Had dinner at the weekend the new carvery was amazing. Plenty of choice and great value €10 for any main course and tea or coffee. We got the family deal which was €30 for 2 adults and my 2 kids such amazing value. Staff so helpful and place spotless with amazing views. Will definitely be back and letting friends and family know

I first went to The Avon for my sister-in-law's hen weekend in February 2019 and I was so impressed I booked my own hen weekend there. I cant say one bad thing, the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing, both breakfast and dinner. We had so much fun doing the activities (archery and air rifle shooting) the instructors were great. We stayed in two houses which both slept 10 people, had at least three bathrooms and a full kitchen. All in all I cant say enough good things about The Avon and the staff there,Shona and Laura in particular were amazing all weekend. I cant recommend The Avon enough and I will definitely be going back.

Bar staff are indeed young, but friendly. Service was prompt and I ordered the burger. Food arrived in a time I would hope, not too soon and not too long. Burger had a lovely flame grilled taste to it. Would highly reccomend it. If possible drop the cheese board that the burger comes on and the chips which arrive in a wire basket. A warmed plate would be preferential. Otherwise A1. Apartment is standard, nice finish, clean and spacious. Laminated Instructions on coffee table are there for a reason so read them. Gives details on wifi, couldn't get it to work but there's 4G so not bothered. Info on heating and hot water, again important. TV is old, not smart could do with upgrade otherwise no complaints.

After several disappointing visits I actually don’t know where to start. From the disorganized service, dirty indoor seats, filthy floors, lack of vegetarian selection, poor quality over priced food and staff that couldn’t care less. My 4 year old makes better pizzas! I nearly (probably should have) passed these comments to a couple beside us doing their wedding tasting last week. Please get some older experienced staff that actually want your business to survive, upgrade your food and menu and rethink the bar layout.i genuinely want to support local businesses but at the moment the extra distance to the Ballymore is worth it

I live locally to the Avon and visit there every second week with my family. Every time is a disappointment but you still get drawn back for the views. It has always been manned by young inexperienced disorganised staff. Even with recent change in ownership/management this has not changed. The service in the bar is atrocious with no manger taking charge. Even on a quiet day there will be dirty dishes left on tables. The food, (if you can handle the “Fawlty towers” service) is not worth the money. On my recent visit I had a rib eye steak which had been marinated overnight. I asked for medium and thought I’d lose a tooth eating it. My wife’s chips arrived 10 minutes before her pizza. I could go on and on. I will still go back for a drink looking over the lake but forget about the food, too many let downs. seriously Avon, sort it out. Start training your staff and maybe incentivising them somehow.

Myself and my 'Husband' got married in The Avon on the 27th July 2019 - it was absolutely amazing, the views were breathtaking, the staff were lovey and very accommodating, could not recommended The Avon enough - thank you so much! Sabrina & Niall

we stayed there for a wedding and found out hat it was self cgtering in the evening when we needed hot water. no shampoo and no soap and no hot water unless you turn it on and your not told about this at all. so in the morning when you really needed a shower no hot water. i think this is why it so reasonably at 65 per per on per night. television didn't work and no tea coffee or milk clean and tidy but wouldn't recommend it at all wouldnt stay ether again ever

Stayed here with my partner and newborn baby. We had dinner in the restaurant it was gorgeous. Especially the BBQ chicken wings. I had a coffee and my partner had pints of Heineken. We sat downstairs towards the back so we were looking right out onto the lake/ mountains a truly beautiful view. The staff were very courteous especially Laura who recommended different options on the menu. The accommodation was perfect we had a great sleep, the grounds were peaceful and quiet! the next morning we made our own fry up breakfast all the utensils were there to make a good breakfast. We couldn’t fault anything really. Will be recommending to our friends.

Myself, my partner our child and the parents in law stayed here last night. It was a lovely stay. The friendliness of the staff was a match for the breath taking scenery. We had a quick walk by the lake and came back up to the restaurant for food. The food was very tasty with a nice selection of dishes. (The Chicken Chorizo burger was mouth watering) The staff were so friendly and didn’t rush us out after our food, so we chilled for a while. We went back to our accommodation and it was very clean and cosey. Rooms are very big and comfy beds . Would definitely come back again.

Myself and my wife had a small lovely wedding lunch at The Avon. The staff were very accommodating in arranging a lunch which would suit our small party size and needs. We booked their lovely library room which has beautiful views of the Blessington lakes and Wicklow mountains. When we arrived were were pleasantly surprised by how much effort the staff made to make the venue look it's best with table arrangement, place setting and ornaments. We'd arranged a drinks reception with scones on arrival. For lunch they printed lovely menus and the food which they served was fantastic, they even catered to a few off menu diets. We'd agreed with management to exclude a desert in favour of a cake which we brought ourselves. They made a fantastic job of setting up the cake on a lovely display table and later with cutting and serving the cake. Everyone commented on how great the venue, food and staff were. We'd highly recommend having an event at The Avon.
