Visited for a weekend break, arrived on the morning flight,so had to wait till 1400 hrs for our room. The hotel took care of our bags till our room was available. We had a twin room, with bath and overhead shower, which had two heads, very powerful for a hotel. The room was clean with the most comfortable beds and pillows. There was no Beveridge tray but this is not unusual in European hotels, there was a fully stocked fridge and a safe in the room. The shower room did have one peculiarity, the door was see through glass.,but the toilet did have a wooden door. The hotel is situated near two U bahn stations, near to café,s and a short ten minute walk from the shops of Kafurstendam .The U bahn is easy to transvers and made the city conveniently on your doorstep. The food at breakfast was plentiful and lots of freshly made coffee( not from a machine) ,which is a lovely surprise today ,as many hotels have converted to the dreaded machines !! I would stay here again if I visited Berlin, hopefully in the not too distant future,to see the sights I was not able to see on this visit
Just returned from a four night visit to Berlin and stayed at this hotel. This hotel is extremely central and 5 minutes walk to two different U Bahn stations, and the KaDeWe! We received a room as requested, quiet and on a high floor. We got room 501, a room used for handicapped people meaning it was larger and with an amazing large shower. The hotel staff were pleasant, helpful and assisted with any "how to" questions we had. The breakfast was very good. Only bad thing to mention is the wifi which costs 5 Euro a day in the room, which the staff are sorry for stating it's a "management decision"! Would definitely return to this hotel and recommend it...
Really nice mid-price hotel in central Berlin close to Kurfürstendamm. Lots of good shopping close to the hotel. (Beware that the hotel is close to a small gay bar area to the east. Not that it is any problem in relation to the hotel, though!)
Very relaxing hotel, convenient on one hand for lady wife's shopping (lots of big shops) but easy to reach all the mainstream tourist attractions on the local transport systems. Great breakfast bar to keep you going for the day and a small restaurant finishes of the day well. Even the minibar prices are reasonable.
The rooms to the street are very noisy. You hear traffic. Needed better isolated windows. The service staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast quite good, but was better years ago. Will come again and can recommend this hotel. Please ask for rooms to the back of the building.
We went the whole family, on the occasion of a wedding. All very well, staff, rooms, food, cleanliness, services, location ... Great value for the price Highly recommended for any type of visits to Berlin.
Brilliant three night stay at the Ivberg premium hotel in April 2017. The hotel is a 20 minute taxi drive from Tegel Airport which cost 25 Euro between the four of us, The hotel was located in an ideal spot approximately a 5 minutes walk to the Wittenberg-platz and the shopping in Tauentzeinstrasse. A further 5 minutes walk takes you to either the Tiergarten or Berlin Zoo. The staff on reception were welcoming, friendly and helpful with directions and city information. As our room was not ready until 14:00 hours our luggage was secured while we went out to explore. The room itself was well appointed, clean and provided with the facilities that I expected from a good hotel. The breakfast was available from 06:30 allowing early exploration of the city. Food was provided in a hot and cold self service buffet which was excellent in quality. However points to note, there are no drink making facilities in the room. There is little noise from within the hotel, but one side of the building is adjacent to the busy Kleiststrasse. If you are a light sleeper try and get a room away from the road on the 5th or 6th floor. Free internet use is limited to 1 hour per day.
The Hotel is well located between 2 stations both about a 5 minute walk, there are various shops/ supermarkets in the area. The beds are very comfortable and rooms clean and quiet never heard a sound, the breakfast was excellent with a great choice in general the staff were good and helpful the bar staff were with out doubt the most cheerful. I would go back it was well worth the money.
We had a mostly positive stay at the Ivbergs Premium. Its a good location if you're interested in West Berlin, not so great if you spend most of your time in East Berlin. The U-bahn does go straight to Alexanderplatz and Zoologischer Garten though so its got good connections. Easy to get to from the Airport and just down the road from a yummy food market (on Thursday) and a big shopping district. Bit weird how our room didn't have a door to the bathroom so there is no privacy getting in and out of the shower and at 7am for two of the mornings we stayed there was loud building work going on outside our room. Breakfast was good, and the tall gentleman working on the front desk was so friendly and helpful. The only big negative is the internet situation. Its 4.99euro for 24 hours but you can only log in on one device at a time!?! I think its a little archaic in this day and age not to offer free wifi in your hotel!
The positives: spotlessly clean, well appointed rooms, good beds, great breakfasts, good location between 2 U-bahn stations. The negatives: no drinks-making in the rooms, efficient but terribly miserable staff (smiling costs nothing) and no free wi-fi in rooms, which in 2017 is unforgivable in any hotel, let alone one billing itself as mid-range (you can, of course, pay for it... 😡).
