First stay at this hotel, all aspects of my stay was good, room was clean & comfortable with good facilities, staff friendly & helpful, Pitchside restaurant very good & room service fast & good quality. Would recommend without hesitation
This was my second stay here on business. Excellent level of service from everybody particularly the barman in the Terrace Bar. Really quiet room and comfortable bed. Will certainly stay here again when I'm working in the area. Would give it six stars if I could!! Not often I'd say that about a hotel.
Stayed overnight last weekend on a non-match day, so parking was plentiful. Warmly greeted at reception and at check-in given warm chocolate cookies - a nice touch. We had a non-pitchside room, the bed was very comfortable and the shower hot. Unfortunately on the night of our stay, there were people running up and down the corridor at 2am. Would advise anyone staying here to take ear plugs! This aside, I found this hotel warm and welcoming and fantastic value for money. A superb £10 breakfast set us up for the day ahead. This was served in the Pitchside restaurant - a slightly surreal experience with the MK Dons players walking in and out. You are more than welcome to exit the eating area to view the ground. My wife who isn't a football fan found this most compelling.
This is now my fourth time at this quality hotel. The wi fi is strong and consistent, rooms modern and comfortable. There’s tea making facilities and a fridge too. Tried the terrace bar which was cold, empty and uninviting. £72 for such a good room including breakfast is good value . Check in was fast and efficient.
We decided to stay at this hotel as we were attending a wedding. We arrived and were very impressed. The hotel was slightly confusing to navigate around but the rooms were absolutely lovely, very clean and comfortable. The hotel is also well located next to restaurants and shops. We stayed for two nights and loved it. Would definitely come back!
Its attached to the MK Dons stadium which I was aware of, and on match day can be an issue to park, there is a security man with a guest list who checks you off against it to park - needless to say I wasn't on the list so had to be assertive to park! Rooms are average, look quite dated compared with other hotels, but are clean and have comfortable beds. Wifi needs a lot of information before you get it for free, so persevere! My room was opposite a lounge used by the spectators on the third floor, lots of noise with staff using the kitchen facilities opposite, so no peace during daytime. On site gym is good standard with very good equipment.
Unless you knew what to look for, you wouldn't have a clue. Is this a hotel disguised as a sports stadium? Or a retail park disguised as a football ground with a hotel? Pass. The reception area is big and spacious, with a collection of seated areas. Not that you'd want to though, it's more a conference arrival hall versus a welcoming hotel. I was there to attend a conference and dinner event. In that respect the facilities were good, clean lined and super spacious. The check-in process was ridiculously poor. A long queue with very few people manning the reception and, of those, two were there doing something but certainly not working on checking guests in. What's worse, and a really sensitive point for me, no acknowledgement of the people hopelessly waiting for service. Bad start. No amount of warm cookies can make up for that. The rooms are modern, well kitted out and spacious. Depending on your personal likes, you could find it a little cold and clinical. Bearing in mind this hotel is built as part of a sports stadium, you could find yourself walking a very long way to your room. That's something to be mindful of. My room was on the opposite side of the stadium, as far from reception as you can get. Wherever you go from there, it's a long haul. The bar/ grill area is spacious and comfortable but the bar is small and, as part of a large group, the waiting time was excessive. We also used the terrace bar. This is a nice feature. The outside terrace is enclosed at the sides (as a result of the building design) but open air and spacious with good seating. The choice of drinks is limited. The grill is also used as the breakfast area. The buffet breakfast choice was good. I can't comment on the dinner menu or quality of the food since dinner was part of the event. If it was at all possible, checkout was worse than check-in. A long queue, one person working with a trainee riding shotgun, a total lack of urgency and again no acknowledgement. There was one other person doing something with a computer but had no interest in addressing guests. I suggested to the only working member of staff that asking for help would be a good idea. The response? "Well there isn't anyone but you can approach me now if you wish". Sorry, consider me scolded. There is a very evident problem with staff and attitude in this hotel. It's noticeable and it's uncomfortable. From what I experienced and observed guests are just an inconvenience. The 2017 Trip Advisor certificate of excellence must have been justified. If it's for the amenities and quality of finish, I can understand it. But I'd suggest it's not for service levels. This hotel deserves to be better than it actually is.
Free wifi requires ridiculous levels of sign in to get it working. Staff are rude and clearly not enough of them. The rooms are kitted out well. All spoilt by a lack of service. Check out is a nightmare. They can't print receipts out and I was told I'd have a receipt emailed. Still waiting. The customer survey has come through. So priorities clearly wrong in this hotel.
What can I say? I've stayed in rubbish and I've stayed in luxury - this hotel is great with everything you need for a business trip. Exceptionally clean, great staff and superb food. Whilst I wouldn't say it was luxurious, I'd say that it is definitely at the upper end of the scale! A bit pricey? I think you get what you pay for based on my experience at this hotel!
I have previously reviewed Double Tree by Hilton, MK Stadium, as a place we enjoy staying so much we regard it as a home from home. This hotel is built into the MK Stadium which gives it a unique (in my experience) 360 degree architecture. To appreciate its structure you have to go to level 4 where you not only get a pitch view but you can walk the complete circuit of that floor back to where you started. It is in an excellent location with the MK1 Shopping and Leisure Park a few metres away, with a number of Stores, restaurants and a Cinema complex. Milton Keynes City Centre with its Centre MK shopping area boasting 100s of High Street shops under one roof, is less than 10 minutes away by car; and the Milton Keynes Central Railway Station is also less than 10 minutes drive away (via the A5). The staff are great and very helpful; the rooms are clean and very comfortable; and the Fitness Centre is modern and very well equipped.
