Wonderful staff, spotlessly clean and really good breakfast. I was trying to organise a money off voucher for a restaurant in Berlin and could not complete it. The female receptionist, was amazing and somehow managed to fix it all out for me. My husband is disabled and the hotel has a step in the front and two steps up to reception so is not wheelchair friendly, I did request an accessible room and did not get one so I assume the hotel does not have any. There is a step at the front of the hotel, and 2 steps up to the reception, so the hotel could benefit from installing some ramp access - or at least have removable ramps, and it also cost us quite a bit in taxis to get to and from Berlin centre. We did eventually find out that most of the buses can accommodate wheelchairs, so would know better next time. We were given a room close to the lift which was a bonus, but patrons with no lower body mobility would not manage in this hotel. We found the room very cold, the receptionist turned up the heating in the room remotely and the gave us extra quilts. The only other negative is the lift - the doors close in a few seconds and just about cut you in half, as they are difficult to reopen once they start to close - and they shut with a great deal of force.Having said all that it is still a lovely hotel with great, helpful staff.
Lovely hotel, small, clean, no frills but cheap and certainly adequate. We stayed for four nights and had no problems at all. Hotel is a five minute brisk walk from Theodor Heuss Platz on the U2 line. It takes about 30 minutes on the underground to Alexanderplatz. Hotel rooms do not have tea and coffee making facilities, we were room only so cannot comment on breakfast. The bar is in the reception area, staffed by receptionist. Take your own lemon if you want a slice in your G&T, unless you’re there in the next 48 hours as we bought some from Aldi down the road! Happy to share! Toiletries are supplied, towels are a bit thin, but adequate. We only met two staff, a hilarious Russian gentleman and a lovely young lady, both on reception, very kind and helpful. We would stay again, however, it’s worth considering hotels nearer the centre of town because what you pay per night there is offset by underground fares and time lost getting to places.
Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights as part of a trip through Europe, I can't fault the hotel at all, it had everything that we needed. The location was great, just outside the city but amazing transport links and the bus station was just a small walk down the road, which was convient for us as we were catching the bus to our next destination Prague. In the area surrounding the hotel there are some nice cocktail bars and places to eat which was fab for the evening when we didn't feel like travelling back into the city. Room was clean, spacious and very warm despite the freezing weather outside! Would stay again.
My fiancee and I stayed for 3 nights during our stay in Berlin and found the hotel fantastic. The staff were all really friendly, the room was to a high standard, reasonably priced and the location offered great transport links to the city centre. The only downsides to this hotel are: - The limited hot breakfast buffet choices - normally consist of 3 options changing every day - Noisy road - should you have a room at the front of the hotel, the road can be noisy during rush hour.
The hotel was just across the road from the U Theodor-Heuss-Platz station which has quick and easy access all the major stations in Berlin. It's also only a few minutes walk away from the station that takes you to the Olympic Stadium, only 1 stop away and took a less than a few minutes to get to. Day tickets are available as well as multiple day tickets. It's so cheap and easy to travel all day and night! We had a corner room which was nice and spacious and looked to be relatively recently refurbished. The beds are traditional German style so even though you book a double it's like two single mattresses on one bed frame. Very comfortable too. The receptionist spoke perfect English and didn't mind me trying out my basic grasp of the German language! Breakfast was available but we chose to eat out in the City. There are a few restaurants and bars across the road near the station but again we chose to head into the various districts of Berlin to eat and drink. That's it really. It's a good hotel to have as a base and explore Berlin from.
Ivbergs Hotel was very conveniently situated for the metro and also in walking distance of some sights. The room was very comfortable and clean [what else in Germany?!] and the breakfast was excellent. There was easy access to everywhere we wanted to go apart from Charlottenburg which was a bit of a trek and with four of us a taxi was easier and just as cheap. I never tire of this exciting city and learn and see more on every trip. Ivbergs Hotel is worthy of recommendation as is the hop on, hop off bus tour of the city.
Stayed here for four nights on the 17th of December primarily to take in the Christmas markets for the most part didn't disappoint, hotel is spotless the rooms are spacious warm and beds comfortable friendly staff we asked and were given extra pillows , as mentioned in previous posts no tea or coffee facilities in the room remedied by bringing your own travel kettle and getting the necessary at Aldi fifty yards from the hotel or another large supermarket which stays open late adjacent to the tube station Theodore Heuss Platz a two minute walk away , we had breakfast included usual continental fare ,great coffee pure orange , toast jams etc and scrambled eggs and bacon most mornings , if you are planning a lot of sight seeing welcome Berlin Card available in most hotels and terminal A at Schonefeld airport is essential , cost us 35 euros for four days unlimited travel on tubes trams trains and buses also gives you discount at a number of restaurants and attractions.
Although when we first arrived our first room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke even though it is a non smoking hotel, we mentioned this to reception and was given another room. Our new room was spotlessly clean and the beds were in my opinion very comfortable after a long day on your feet. The shower was also amazing with a separate toilet. The hotel location is about a 10min walk from the nearest S Bain station but the underground is about a 3min walk. It takes about 25 on the underground to get to Stadtmitte which is pretty much the city centre. Very comfortable stay
only paid £112 for 2 people bed and breakfast for 2 nights,i was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room very large is an understatement. large very firm comfy bed great bedding temp control very large windows with front views.wi fi works great tv small but works fine.nice and quiet at night shower and bathroom very modern and the toilet away from these in a separate room. loads of storage space and maintained to a good standard each day.the staff are efficient but not gushingly friendly in the usual german way. breakfast is okay fair amount of choice and quick check in and out, only one poor point the lift looks like an old service elevator not in keeping with everything else.now this hotel is not near the centre but metro is near so no problems getting about, and aldi just next door
Spent 2 nights here room was massive clean and airy. Plenty to do and lots of local shops would definitely go again breakfast had a good range of choice and plenty of fresh coffee staff helpful and friendly cannot fault this place at all
