Ramada by Wyndham Birmingham Airport

The property is old and smells bad , also the rooms are comfortable but smells bad. The Ice machines on the top 2 floors were empty . The Ramada would be my last resort if I had a choice.

Great location close to airport Facilities are in obvious disrepair hotel needs a major rehab both inside and out

Rating 1 out of 5 - SAFETY ISSUES. - And my wife thinks that rating is generous. A few things were OK with the Hotel: a) Check-in on a Saturday Night was fairly fast. b) There was free Coffee in the Lobby early on Sunday morning. c) The shuttle bus driver was on-time at 4 am Sunday morning. UNACCEPTABLE: a) No Smoke Detector in the Room, it was torn off the wall and apparently never replaced. b) The front Desk wouldn't answer the Room phone. I asked them about it, and they said there were on "Night Service" ( whatever that means ) and that's why there was a busy signal. - What happens in the unlikely event of an emergency when you need assistance ? ? ? c) The front desk also didn't answer the phone for several calsl I made on the outside general phone number made from my cell phone. Why ? ? ? Other: a) Hotel is run-down and in desperate need of updates. b) "We don't do wake-up calls". Really ? For an airport hotel ? ? ? c) Toilet wasn't properly installed. Recommendation: a) Tear it down and use the extra lot space for economy airport parking Bottom-line: IF I ever have to stay at the BHM airport to catch an early flight, I will try the Holiday Inn a few blocks away.

The staff was very nice. The gentleman that drove me to the airport was very nice and made my morning. The hotel is older but it was clean.

Nice place for the price , nothing fancy, but good decent place

Got a very reasonable rate. Room was very nice. Spent more for rooms that could not compare

Very friendly staff love the location to the airport and free parking

Older property, need a few upgrades, but they are trying. good staff. lighting is bad in rooms and bath/shower not enough hot water.

It was nice and quiet all night, there was no outside noise to be heard. I really enjoyed my stay.

Slow check-in; parking crowded; one elevator; ice machine did not work

Looks run down. Commode constantly ran. Hallways smelled horrible. $7 for a continental breakfast.

Everything was ok except I still have a hold on my card for a stay that was almost a week ago. The amount is making me believe that I’m being charged twice for my stay but I am waiting to see if the charge ever gets lifted from my card. I paid online for my reservation with a credit card and used a different card for incidentals which is normal. But I feel like the incidentals amount is oddly high and a specific price . I’ve been assured that this is not the case but I still see the pending amount and was told to wait another 48 hours then if it wasn’t gone it could be manually lifted. If it can be manually lifted I’m just wondering why after 4 days it couldn’t just be done at that time when I called with my concern?

Except it's close to the airport with free shuttle service to/from the airport and the exterior looks fine, nothing is good. Our room was not cleaned (we stayed 2 nights). WiFi is impossible to use unless you keep the door open. Room key doesn't work on the 2nd day. The smoke alarm in the room went off for nothing in the evening. When calling the front desk, no one picked up because it's short staffed.

There were export people asking for reservations. The elevator didn’t.’t work most of the time. The rooms were dingy. Overall a disas.

The overall cleanliness was not well.. ice machine didn't work on the floor , there was mold in the bathroom ceiling ,the shower curtain hang down, privacy curtains hanging down, the lamp shades were dirty, the sink was separating in the bathroom..Front desk staff was in street clothing, NO uniform.. try to get extra washcloths I was told they didn't have anymore..Wow.. sure wasn't worth the money
