Excellent dinner and service. Had dinner on the deck. This is a high class operation in both food and service. We recommend The Barn for anyone seeking a special place for dinner. Wine list was excellent though somewhat limited.

I’ve stayed choice here and both times have been just a joy The staff is super courteous and very helpful and the rooms are well appointed and very comfortable You cannot beat the view while sitting on the lawn in an Adirondack chair with a drink

We stayed in the Barn. The apartment was spacious and adequate but for the price I would have expected more. For example, some windows were missing screens and the hardware in the bathroom was loose. If the price was lower, I wouldn't have been disappointed but the rates are high. The view though is unbeatable.

This is the best view on the Block. It 's not like Ballard's which attracts anyone off the boat. It is a SPECIAL spot that is worth visiting. It comes with a pricier drink and food menu, but it s worth it for the ambiance.

Our visit to Block Island and the Springhouse was precipitated by a family reunion on the island. We chose to stay at the Springhouse with our son, daughter in law and their 3 year old toddler and infant son. All was well until Martini Night. We were astounded by the crowds of raucous partygoers, and the amount of noise generated throughout the property. Unfortunately the management had not considered the location of our son's family's room and placed them at the top of the main staircase! It was a horrible night for all. I was told by the management that Martini Night is well advertised. That may be true, but unless you have experienced it, you could never come close to imagining it. All I am suggesting is that the management needs to be MINDFUL of the families who choose to stay there, and accommodate them accordingly.

Soooo we love the Spring House hotel. We always stay at Motts on the property. It was recently renovated too. No problems with our hotel stay. But we ate at the restaurant on martini night. The hotel hosts a martini night every Thursday. We were seated outside and the people who were showing up for the martini night festivities were also sitting at the tables. They weren't eating but drinking. They were also loud, rude, smoking pot, swearing and it was tolerated. All the staff ignored the people on the terrace who were in full blown party mode by 8pm. Our service was terrible. The server was throwing our dishes and silverware on the table like it was a cafeteria. Annoyed that weren't rushing through our meal..which we couldn't do because it took forever to get our food. Plus, our food was burnt. Served just about black. I was so disappointed. Beyond disappointed. We were planning to go to martini night but I was so disgusted by the people who were going to be there we just all went our rooms. I need to say that we love a good party and appreciate a fun night out but when is it appropriate to serve a $300-400 dinner to people while allowing drunks who might as well be in a biker bar to sit right to them???? I am sure that if we ate at the restaurant any other evening it would have been a different experience. I am sure of it. This review is really a suggestion that the hotel should not serve dinner past 8pm on a Thursday night. It doesn't reflect the high quality of a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location.

You can’t beat the outside deck seating and views, but the food was just Ok. Shrimp 🍤 was good, ahi tuna on Caesar salad and bacon wrapped scallops could have been cooked better. Worth a try...pizza 🍕 from surrounding tables looked and smelled good.

Went to Spring House for the first time ever and it was amazing!! Had the scallops wrapped in bacon and deviled eggs for starters, then the pasta and clams and a special for entrees. Everything was great. Sat outside and our server Danielle was simply awesome. She was on point from start to finish. Friendly and attentive. After lunch we finished our drinks on the chairs on the lawn. Definitely get there if you are on the island. Only a quarter mile up from the boat. Get there and ask for Danielle. Ya won't be disappointed.

This is a gorgeous, historic hotel that is a great spot for a cocktail or coffee on the lawn, but our experience staying at the hotel was disappointing. My family of 4 spent several nights in the Barn, the newest property. In spite of how new it is, we ran into several "technical difficulties" with the unit and the barn itself. Our one shower did not work consistently--the water would shut off suddenly, then turn again...repeatedly. I even took a video of it to show the staff, but for some reason the problem never got fixed, even after two complaints. Throughout our stay the keys repeatedly stopped working and needed to be replaced (requiring multiple trips to the front desk each day.) While this was an inconvenience, it wasn't as bad as the smoke alarm battery dying at 3am...again, bad luck, except it was HOURS before they sent someone to fix it. Each I brought these issues to the attention of the staff, they apologized, but did not recognize that these issues shouldn't have happened in the first place, nor did they make any gesture to try and make up for the problem. We were charged the full price for our stay, even though we didn't have a fully functioning shower for the entire trip. I asked multiple times to speak to Kevin, the manager, and even left my cell phone so he could call me at his convenience. I never heard back. Very disappointing customer service. My advice: come for the view and find another island hotel to stay the night.

My wife and I stayed at Spring House on three very hot days in July, and we were very pleased to be in a hotel with the best ocean views and because it is on the top of a hill, ocean breezes that made sitting outside quite comfortable. There is no elevator, but staff willingly carried luggage up the stairs for us. We had a quite spacious third floor room with a king-sized bed and a small couch which was more than adequate, but it was not possible to open the three windows and keep them latched. There was a newly renovated shower area, but inadequate trays for soap and shampoo, etc. So, I would have liked to give this hotel five stars, I had to downgrade it to four because of the need for repairs.
