I'm very surprised that Gracelands has an overall Hotels.com rating of 9 (I can only guess that the reviews were from guests who were in an en-suite and/or had a plentiful supply of toiletries in their room.
For some reason my four night booking (single room, not en-suite) came as a surprise to staff when I turned up on the doorstep (I had to wait half an hour to occupy my room which I was understanding about). The room was basic but comfortable, although the window could not be closed. The breakfast was fine. Both of the staff members I met were pleasant people.
The two shared toilets were not very clean, and neither hd a hand basin which was off-putting/unhygienic. I had to ask for some soap for the hand basin in my room on arrival. What I never got despite raising the matter was toiletries to use in the shower (thank God for that mini bar of soap!).
It is very rare for me to leave a negative review (possibly never) but as a paying guest staying for four nights I expect at least the basics to be satisfied. It's not pleasant visiting the shared toilet to do a 'you know what', not being able to wash your hands as you then venture down the corridor to jump in the shower to get the 'undercarriage' etc. clean to discover there's nothing available but water!
I won't be returning.
