nice little park enough for our two dogs. Restaurant was good, breakfast was good. staff in restaurant not so friendly. Room was very hot, staff had to look for fan. But: mold in the bathroom, we couldnot get another room and did not get a compensation, dogs costs € 10,00 each extra.
The U.S. web site says rooms with AC may be available. When I arrived in Germany I called to inquire about whether they did have rooms with AC (I did not provide a date of arrival or name) and was told “we do not have rooms with air conditioning”. I then asked if they had fans available and I was told they did not. In advance I knew not to expect fans or any AC. I asked at check in if I’d received nice room as a Diamond Select and was told “oh yes”. I was given a room facing the street and it was hot and noisy. The room was downright miserable - since I knew that the hotel had no rooms with AC I did not complain. I thought that it might be fine since the rooms were on the East side of the hotel which meant the sun had not been shining on them all afternoon. I also thought that, since I could open the windows it would be OK. I didn’t know until too late that the noise coming from the street below would make sleeping impossible - you could hear all of the cars, motorcycles and tractors (yes at 2300 at night a tractor rolled past). The noise was so bad (Friday night) we finally opted to close the windows rather than put up with all the noise we could hear with the windows open. This hotel needs to provide fans for their guests who are unfortunate enough to receive street side rooms on hot nights. Our mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. There was no padding of any kind on it and it had no give or bounce - rather like a hard, firm slab. It reminded me of the mattresses you find on beds in college dorms. Interestingly there was a thin foam pad underneath the mattress - I am not sure what purpose that pad served. The mattress was so hard that every move my husband made caused the entire mattress to move. Since it was hot he seemed to move a lot, making things even more miserable for me. At check out I mentioned that the U.S. web site indicates some rooms have AC and I was told that this was true. They have five and when they are booked that is it. I can only assume that there was no better room to place us in when we checked in than a noisy room facing the street (room 207). Best Western says that Diamond Select guests will receive the best room available. Obviously all of the better rooms (those with AC and not facing the street) had already been assigned to other guests. I mentioned to the front desk clerk that I had a bad sleep due to the heat and noise and she replied “I’m sorry”. Perfect - her saying that made all of the discomfort disappear!! Yeah right. If you stay here when it is hot, ask for a room facing the front of the hotel. In the end I did not feel like one of Best Western’s best customers. I felt like a customer that this Best Wester could care less about. The room was simply furnished - the floor was wood and clean. There was a small entry hall that had a nice large cupboard for storing luggage. There was also a small folding luggage rack in the bedroom. The bathroom was small with a small shower in the corner. It would be hard for a large person to be able to step in because of the way it opened (two doors slid apart from the corner). There was a small easy chair and a desk in the room, in addition to the bed. The only power for electronics seemed to be at the desk which had a charging block so multiple items could be plugged in at one time. They have a very nice patio dining area in front of hotel. I did not have a meal but the prices seemed to be reasonable. It was a pleasant, shady area and a respite from the other side of the hotel. Breakfast was extensive. They have a coffee machine, orange or multi vitamin juice and a wide selection of breakfast meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, breads, yogurts, jellies and cereals. They had scrambled eggs, wurstchen and crispy bacon (very salty though). The breakfast was pleasant and I would have liked more time to enjoy it. Breakfast is included in the rate but the U.S. web site has an error and says that breakfast is an extra €14. I showed this mistake to the the clerk when I checked out.
Stayed for 5 nights on the top floor, room was warm, clean & had interesting structures in it, careful when needing to use the facilities at night & no light is on. There was plenty of room & hangers in the wardrobe. On the desk were a tea/coffee making set, a bottle of mineral water (fresh every day) & some glasses. The free wifi worked well. All windows could be opened fully. Great sleeping comfort, large double bed with clean, crisp sheets & a light but warm duvet. Reception & breakfast room staff were friendly & courteous, the bar staff somewhat less so. Breakfast was ok, something for everybody, nice espresso machine.
I have been staying at this Hotel a few times, as a solo traveler and as a couple. I was never disappointed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The mattresses are comfortable. The bathrooms are updated. I really enjoyed the free WiFi connection and the scrumptious breakfast buffet.
excellent stay, the hotel is set in a beautiful location. Staff were friendly allowing us to check in early and check out late. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast do not miss so much to choose from with hot choice too. Walking distance to shops and restaurants with a Lidl supermarket within walking distance too.
