We got a really good deal for a 3 night stay in December. Lovely comfortable hotel in a great location. The football stadium directly in front of the hotel is very impressive. We were able to walk into the city along the river and jumped on the tram on the way back. We loved Bilbao and everything the city and surroundings had to offer. Lovely bars with great food and drink and hotel very central for bus to the airport and tram into the city. We didnt have enough time to see everything that we wanted to so we will be back..

Stayed here 3 nights, booked via British Airways. Location: Very easy journey by airport bus to the main bus terminal, which is next to the football stadium, & at only at E1.45. The tram line is a 5 minute walk away. Room: My room was quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was well supplied, had a tub and shower, well lit, big fluffy towels, and the make up mirror was at an appropriate height ( a rarity!) Sadly, no kettle to make tea/coffee. Ample wardrobe space, and wooden hangers too...another plus! My only quibble with the room was the constant emergency light above the door. I prefer a dark bedroom and found the light intrusive...but assume this is a mandatory requirement. Food....breakfast is ample and delicious. Hot food is cooked to order, so no tepid offerings, another big plus. I ate twice in the restaurant and took advantage of the special offer, providing 3 courses with bread & water for E20. 00. The food was excellent, especially the steak. Highly recommended. The bar offered various snacks, sandwiches and a limited variety of salads and hot dishes. The house wine was very reasonably priced, and of good quality. Staff.....unfailingly helpful, polite and genuinely warm. Staff were all happy to advise, find maps and offer suggestions. Well done! Bilbao....I was really impressed. A walkable clean small city, with lots of plaza's, parks, public art and an astonishing range of places to eat very good quality food, for all budgets.

Although slightly off pitch next to the football stadium it is still well located and in a regeneration area yet close t the bus station. The view ver the river is a bonus. The staff without exception were very helpful and friendly. Cannot find fault.

This hotel is best in Bilbao. Beyond its views (between the river and the brand new San Mames Stadium), the New Year Eve 2016 celebration was spectacular. The menu was a perfect combination between sea and country side-food: Vieria with mango and lime, octopus and porrusalda, and a great rump steak. During the dinner, the drinks were a great combination too, after that, the bar was open until 5AM, yes! 5AM!!! Also during the dinner, the decoration and atmosphere remembered me confort and elegance, but after the dinner the best was to come: it was a special place dedicated to the party, great music and dance floor, lighting and party accessories, just next to the river! Thanks to the balcony was possible to smoke with a great view.

The hotel is quite close to the airport, but the public transport is troublesome to the airport so you need to get a taxi/transfer vehicle. Once at the hotel it is close to everything in Bilbao and you can comfortably walk around easily in the city centre. The football stadium could not be closer! We were here for a city break, and I had a nice large room on the 3rd floor. It was very clean and spacious with lots of closet space, a huge bed, heating/ac system, large safe, spacious bathroom with nice bath and shower, and a minibar. The room was serviced well throughout the stay. The bar staff were lovely and friendly, and the bar was good value. The breakfast was lovely, offering freshly cooked dishes to personal taste, huge choice of hot drinks, meats, cheeses, breads and pastries, and more! And best of all, Cava on ice ! Reception staff were professional and friendly at all times. Would certainly visit Bilbao again for a city break, and this hotel would be my number one choice in the future. The only negative, is that the hotel bar closes at 11pm prompt. This is a bit too early for a hotel bar especially on a Friday/Saturday night. Although there is lots of bars in easy reach.

I stayed with my mum and my daughter and we were all very impressed with the quality of the service we received. The hotel staff are one of the friendliest are most efficient I have ever come across. The check-in was easy and the breakfast was superb. My mum left her phone in the room after check out and the hotel called us to let us know straight away. This is our second stay in the hotel, and we will definitely be back :-) Zorionak eta Urte Berri on denoi!

One of the best hotels ever! The size of the room is bigger than my flat!bathroom the same ridiculously size as the room. The bed is one of the biggest i have ever slept on!The breakfast was huge , with almost everything you want to eat in the morning. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended!!!!! It is a 5 min walk from bus station(Termibus) and 3 min walk to metro station (San Memes). It is not in a very touristic area, but is opposite the San Memes stadium. Small local independent shops are nearby if you want to get water or crisps or something similar. It is around 15-20 min walk to Guggenheim Museum and another 15 min to the old city. Staff speak English so no problems communicate at all. With the metro, the old city is 5 stops away and costs 1.5 euros or you get a daily card with unlimited travelling for 4.7 euros. It is a very good alternative to walking. Would definitely recommend this place for its breakfast and its location, especially if you want to be close to the stadium or the Termibus.

Toilets were not well kept there were mould, in the sinks and handles. Service: attitude in the reception and the male waiters was unfriendly We did not get any information when we arriwed. It was quite a shock to hear in the evening that we had to pay more to get breakfast.

The hotel is conveniently location to the intercity bus station (if you want to go on day trips to San Sebastián or Biarritz). Regular rooms, well priced. The big surprise for us was a restaurant. We were there on a busy week August (football, fiesta, fireworks competition), and didn't reserve any restaurants in advance. It was a challenge to find a place for dinner, everything was packed. The first night we had dinner at mediocre italian restaurant and definitely didn't want to go back there. So the next night we took a chance and decided to test the restaurant in the hotel. It was superb! We selected a pre-fixed menu that changes daily. The food was very innovative and high quality. I still remember the aroma of the mint in gnocchi sauce! One of the dishes was cod in caramel sauce which sounds alarming, but was simply amazing. It was one of the best meals we ever had in Spain. And if I remember correctly, was under €40 per person! I highly recommend this restaurant not only for those who stay in Hisperia Zubialde, but all people who visit Bilbao.

I have been staying at the hotel for the past year on regular business travel and having stayed in other hotels in the city it is the best hotel for service, friendly staff and location. I would highly recommend it.
