The room was fine, nothing special. The front desk staff was pleasant, but nothing special. The location was close to transit, so that was good. The Restaurant food was surprisingly good, the Wiener Schnitzel was well made and the staff was friendly. Breakfast the next morning was a nice selection of meats, cheeses and very good breads. the highlight of that hotel experience.
Because the rates in this hotel are reasonable, many travel groups choose it. So, it is almost always crowded. Location is good. There are three tram stop close to the hotel (each is about 5 minutes away). TV channels are very limited. No minibars in the room. The main problem in this hotel is the lack of privacy. Housekeeping staff will enter the room even though the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign is presented. I talked to the person in charge many times, but the housekeepers keep invading my privacy. I reported it to the manager, and they still coming in.
We booked the hotel for 3 nights whilst we visited the Christmas markets. When we checked in, the receptionist tried to tell us the room was unpaid. We had to present proof of payment. We booked a double room (it was clear as day on our booking confirmation). However we were given a twin room. We asked reception if we could change rooms but we got told there was non. The hotel was in a ‘OK’ location - a 15 minute tram or taxi ride to the city centre. Holiday Inn failed on their aspiration of a 10 out of 10.
Stayed for 2 nights with Leger holidays. On arrival to our room we noticed the foul smell coming from the bathroom. Maybe the sink was blocked as it was really slow draining. Room itself was great with air conditioning, safe, tv, kettle and limited tea/coffee brands. There is a netto supermarket nearby should you need supplies. Our main gripe was after a long day travelling and wanting something to eat,we decided to eat at the hotel. It has a few rooms which served food but even the staff did not know which restaurant the food was to be served in. Dinner was really good but breakfast was a disappointment. Little selection available. Cereals, breads, yogurts, meats, fruit and tea, coffee,Orange juice. The biggest complaint I had was stale cornflakes with warm (not even chilled) milk and warm Orange juice. There is a tram stop near the entrance of the hotel for the city. Did not go on them so no idea how long it takes and the fare costs. Not the usual standard you expect with the Holiday Inn chain.
We spent for nights here on a city break. The hotel is clean, comfortable and mostly quite. We got 4 good night's sleep. Breakfast (included on our stay) was superb, a huge range to chose from. Rooms have a safe, handy for passports etc. but unfortunately no kettle. WiFi is offered but at a price so we used the excellent 4G roaming on our mobiles - free now in Europe. Trams run into the city center frequently and depending on your exact destination there are three close stops to chose from. As well as the breakfast restaurant there is a pub style place that is handy for a quick beer and serves evening meals. We would stay again without doubt.
I stay there as a part of Europamundo tour. The hotel it's very close to a Tram stop. The rooms are good sized with AC. Some updates have been done to the rooms, but they are old and asking urgently for a refesh! Specially the bathrooms and TV's, They still use TV's from the 90's ( Just like some pictures you can see from previous reviewers) that remind me childhood memories. We found some cloths from a previous costumer. Front desk personal always helpful and friendly. You can buy public transporttickets at the The hotel . Unlimited and high speed internet is for free.
Chose this hotel for my Holiday to Berlin with my Partner The location is great with many tram stops near at 20 mins to City centre Day tickets for transport are avail at Hotel for 7 euro Check in was perfect Very friendly Helpfull Honoured as IHG member with 2 free drinks plus 2 free drinks from hotel too Hotel is massive Resturant is huge although i never eat here I did have breakfaat on first day Usual continental breakfast I much prefered to go to local baker only a 10 min walk away There is bars, food etc around near by streets also Rooms were as expected Only issue i had was shower was the worst ever Just dribbles all over the place and can see this has been on going for ages as the edge of bath was rotten where water was sitting No fridge in room nor Ice machines That was a little disappointing as You have to go to bar for ice Check out was fast Here is receipt Goodbye Maybe more attention to guest on check out would be nice I would def come back to this hotel Much cheaper than city centre And still clean and safe area
The hotel is within 20mins away from Alexanderplatz by tram. The breakfast is very good and delicious, the service at the reception is most of the time friendly. The room was big, clean and very good cleaned every single day! The pillows are the worst thing =very fluffy, so you basicly have no pillow below your head! Another bad thing is the missing fridge... the cooling system is also not very good= in the summer it gets really hot inside! So my stay was in the sunny and warm June- I do not recommend this period for staying= too hot inside and no place to store food in the room!
The hotel is in a good location we were able to get a tram 2mins walk away and get to loads of interesting places in Berlin. The staff were great. Friendly approachable and very helpful. I can say the best display of customer services I have witnessed in some time. Even when there was a nasty customer being very rude to the staff they still provided her with good customer service. Breakfast was a great selection from teas to fresh fruit and there was never a shortage of supply even on our last morning when the entire breakfast room was filled with customers. Room was nice clean and spacious. All you would expect and more from this brand and I would definitely return.
Holiday Inn City Centre East Landsberger Allee I have used this hotel during my recent visit to Berlin for ITB Berlin. I arrived about 13:00 and the young man at the reception told me that check in is supposed to be from 15:00, and if I want a room already, I must pay additionaly 20 EUR, I was surprised, because usually most of the hotels, specially big hotels like this, allow you to get the room when you arrive earlier than check in time, if they have rooms available, in this case, they had already available rooms,…, but just paying this additional fee…, I wanted to leave my luggage and take a shower, so I decided to pay it, but I would understand this better, regarding an extended check out, but not for an early check in. In addition, in spite of I refused from the beginning, he insisted several times, if I do not want to become a club member of Holiday Inn hotels, but I was not interested about this. The room was spacious and clean with the standard for a 4 stars hotel, excepting for the bathroom, where there was only a small soap, not shampoo or hand cream, etc.. The room had a kettel to prepare tea. Internet was for free at the rooms, but unfortunately in my room, it did not work at all, I could not connected with internet during the time I spent at the hotel, so I used one of the 2 computers they have available at the lobby. The hotel is located in a quarter of the former East Berlin, so the nearby buildings are not very pretty, but it has a good connection by tram with Alexander Platz and the most interesting parts of Berlin City centre. Regarding the breakfast, is not the kind of hotel where the breakfast is one of things you enjoy the most, but they have all the standard basic you need to start a day, and the personal of the restaurant was polite, however one thing I did not like, the restaurant was not big and considering is a hotel for groups, it was really crowded at 08:00, so I had to take my breakfast at the bar, at the elevator there is a warning about the hours, where the restaurant has higher occupancy, but they should prevent this by using another additional restaurant or looking for a bigger room for this. I could not say it was a very bad experience, but in general considering my experience at the reception during arrival and the other details I mentioned, I would rather look for another Holiday Inn, for example Holiday Inn Express Berlin City Centre where I stayed with my family in 2013, having a very good experience, than coming back to this hotel.
