This hotel is actually a low income apartment complex! People live here full time. They stay up all night drinking and arguing. The beds are horrible, the pull out sofa unusable. My room had a horrible smell, the neighbors argued all night and wandered the parking lot at all hours! Got no sleep at all! Could be a good place, decent size room, re done kitchen area and sand volleyball court. Unfortunately the court is covered with dog feces and leaves, the kitchen was dirty I couldn't even make coffee! The coffee pot had while gritty residue in it. Gross! Stained very old carpet, filthy couch with stains and white stuff on it I couldn't even sit on the couch! overall gross! 1 star motel not a all suites resort!!! Do not recommend

Had reservations at Residence Inn by Marriott, 3 GreenHill Parkway in Birmingham AL. Went to check in yesterday, Sept 30 and found our from the front desk that it was no longer a Residence Inn. Marriott had sold the location last Tuesday Sept 26 and FAILED TO NOTIFY THE RESERVATION HOLDERS THAT THEY WOULD BE CHECKING IN TO A LOCATION UNAFFILIATED WITH MARRIOTT. Since we have never heard of Sonesta, we declined to stay. Then found out they had already cancelled our reservation for this date and a future date. WOW! MARRIOTT undoubtedly has some problems and issues at the top. Communication with rewards members and reservation holders would be at the top of their failure to communicate list!

This property has seen better days. Its worn. HWY 280 is a great location though. Our room sofa was stained and disgusting. We never sat on it. The sitting area doesnt have a TV, so I guess you would just sit and stare at the unusable fire place? The breakfast was blah but the gentleman in the area (bald) was a hard worker and cared about the guests. Pool needs to be refinished but the area is large.

The hotel is easy to find with everything you want around as far as stores and eateries, shopping. It is cute alpine kind of building, Pool very nice, clean and well maintained. Rooms are not at the same level as most Residence Inns in the country. It is clean, simple and staff is wonderful. We had 2 rooms, both rooms had couches that were broken with collapsed cushions, you sit on the springs. One of the beds had a broken collapsed mattress. Water pressure is great,Laundry room, washers very dirty. Breakfast very good, served with lots of tlc from staff. Our room attendant Carnel was amazing, very personable and made sure our needs were insulation between rooms you can hear everything indoors and in parking lots

This conveniently located group of suites was a great place to stay for a short trip. The best part about it was how spacious it was. Every room is equipped with a large couch and FULL kitchen. The bed was cozy, the hotel staff was very friendly, they provided a delicious free breakfast, everything worked, and it was CLEAN. The only disappointing part was the bathroom tub/toilet area; it was very outdated.

Older typical residence inn. StAff very friendly, exercise room very very small. We were upgraded to a room with two floors which was very nice although the loft was too hot to sleep in. Great location close to upscale shopping and dining areas. Would choose this one again.

Was in the area for a friend's funeral service, and stayed a few extra days to visit other friends. One of the nicest Marriott properties in which I have stayed. My room was nice and roomy with all of the Residence Inn amenities. Of particular note was the incredible staff, from the Manager to the grounds keepers. All were very friendly, courteous and helpful; appeared to be genuinely interested in customer satisfaction, not just me, but other guests as well. I was fortunate to be there when one of the evening complimentary meals was catered by The Superior Grill - outstanding, especially when coupled with some ice cold beer. Also close to The Summit. Definitely recommend this property to anyone for an overnight or longer stay.

Worst Marriott hotel I have ever stayed in...sheets had holes in them, bed ruffle had large rip in it, pull out couch bed frame was bent, carpet, doors, and lighting fixures were from the 70's. Kitchen had been updated and bathrooms were ok. Mattress and breakfast was good. I wouldn't stay here again and this was not a typical Marriott quality hotel. Very disappointed for the price.

The staff was very friendly. We have stayed at this property many times when we come to town. We love the space in this hotel and the location. We were going to the zoo, playing laser tag and some other activities in town. This was right in the middle of all of the things that we wanted to do. Plenty of food and shopping around us. The room was large enough for a few of our friends to come over. We had a great time and it felt like we were in our own apartment. The kitchen was awesome and helped us save money. The breakfast was delicious and I tried something new. I didn't care for the sea weed for I liked the adventure of trying it. I felt more healthy with it on my breakfast plate. I used the app to request some items for check in and they had them ready. I think the lady name was Tammy or Tamara. She was very helpful and had a great attitude.

There are some good things to say about this hotel. It is clean. It has a stove, a refrigerator, and a dishwasher if you plan to stay for a period of time. It was mostly quiet, but I could hear people upstairs talking and singing. The bed was comfortable. Although we did not eat breakfast at this facility, it appeared that they had several items, and the fruit looked fresh. However, the traffic to and from this property from downtown Birmingham is just horrendous. That issue alone would cause me not to stay at this hotel again. Please note that there is an upstairs and a downstairs. There is no elevator of course. If you have lots of luggage, as we did, please be sure to request a downstairs room. The icemaker never produced enough ice to suit us. Perhaps you can get ice at the front desk. The front desk people were very nice and helpful. It appeared to me that they needed to do more maintenance around this property. It just reminded me of an old apartment building really.
