real selling point and asset. It was still nice to have but couldn't really use it. (It was too hot anyway!) Breakfast was good, great choice and plenty of it.
This NH Hotel do not reaches the standards we know from the chain of NH Hotels. The Standard rooms urgently need refurbishment and renovation. If you are not staying in a Room Deluxe you might want to think it twice. Some examples are, no electricity plugs next to the beds, only 1 electricity plug in the room + 1 in the bathroom, old style carpet, no ambience light in case one sleeps and the other person is still awake, the walls and paper wall needs maintenance, if you stay near the elevators, you can expect a lot of noice. Some positive things are that the staff is friendly and that you have air conditioning in the rooms. If you want to travel with the train to Modena or Florence, the location of the hotel is perfect, since it is about 5 minutes away walking from the rail main station.
We stayed in a family room, and found it nearly perfect. The room was pretty big with solid divider wall, one area with two single beds for adults, another with pull-out bed suitable for a child. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean and had a bathtub. There's a short walk from the train station; the walk to the city center is 10-15 minutes. WiFi is free. The only concern was that we sort of asked for a double bed and pull-out bed, but got two single beds and pull-out bed. The hotel website is rather confusing in that regard, and the pull-out bed would not be OK for two adults. You might want to directly contact reservations to check your preferences.
Great location.... airy, v clean & modern hotel - really good b'fast too...staff efficient- decent English & nicely positioned for main areas in Bologna- rooms have air con, nice bathroom & all in all, great for the price!! Recommend!! caow....
This hotel was everything we wanted from a long weekend in beautiful Bologna. Location, perfect. Close to the train station and bus stop. The walk in to town under the arches is a wonderful experience. It doesn't take long and the shops on the way (and back on the other side) are to die for! Plenty to see and do in the centre and loads of restaurants to choose from. Room was comfortable, clean, functional and cool. Breakfast excellent. Loads of fresh fruit as well as bacon, eggs, ham and cheeses. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel and would stay again if we get the chance to visit beautiful Bologna.
