Hotel Sercotel Coliseo

This is a centrally located hotel of four stars. It is not far to walk to the old city and the Guggenheim as well as only being a few hundred metres to the train station. The bus stop from the airport is about 600 metres. My room is large and quite long and narrow. My room 406 had a very modern and spacious internal bathroom. Bed was comfortable, wifi was very good and there were plenty of power points. Breakfast was excellent and included a few hot dishes...baked beans...scrambled eggs and bacon....also lots of cold cuts and cheeses, fruit, juice, hot beverages, pastries etc. A nice hotel and what I paid at the time represented good value. I had very little contact with the staff but what there was...was satisfactory. I would return to this hotel.

Very nice, modern hotel in a great location in the centre of Bilbao. Generously-sized rooms, with plenty of sockets and a stylish bathroom. Gym area available, although I was too lazy to try it! Very good breakfast with a wide selection of hot and cold items.

Apart from a lack of a distinctive style, Sercotel Coliseo is absolutely OK. Writing this review more than a month after my stay there, it is difficult to remember anything particular - it was just OK. Actually, what deserves a special mention was the breakfast buffet, definitely above the Spanish standard. In conclusion, a very good but faceless hotel, the price/value rather on the expensive side.

Very good hotel for a stay in Bilbao. Very well located in the city. The staff has been Nice and helpful. Large room and very clean for a correct price. Just Check the breakfast as too expensive at the hotel. I recommend this hotel!

Lovely modern hotel behind beautiful old facade. Nice large room with usual facilities. Decent bathroom and shower. Plenty of sockets, fast wifi. Very quiet and bed comfortable so perfect for long lie ins after coming back late from festival. The terrace is lovely and was very quiet when we were there. Location is very good, close to metro and station although the centre is very walkable. Lovely modern hotel behind beautiful old facade. Nice large room with usual facilities. Shuttle buses take you up and down to the festival from the other end of the city but it was a flat 20 min walk and felt safe even at 3am.

We first visited the Sercotel Coliseo in 2010 just after it opened so our stay in April 2017 was a return visit. Some of its attributes have not changed: it is still close to everything in Bilbao and the hotel offers good value. The front desk staff tried to sell us a room upgrade which we declined. Our resultant room was on the small side and very warm even when the window was opened. The housekeeping is mediocre and the water pressure quite honestly was terrible. The weekday breakfast offerings and staff however are wonderful but during the weekend we noticed tables were not cleared and items on the buffet not resupplied promptly. The dry cleaning service which is done in house is very good and would be used again. Overall, not as delightful as when it first opened but the Sercotel Coleseo is still a strong possibility when visiting Bilbao because of its location.

Stayed here for 4 days whilst visiting the city and surrounding area. The hotel is very well situated and all main sights are within walking distance, with several restaurants nearby. The staff at reception were very helpful, the hotel clean, breakfast had a good selection (although the staff seemed to be continually trying to keep everything topped up). We paid for an upgrade and although we ended up with a very spacious room the designers were more concerned with look than practicality. There was very little shelving, limited number of hangers, and yet a lot of empty space. Otherwise I would have been happy to award the hotel 5 stars. Would still definitely recommend when visiting the city

We have stayed in this hotel a couple of times. Always nice and clean. Central location for every part of bilbao. Easy acces from airport bus (500 meter). Staff is friendly and speak english. Great wifi. Nice rooms with cooler and good aircondition

It was our last night in Spain. It's conveniently located and close to many eateries. The room is spacious and clean. The advantage of this hotel is that it offers parking at the parking garage below the hotel. Please be warn that if you are leaving very early to go to the hotel, our room key did not open the gate of the garage. We called the front office and they were able to open the gate. it was good for one night.

Stayed 1 night. Hotel is very modern, room seemed clean enough, and is central to almost everything in Bilbao. Check in was easy, we were upgraded one tier to a Junior Suite, which seemed wonderful. Our room was on the 3rd floor located all the way down the hall on the north end of the hotel. Unfortunately this upgrade proved to be hell come morning time. Very loud banging and shaking from the construction directly next door (our wall was the only thing separating us from the noise) started from 8am onwards. The noise felt like it was coming from directly above and beside our room. We complained and asked for an extra 2 hours to check out, which was granted. The desk agent even acknowledged that they have received complaints from other guests in the past regarding the noise (which meant the hotel was aware about this construction). Had I known there was construction in the building NEXT door I would not have booked here. Note to hotel: Be honest and publish any nearby construction happening during known periods. Sleep quality is one of the most important things for me when traveling and unfortunately that was more than subpar during this stay.
