Small room for two. breakfast and restaurant was wonderful. Wifi was intermittent so could not work well. Reception service to be improved. Some could not speak or understand English or took too long to provide request for items, not helpful when asked for taxi booking or nearest doctor etc. Had to take shuttle to train station for taxi as reception did not want to book for us a taxi directly. Had to find doctor ownself.
Stopped in Berlin for business overnight and stayed in this IHG hotel. The hotel itself is quite nice and well maintained. The rooms are very modern and clean. Had lunch at the hotel bar and the chicken club was fantastic. Only negative is the hotel reception. Not sure if they are understaffed but only one person was working the front desk and there was 4 people waiting to check in/out and the phone was ringing non stop. Price was a little high for one night but expected being so close to the airport and city center.
The room was fine and very clean. The hotel itself was exactly what you'd expect. Upon arrival I needed a late lunch and the pizza and beer was excellent. However, dinner in the restaurant wasn't so good. Not overly expensive but pretty much confirmed all the reasons I prefer to eat out rather than in the hotel.
It was clean, quiet and had a handy shuttle bus to and from the airport. The room wasn't prepared for 4 people when we arrived very late at night, but it was sorted out easily enough. The air con didn't work and the pillows really weren't comfortable so we all had a very bad night's sleep.
Good morning, As I write this I am now sat in What's is probably the most uncomfortable bed I have ever encountered in a hotel. I was hoping to get a good night's sleep with a lie in prior to travelling home today. I could not sleep because the bed was solid and the pillows far too soft. I did finally fall asleep in the early hours of the morning only to be awoken by aggressive Knocking on the door followed by the maid walking in the room whilst I was still in bed. She the insisted I hurried up as check out is at 9. She was told we check out at 12. She continued to argue so we just agreed so she would go away. Reception was contacted and they confirmed 12 o'clock check out. It's safe to say I am still tired and now have a day of travelling ahead of me. I am so less than impressed with having to pay €18 for overnight parking when I have already paid for two over priced rooms. Other points worthy of note: No milk for tea or coffee The room is far too hot and the air conditioning does not work. It's far to noisy to open the door. The bathroom constantly smells of the sewers. The walls and ceilings must be paper thin because all I can hear is people banging around. Our guests in the other room stated exactly the same as above. Unacceptable. Unsatisfactory stay, to say the least.
Very close to the airport. Fully equipped rooms. The bathroom and shower are spotless, with a strong and hot stream of water (even in the best hotels we've ever had, it's not obvious). Good and inexpensive dinner. Meets the requirements.
I stayed in one of the executive suites during my week long business project in Berlin. The only one downside is the distance this hotel is from the center of Berlin, but then again there is readily available transport from the hotel (shuttle bus) that goes to the train station and several trains that go from there to Berlin center. The bar staff are extended friendly..the front desk staff not so much... The bar is pretty cool and chilled out. The breakfast has a wide variety of just what you need. Good hotel for business...and it’s very evident as most of the guests there are there for business!
Recently spent 3 nights at this hotel. The hotel is convienent to the airport and train station. We used the complimentary shuttle that runs 24 hours on a consistent basis and I believe after midnight you must contact them for pickup. The staff was very professional and the room was comfortable. Would stay there again if I visit.
I'm presently staying in the hotel on a business trip. I am an IHG Gold member. Generally the hotel provides some refreshments in the room .. but today is the second day and none have been provided. At check in, staff is required to acknowledge membership status, but no one even bothered asking me if I'm a member. Check in staff advised that breakfast was included, but the restaurant staff advised that it wasn't. The hotel needs to get it's act together as the group that has got this franchise doesn't live up to the IHG standards. Shall make a complaint when I receive a message regarding providing feedback. Poor service .. find other places to stay!
I stayed here by chance as I couldn't find a nice hotel in Berlin to attend IFA. I used some IHG points to pay for the stay and I have to say, I was very impressed. The hotel feels very modern and celebrates the local airport (formerly Interflug's main base prior to reunification). I'm IHG Platinum and did get upgraded from Standard to Superior and liked the room - very modern and everything worked, including good reliable free wifi. The sauna / steam room etc facilities are excellent and I really enjoyed my time there. Note that the facilities are 'FKK' e.g. nude - this is perfectly normal in Germany and nothing to even flinch at - nobody else does - just go with it. In the evening I had a bar meal and a few drinks. Despite the bar being full with people from IFA, the attendant still managed to keep my drinks topped up at my table and came over to take my food order. Top marks! So, overall, an excellent experience. I left feeling happy and will definitely return. Superb stay.
