Love the historical significance, the location was perfect for my meetings

The staff was all very nice and the outside of the property is beautiful. The interior room itself was a disappointment. We were in a King Suite with a balcony and the pillows on the bed were like postage stamps, not King Pillows. The upholstered furniture is in need of a refresh. Our room was not replenished with new towels (after taking away the dirty), new coffee condiments, bottled water.

Beautiful historic building, super nice staff but the room and hallway carpet definitely needs changing, could be a little more comfortable.

Excellent location for walking to many sites in the downtown area. Also there were several good restaurants within walking distance. The staff were always ready to help.

Staff and room were great but the gym needs some help as the cardio equipment is outdated

Absolutely beautiful hotel! I wish they had opened up the curtains at breakfast so we could see the view from up that high. The hotel staff was very friendly, except the woman at the front desk in the morning. Haha, I guess I can see getting annoyed by constant calls about when/ where breakfast is. The only complaint we had is that there were no informative pamphlets in the room about the hotel & services. We thought about calling for room service, but there was no menu. ??

Gorgeous historic hotel in a clean downtown setting. Easy drive to the event I was attending in the Avondale neighborhood.

Good downtown location. Lobby and commons areas are updated but still hold the historical aspect of what makes The Tutwiler special. Valet team is incredibly efficient and professional. Front desk team - not so much. Just not as polished and attentive as I'd expect. Actually had an unpleasant phone call while enroute to the hotel prior to check in with a hotel associate who was short and unclear in explaining what I was requesting.

We only stayed one night to attend an event at the BJCC arena, which was an easy 3 blocks away. There were lots of food and drink options in the area, and what we saw of the city itself was nice and clean and very pretty. If we ever go back, I'd definitely stay there again.

Very pleased with our stay. Nice room, nice restaurant. Easy walk to the BJCC concert hall... Would certainly stay here again

Nice hotel, the staff was wonderful. Nothing else to say.

The staff is uncommonly friendly and helpful and the location is perfect in downtown Birmingham. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable. The breakfast doesn't open early enough for early morning flights, but there is always coffee and tea downstairs. They packed a breakfast bag for those of us who had to leave before 6:00, which was much appreciated. I would like to have had a microwave and/or small refrigerator available, but the rooms are quite small and so I don't know where they would put either.

Old, dirty and the rooms were small. I would stay somewhere else next time

This hotel was great! It is an elegant piece of history and we loved it! The hotel is beautiful, the room was very comfortable and the location was just perfect! The bathroom was amazing - the shower was divine! The staff was very helpful and so attentive. We loved every minute and can't wait to come back for another stay!

We loved the hotel but the parking was a bit problematic. We had an appointment and thought giving the valet (only option) 30 min to get our car was enough time. This was not the case!! After they finally brought our car the entry way was blocked with several cars they had let unload brides made dresses and other wedding decorations. It took almost an hour to get our car and leave the turn about.

My sister and I spent two days getting to know Birmingham. The Tutweiler/Hampton Inn was a great choice! Centrally located with walking distance to most everything we wanted to do, nice atmosphere, historic ambience, very good complimentary breakfast, and a friendly, professional and informed staff. We did our own downtown walking tour using the Birmingham: Taking it to the Streets suggestions and had a great overview getting to know the city. We went to two theatrical performances while there and were quite impressed with both shows (one at Stamford, the other Red Mountain). Ate well (Brick & Tin, Fife's, Jim 'n Nicks, Peanut Depot). And have new understanding and appreciation for the Civil Rights movement (Civil Rights Institute, Heritage Trails throughout the city). Lots to offer, we weren't disappointed.

Such a lovely hotel. We really enjoyed it. 10 minute walk to the Science Museum.

I have stayed at this hotel when ever I have had business in Birmingham. It has a fantastic restaurant attached and the staff is always great. They over a shuttle to the airport and to other parts of town for other activities. AND, I don't believe in ghosts anyway.......

average and adequate, small rooms, wi-fi never worked even after a call to the staff
