A beautiful hotel very near the center of the city. Staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. They have a beautiful terrace on the top floor with a magnificent view of Bologna and a bar. The rooms are very modern and contemporary with everything you need. Their breakfast buffet is very good.
I Was very happy with my stay here. The hotel is spotless. The breakfast is very good and varied and the breakfast room is bright and clean. The location is great, it is off a side street close to the historic centre. Some nice restaurants close by. It was very quiet and we slept well. I would return again in the futrue,
Nice hotel and friendly staff, however room size / bed arrangement could have been better. Good location and a nice quiet area. Breakfast good as well with a wide variety. Bathroom large and spacious, however a new shower-head would make the shower a lot better
Quiet, tasteful, excellent service, charming boutique hotel in nice neighborhood near center. Advantage of small and quiet, combined with moderate price. Avoid the crowds and impersonal of the chain hotels.
A very friendly family business and very professional, in an excellent quiet location close to all the major sites. Breakfast a bit too full of carbs for my liking. Good downstairs sitting areas, with magazines and free wi-fi. Beds a bit hard - as everywhere in Italy.
The hotel is located in a side quite street very few minutes walking from the busy street in central Bologna. The room was very clean and the breakfast delicious with good variety of typical continental breakfast. The stuff at the hotel was very polite, kind, friendly and helpful in case of need. I strongly recommend because it will not be a disappointment !! Thanks to all the stuff at the Hotel Touring for the warm welcome you gave to us !
Very good, quiet location. 10-12 min walk to Piazza Maggiori and 2 min to bus stop in Via Garibaldi where you can also enjoy a few cosy bars and restaurants, a small Coop supermarket etc. Had booked “Gold urban room” with balcony (and one jacuzzi tour incl.) on 4th floor. But the room happened to be very small and the balcony tiny. Not ideal for a two-night stay in 36-37 C. We asked for another room and changed to a similar room category on 3rd floor. Room slightly bigger and with a large, covered terrace with views to the old tiled rooftops. Excellent! Only nuisance was a big noisy ventilator right next to the terrace door streaming hot air directly on the terrace in the evening when it was still above 30’s. Room OK decorated, very small desk and cupboard with four shelves. Minibar and safety box. Small bathroom, functional with stoarge space and nice shower cabin. A/C not super functional but worked. Wifi annoying as you need to currently log in. Also it didn’t really work on the room terrace. Stairs covered with old carpets. Breakfast room in basement is not a place where you want to stay too long but it works. Combined with small outdoor area, mainly for smokers, no serving. Decent breakfast, above average for Italy. Very nice roof terrace with jacuzzi and great views. Seems fair to charge an access fee which is 10€ for residents, 15€ for non-residents. Could be a bit more discounted for residents. Friendly front desk service but printing of e.g. boarding cards costs 2€ per print!
We arrived at The Touring to be asked if we would like to upgrade to a newly decorated room for an extra 30 euros per night. We decided we would, and we're very happy that we did. Everything was new including the bed which I have to say was the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Very efficient air con too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved the whole hotel and it was spotlessly clean. If I had any negatives I would say the breakfast wasn't anything special, but it wouldn't put me off staying there again
Exelent location, exelent service, exelent breakfast , exelent top roof... nice rom with all you need. My hotel next time in BOLOGNA for sure. They also have a small bar in lobby and a lot of space outside in the " garden" for sit down for a morning coffe or a late drink.
A recent reviewer of this hotel says to check out the negative reviews before making your mind up. I would say the same. I'm not a complainer and I'm not precious but this hotel was a real disappointment for the price we paid. 1. The bathroom drains stank. Absolutely stank of old cabbage, to the point where you'd reel when walking into the room. Using the bathroom extractor fan and the room's air con helped a bit but i suspect it was more that our noses just got used to it. 2. Beds weren't very comfy. 3. Tightness. The breakfast buffet was just about average - a few of the pastries/cake/breads were stale, burnt coffee, lots of cheap quality items. We needed to print flight boarding passes and were told it was 2 euros per side of paper! The teabags in the hotel room weren't replaced after the first day. Only one chair provided in a twin room (though to be fair they did provide another when we asked). 4. The rooftop bar. Fair enough it's a bar so you expect to pay something - we were going to go up and have a nice drink at sunset. But it turns out there's a whopping minimum spend so we just walked out. This is nothing short of a con and leaves a really bad taste, especially when you're a paying guest. My advice would be to walk up to the Giardini Margherita ten minutes away and get a better view for free. 5. Internal noise insulation is not great - at night you can hear a lot of doors banging, guests coming and going, things clanging and ticking. This wasn't a disastrous stay and there were some positives. The service was friendly and professional, everything was spotlessly clean and the hotel was well located down a quiet back street but near everything you'd want to see (check out mummified Saint Catherine in the church round the corner!) Overall, though, I'm convinced there must be better places to stay in Bologna in this price range.