Hannover is probably not one of the most exciting cities in Germany, in fact it lacks the european charm you would expect, however, if you have to be here for a convention this is one hotel you should consider staying. The rooms are big, very clean and comfortable. The restaurants are bars are great, the gym and pool very nice, and you can walk to the convention center. I really liked this place
I stayed at the Best Western Parkhotel Krone in Auerbach - Bensheim, Germany for business. Since the room was prepaid I cannot comment on the value. The hotel is in a remodeled building built in 1655, though you can hardly tell as many of eh elements of that era are gone. However, this also means that the layout of location of the rooms vary greatly. Also, some rooms come without air conditioning and I would stay away from those as it can get quite hot in the summer. The best rooms offer outside entrance to a shared rooftop deck and if I had the chance I would have picked one of those. Some rooms offer spacious bathrooms while others skimp on that amenity. So, this hotel is certainly challenging when it comes to picking a room. The included breakfast is typical of German hotels; decent but not particularly elaborate. The hotel restaurant is below average. While the portions are huge they tend to be quite heavy and barely seasoned. Fortunately, there are many good restaurants within walking distance. Being a German hotel, they also have a very nice beer garden with good local beers and hard apple cider. The location is very good if you have a car. It is relatively close to major cities and attractions. If you only need to get to close by city centers, the train station is about 15 minute walk. Generally, this is a good hotel in a peaceful village.
Positiv: Rooms are not bad, big size, nice furniture Water heater included Lot of parking spots around the hotel building Nice Beer garden close to the main entrance However... WiFi doesn’t work on the 3rd. floor. I addressed the problem several times at the reception, no solution provided. Breakfast could be better in terms of variety TV are as small as 20´´, you can hardly see something. Overall attitude at the receptions was rather bored and not helpful at all. There is no air conditioner
Parking next to hotel - It is free all night from 19hrs till 6hrs, but I never payed during my 6 nights even when little out of these hours - there is plenty of space. Gym could use some improvement, but it is usable as it is. Sauna and whole wellness area is just amazing and included as standard in room rate! Breakfast has just too little vegetarian or vegan options – no nuts, and no salads. Only milk available was cow milk (no rice milk, no soya milk, no almond milk…). I asked for an alternative for next days and they were able to make coconut milk which I assume they use for cooking, but as I found it too thick I was rather bringing my own Rice milk from store after second day. It is nice and quiet hotel and I would come again. All hotel staff was professional as expected, but I was extremely satisfied especially with Ms. Henrietta Csomor who appeared to be a few levels ahead of others with enthusiast’s behavior and quality service known normally only from Hilton or Sarovar Hotels. She does not use "not possible" and was always very helpful even it meant more work for her. One example for all in my case: expected usual billing issues as our company has some special internal requirements for hotel bills, were solved almost instantly and with professional attitude.
As already mentioned in the title, this hotel only deserves one * because of its really nice breakfast buffet. Apart from that, I will never book and recommend this hotel again. We stayed there 10 days ago as we had organized a party with friends in the near vicinity. I had reserved 15 rooms that our friends could confirm to their wishes. When we arrived, the lady at the reception was totally unhelpful with the parking situation. This hotel does not have its own parking, there is only a public parking in the back. As there were several things going on in the neighborhood, it was really tricky to find a parking. Only after questioning her a couple of times where one could park, she made some suggestions. But the overall attitude was more or less "not my problem". When we got to our room, we were both really disappointed as it was a small room which was hot and stuffy. As the room was to the busy main street, you could not open the windows. So I went downstairs again and said that I was disappointed to find such a room after having booked 15 rooms in total. The answer once again "this is not my problem, you should have indicated that you wanted a quiet room when you made the reservation". I am sorry, I really do not expect a lot from a Best Western Hotel, but they claim on their website that it is family-run and I therefore had hoped for some kind of (better) service. When I explained that, I once again received the same answer, and, on top, one of the waiters got involved in the conversation, also claiming that it was not their mistake and asking me what I would expect them to do. Really??!! Unfortunately, the management of the hotel was not present on that Saturday afternoon. In the end, and because of a local business woman who was present during that conversation, we received a room to the back. Well, we could leave the windows open and it was not as sticky as the first room, but the lights on the balcony were on all night and could not be turned off, and the beds were from the last century ... But, as I already mentioned at the beginning, the breakfast buffet was really nice with a huge variety of different things, and the woman who was at the check out that morning was friendly. But there are certainly better run hotels to be found in this area.
