Spotlessly clean and comfortable boutique hotel with charming, friendly owners and staff. Four of us based ourselves here for the rugby in Rome. We were very well looked after and would definitely come again. Here's a rare view of a snowy Bologna from the hotel sun terrace.

We came around Christmass with our 3 months baby. The location could hardly be more central (5min walking from Piazza Maggiore), but still in a calm street. The rooms are as advertized (beds are quite big for Italy) and clean. Wifi is good. The highlight of the hotel is its staff. They do everything they can to make your stay pleasant, help you with whatever they can and are very friendly. I would for sure recommend if we come back in Bologna!

I was with a group of 6 ladies staying recently for 3 nights at the hotel. I had previously stayed in January 2015 so when we decided to visit in November I had no hesitation in recommending Hotel Touring to this group of friends. The staff were fantastic, particularly Manuela who was so helpful sorting out our accommodation, and the lovely Valentina on reception, but in fact everybody is so very charming, and nothing is too much trouble. Everything was spotlessly clean, the breakfast fantastic, and the location perfect. My friends were really happy and all of us would stay at the hotel should we return to Bologna, it's just perfect.

We stayed at the Hotel Touring for three nights and had a wonderful stay. The staff were welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb. It's a couple of minutes walk to main piazza and is surrounded by nice restaurants. The perfect place to stay when you visit Bologna.

Lovely boutique hotel! Nice size room with a lovely bath and all things provided! Kettle to make a cup of tea in the room! Very pleasant and helpful staff! Breakfast was delicious! There is a beautiful roof terrace where you can have 360° wonderful view of the city! Excellent position right i. The centre!

Enjoyed our 3 nights at the Hotel Touring, which is in the city center, but away from the hustle and bustle. A bit pricey, but clean, quiet and staff was friendly/helpful. Great shower and bathroom fixtures.

Great little hotel tucked away in an alley on the quieter side of town. A quick walk to anywhere. Ulta-clean with modern appointments and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The lobby is welcoming and the roof deck is tremendous even though we were there in December. The biggest plus is the breakfast which is included. Not the usual Italian pastry and caffe. Had everything from traditional eggs and sausage (Italian style) to fresh ricotta, prosciutto, mortadella, cheeses, breads - too much!

We selected this hotel based on the TA reviews. It does come at a price and you need to select your room carefully to fully enjoy your experience here. Here are our opinions on some of the essentials from any hotel. Location: - Everywhere in Bologna itself is within fairly easy touch of the airport with Hotel Touring being no exception. It’s a taxi ride away or a hop on the ‘Aerobus’ and then walking (more on that later). The hotel is tucked away in a side street just far enough away to be quiet but it’s only a 10-minute stroll into the central areas. Just down the road is a Coop minimart. We stayed in a ‘standard’ room and this will be the subject of this review. Quiet room: - Our standard room was quiet. Very quiet. It can also best be described as compact meaning that some items were stored on the floor. Our particular room also was also sadly lacking in daylight. Thankfully we were out a lot so it wasn’t too big an issue. There are slightly larger rooms available judging by pictures I saw within reviews but you will pay significantly more for these. Air-conditioning/Room temperature: - Yes but not required in November where it was often fairly cool/cold outside. There was a radiator in the bedroom with a responsive thermostatic valve to just keep the room at the correct temperature. There was also a heated towel rail in the bathroom which appeared to be always on but that was not set too high. Wi-Fi: - We had free included Wi-Fi. The password was supplied to us in the room. Annoyingly you had to keep re-connecting every time you came back to your room. The Wi-Fi signal was good. Comfortable bed / pillows. A simple yet very comfortable bed and pillows. We had some good sleeps here. Hairdryer: - Yes. On the wall in the shower room. No complaints from my wife so it must have been ok. Plastic Shower Cap: - Yes. One happy wife. Toiletries provided: - Small bottles of shampoo and a bar of soap. That was it. No shower gel supplied in the standard room. It may be different in the superior rooms. Shower: - Good plentiful hot water. Nothing special but did everything you could want from a shower. Ours had a curtain around it which was a bit of a faff and resulted in some water occasionally getting onto the floor. Safe: - Yes. Tea/Coffee making facilities: - None supplied in the standard room. Bring your own kettle. We asked at reception to loan a kettle but they could not do this for whatever reason. However, they were happy to supply hot water from reception which just meant you had to go get it yourself. Breakfasts: - Very nice breakfasts and much better than I have experienced in some other places in Italy. Coffee was from a machine and on my one experience it was a bit ropey tasting. However, I asked the attentive staff who were more than glad to knock up an expresso, a pot of hot water and some milk to make a delicious Americano. Really nice and a breakfast to look forward to. Eateries Nearby: - Nothing is too far away from Hotel Touring being only 10 minutes’ walk into the central areas. Our particular favourite place to eat was ‘Il Calice’ nearer the centre where we enjoyed some lovely food with great staff to look after you. Nearer to the hotel for a lighter bite try the small bar on the corner of via Garibaldi and via Marsili (not sure of the name) where we had a warm welcome, nice coffee and some light snacks (often free as long as you bought a couple of drinks). To the left of this café is Caffe' San Domenic where we ate on our very first night which is currently #1163 on TA and there is a reason for that. Best avoided. As the Italian foodie capital then prices can reflect this, but good value places can still be found. Fridge: - There was a small fridge supplied which also acted as a small mini bar. There was water in the fridge but this was not complimentary. There was enough spare space to store some of your own items. The airport is not far away from Bologna Centre and the easiest options are to take a taxi or the Aerobus. We chose the latter as it was the cheapest option and we didn’t mind walking at the other end. Follow the signs for the bus as you leave the airport. There is 1 large red ticket machine outside to purchase your tickets from (which had a long queue when we arrived). There are however 3 further machines just inside the airport doors which few seemed to be aware of. It was easy to buy our two tickets and get change too. They cost about 6 Euro’s each. The bus journey takes about 20-25 minutes and the nearest point to the hotel is the town centre. If you see shops, then get off the bus there. If you hesitate (as we did) then you will end up the Central Train station where you really do need to get off otherwise you will be heading back to the airport. The train station is on the opposite side of the town to Hotel Touring but easy on foot, if walking is not an issue for you. In summary, we ended up enjoying our stay at Hotel Touring but I wouldn’t say we ended up loving our hotel. We had issues at first with our cramped room and my wife said to me on day one that she was made to feel like a second class citizen when she enquired about loaning a kettle for use in our room. It was most likely a language misunderstanding but I knew what she meant and it got our holiday off to a bad start. For the rest of our stay though we found the staff to be friendly, helpful and informative. We would consider staying here again but I will also be looking around at alternatives next time as I felt we could probably get better value for money.

personnel really nice and at the same time professional. location excellent for visiting the centre. a cosy hotel. breakfast rich with variety. the view from the roof terrace excellent and relaxing. it worth to pay it a visit

The hotel is new, charming, have an attentive staff and, a very confortable bed. It is quiet, well located (not in the middle of the tustic points but very close to) and has a great breakfast. If you need a parking lot, they have it (charged). All very good. If you add the price, it becomes excellent. Attention: it even admits dogs in the breakfast restaurant.
