Sir Savigny Hotel Berlin4.0 out of 5.0

Pleasantly designed hotel with cool staff that fits the overall style. If you are done with old fashioned luxury, good place -> I especially enjoyed the nearby top notch sushi restaurant 893 (the concierge got us a booking since it was booked out well in advance).
About the location - The Sir Savigny hotel was really conveniently near the S Bahn and a short distance from the Tiergarten. We loved going to Cafe Am Neuen See in the tiergarten but did end up taking the S-Bahn. If you're going out at night to Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain, then plan to take a pricey cab home or a long long bus ride. About the place - The rooms are SMALL and this is not a regular SPG property (i.e. No upgrades or perks for platinum). We got thought we booked a room with a queen-sized bed, but when we got there it was actually just two double mattresses pushed together that rolled apart at night. The lobby is cozy and is a nice spot for a drink.
Nice little boutique hotel. Comfortable beds & rainforest shower. Kind of too steampunk with all the switches though. Had to unscrew lightbulbs because I couldn't find the switch. I'd return on my next stay. Really good burger downstairs at The Butcher restaurant which is attached.
I'm very exciting to be leaving the Sir Savigny tomorrow morning. If you're SPG Platinum this hotel is a special tragedy. No upgrades, no breakfast, no happy hour... just 11 square meters of postage stamp claustrophobia. Does anyone really want to poop two meters from where their partner is sleeping? Expedia has the room at $130 +/- per night, but SPG dinged us 10,000 points per night. I guess that was our fault, but the next time I visit Berlin I'm going Hilton... or camping.
I really enjoyed this hotel. The rooms are a delight, the staff are super friendly. Lastly, the hotel's Butcher restaurant and bar is really good. The whole place has a kind of Soho House feel and it is in a good area
I travel a lot for business and pleasure. Some hotels are grande and others not so. Rarely do you find a hotel that you are reluctant to leave for the day and excited to get back to. I could write many, many great thing about the Sir Savigny Hotel in Berlin but I honestly believe that will ruin your surprise. Do yourself a favour and stay here on your visit to Berlin And if you are like me, it will be very easy just to not go outside the hotel at all. Enjoy
Hip, cool, comfy, stylish--great overall. Super friendly staff adds to the excellent vibe. Cool outdoor spaces. Rooms are silent even though on a sizable street. Excellent neighborhood to hang out in, too. Definitely will stay again.
I slept there 2 months ago. So cosy and cool. The bed is the best I ever slept in, The design is so cool and warm. The staff was friendly the breakfast was very good and the bar downstairs is really cool with the Butcher burger bar 10 from 10
What an incredible stay! These guys know hospitality. The vibe is cool + artsy, the service is personable whilst still luxury and the design is contemporary chic without compromising on charm + luxury finishes. The bed, the bed... definitely the best I've ever slept in (note: plenty of lux hotel bed experience). The location is also great + very well placed for cool shops, bars + eateries. If you fancy going East, local transport is minutes away. The Butcher (the hotel's in house restaurant; also welcoming locals + you'll know it judging by the cool vibe) has great burgers + cocktails. Don't skimp on their sweet potato fries either. Don't forget to pick up a book in The Library - their lounge turned dining space turned reception. It's got tons of creative culture reads (including great flicks about Berlin). I enjoyed a long breakfast (also delicious) with a few of their books + was glad to have travelled solo this weekend (as was so entertained by the books + great energy that I didn't need company!) Lastly, got to make an extra shout out to the team here - a hotel is only as great as the people running it + these people made my weekend one to remember. I'll be returning to Berlin more often... even if it's just for a luxurious nights sleep, a burger + a good book.
Ideal location in the Western side of Berlin, just a minute walk from the Savignyplatz S-Bahn stop so it was just perfect. Lots of restaurants around on the same street. From Schönefeld airport, it takes about an hour train and costs EUR 3.40. It's much closer to Tegel. Hauptbahnhof is on the same S-Bahn line and a few stops away. Very convenient. Check-in was rather painless. Had a very short wait as there was one guest with the agent at that time. I arrived at around 6PM. She was very friendly. You can see on the picture that there is just a tiny desk where they have a laptop but they take you to the big table right next to it, sit you there, get you a drink (I took an orange juice) and walk you through the chek-in process there (kind of like some Andaz do). The front desk doesn't really exist. It's mixed with a bar/sitting area and you would see lots of people having drinks or having dinner there so that's a bit special but nothing off putting. I liked it. I knew I booked a small room, as the name makes you understand "Sir Petit" and indeed, the room was small. I think it's still ok for a young couple with just small luggages but forget it if you have big bags. There is no space for you to put your suitcase on and open it. You would have to do it on the floor or on the bed... So that's one slightly negative point. Otherwise the design of the room is great, just like the photos. On the darker side but it suits my taste. Check out the photos for more details. Oh just to mention, the elevator was out of service that day. Had to walk up the stairs with my suitcase, they did offer to help me but I didn't need it. I had a small balcony, overlooking the interior patio. I didn't hear any loud noise though. Bathroom: now that's what I didn't really like. The shower and toilets are separated, that's fine but the shower is ill-designed, as in most recent hotels I've visited. You basically wet the whole floor right outside the shower... despite the door having rubber edges, your floor mat is soaking wet when you're done showering, not the nicest feeling ever to step on a cold wet mat.... They do use fixed bottles of amenities so that's one good point towards the environment and reducing plastic bottles. Didn't try eating there and didn't have breakfast there. They do have their own restaurant, called the Butcher. Meat specialties of course and it seemed quite popular as the restaurant was always full when I walked by. It did look quite nice haha. Overall great experience, friendly and efficient staff. Well appointed rooms but a bit small. I would maybe try booking one category above this one. I'd definitely stay here again but I also want to try the other Design Hotel options in the city.
