Look the place is clean and nice to stay in. But they found out we used the air con a bit during the day. They came into our room looking for the remote and took it and turned off our unit from outside. We confronted them and they said you don't need air con open a window. Are you serious ? It was 30 degrees and so hot and humid. I paid alot to stay here. My kids couldnt sleep we couldn't sleep. Don't stay here if you want cooling... stay somewhere else. Rude rude rude rude and I can't believe you entered my room to steal a air con remote. How tight are you?
Room was in a great location - very central. But that's the only positive i can give this hotel. Room was far too hot and no way to control the temperature. For the cost i found the room very basic and the bed very uncomfortable. The hotel was also v noisy - relaxing in my room in the morning and later in the evening you could hear everything outside in the corridors. I have to say i probably wouldn't stay in this hotel again.
Metropolitan hotel is truly an amazing hotel. I stay here every year when I come to Bologna, Italy and it feels like a second home. The staff is very responsive to questions and to any needs. The owners every year reinvest in making the hotel more attractive and comfortable. I highly recommend the Metropolitan Hotel on any ones visit to Bologna.
This hotel has a perfect location to access the centre of Bologna. Room was perfect for our needs with fresh towels everyday and we had excellent night's sleep. Breakfast was a joy with so much choice. Reception area very clean and helpful staff giving us good recommendations of restaurants. We fell in love with Bologna and will definitely return to hotel Metropolitan again!
We asked for a double bed as I was travelling with my son. When we got there it was a small room with basically one queen bed which could be apart and makes two single bed. But we expected to have two queen beds for the price which was around $500. I spoke with the front desk and he was nice and change my room for the rest of our stay in a room with one single bed and one queen size bed. Location was great as it was located right in the centre of Bologna with easy access to the train station and everything in and around the town all within walking distance.
My husband and I stayed for one night here and whilst the rooftop terrace was lovely (especially the friendly barman) and the location was very convenient for the city, the room was disappointing. We were located quite near to the lift which was noisy during the night, and with no carpets in the rooms we found we could hear a lot of noise from other rooms. The air con didn't work and the bathroom had an unpleasant smell. To be fair, we didn't complain as it was only one night so the hotel was not given a chance to make amends, but all in all I expected more for what we paid.
Located right in the centre of Bologna with easy access to the train station and everything in and around the town all within walking distance On arriving to the hotel you may be a bit confused as to whether it’s a shop or a hotel due to the layout, decor and furnishings, but it is a hotel even if your first impressions are that it is a bit cold Our room on the first floor was very small and like reception a bit cold in appearance all white with only a strange choice of artwork, nice touch though in the room is a fridge and we also had a small balcony. Watch the price of the items in the fridge, very expensive. First night was very noisy, noisy neighbours, banging doors, loud talking being able hear people walking down the stairs to reception, so got very little sleep and waken early so asked to be moved to a quieter room which in fairness to the hotel they did in reacting to our complaint quickly and effectively, moving us up to the forth floor which was much quieter where we were able got a better night sleep for the rest of the trip, a slightly bigger room but a very small balcony Plus for the hotel is the 5th floor terrace which has lovely sun set views over the city On a minus point breakfast is very expensive and not worth the money go out and enjoy the great coffee shops that Bologna have to offer for a fraction of the price
We only spent one night in Bologna, and it was a highlight of our time in Italy. It was a wonderful city, with amazing food, and a lack of tourists...which was a plus. I think that Bologna is an overlooked city, and I am happy we had the recommendation to stay here. The Hotel Metropolitan was a great stop for one night, and the front desk gave great dining recommendations. Will definitely make plans to return to Bologna.
Very nice and comfortable hotel, just minutes walk from the main square of Bologna. Rooms were comfortable and clean, albeit a little on the small side. Though we did book run of house, I am sure there are bigger rooms availble. We fell in love with Bologna from the minute we arrived. It is a magical city, not overrun by tourists. Highly recommend a trip to Bologna, and a stay at the Metropolitan. Rates were very affordable for our 2 night stay. We should have had longer.
