generally good ,but we were given a dark room across the road, which has two doors to unlock and o pens onto a main street .Asking for abetter room ,we were charged an EXTRA 200 euro for 2 nights.Staff were generally good but very busy.
Horrible experience!! Needed to change date of one night stay, hotel had availability but wouldn't work with us. Emailed and hung up on us when we phoned, even though we were very polite with them. So, they kept our $$, we couldn't stay. Only time we ever had this type of experience with people.
We stayed in the renovated room on the third floor with a small balcony. The room was nice, not big, face to a small street, not noisy. The towels and linen were good quality, clean, no spots. This is 3 star hotel so everything was very simple, no decoration in the room but it has all the we needed. There is a rooftop terrace bar with lovely view butthey don't serve breakfast on the top. The breakfast was exellent! It has eggs, pancakes, yougurt, big choice of bakery, fruit, ham, cheese... The staff of the hotels was very friendly, helpful and warm. I had the feeling that they are our friends. I would recomment this hotel a lot!
Hotel is a five minute walk from the centre with many good bars and restaurants nearby. It is quiet at night. Our room was rather small and had a shower, no bath. The bed was rather firm but we slept well. The breakfasts are very good. The TV and wifi work well.
We visited Hotel Touring in the beginning of May, for five nights. Originally we booked a basic double room, but on arrival decided that we would prefer to have a little bit more space and a view. The first room was clean and had everything you need, but it did feel very small and a bit dark, due to being so low down. For the second night we moved to fourth floor, had a balcony and a view! The General size of the room was very similiar to the first one, but the balcony did give us an area we could use as a "sitting room". We did pay a supplement for the second room. The hotel has used the available space very well, bathroom very modern and spacious. The rain shower is great but could do with a little more pressure, washing hair took quite long. The breakfast was included and there was a lot to choose from. Scrambled egg and bacon and sausages, etc. And the usual serials, youghurts, cut meat and fantastic strawberries and kiwifruit. So plenty! The breakfast room was light and very well laid out. I think the lift weight limit may need checking, limit was 320kg, and it would not take four people, we were the heavies but the two young ladies did not weigh over 60kg, so not above 320kg! So it did sometimes take a while to get to the fourth floor as only two people could use the lift at the time.
This hotel is adequate for those traveling on a budget. But, it's missing a few things that may matter to travelers. It's hard for travelers to know about these things before they book. The hotel WILL NOT turn on air conditioning even if it is a hot night. I traveled during a warm spring season and the room was stuffy and hot. According to their schedule, it was not time to turn on the cooling, so clients were left uncomfortable. There is no dresser to unpack clothes in the room. There is a luggage carrier so living out of the suitcase is required. I'm sorry for the two star review...I suspect that other hotels in this price range will be just as limited...but I think potential travelers should know of these shortcomings.
We had read that this hotel had a roof terrace with 360 degree views over the city roof tops. We called in and asked if we could have a coffee on the terrace. The receptionist explained the terrace bar wasn't yet open but she obliged by making us a coffee which we took up to the 5th floor terrace. Had it all to ourselves, enjoyed the views and took our piccies . Very helpful and a good vibe in this hotel. And with its central location I reckon this would be a good choice of hotel. But do checkout the terrace!
Positive - great location, clean, stunning view from the rooftop terrace, tasty breakfast included in room rate. Not so sure - one person on reception trying to help everyone at once, noisy (could hear other guests), slightly complicated key system. Overall a good hotel - and Bologna is a great city.
This place is ideally situated in old Bologna. Had a family suite which we took advantage of (however, only allowed 4 per room, and we had 5, so we had to get a second room...which always adds up). Staff was super kind and helpful. Delicious spread for breakfast. View from rooftop can't be beat, but there's no real bar service up there, you need to purchase your own from the first floor and bring it up. Since that's sort of pricey, I'd suggest buying your own wine & snacks & having a little sunset picnic up there. Bummer that the highest tower in Bologna that we wanted to climb is down for renovations through July 2017. But it's such a rich, lovely city. Eat off the beaten path for the best food and deals.
The hotel is lovely: recently renovated, well-designed and very clean. The staff were fantastic – we felt genuinely appreciated as guests. In particular, Irene was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The location is perfect: close to the old town centre and easy to walk everywhere, but out of the busy tourist area. Lots of good restaurants nearby. On any future trip to Bologna we will definitely stay here again.
