I stayed here for 4/5 nights while attending a IBO workshop at Stonehill International School. The hotel itself has nice gardens and the facilities are what you would expect for this type of accommodation and price bracket. The staff were really friendly, helpful and courteous. The room itself was quite large and had twin beds, a bathroom with shower and bath and a balcony overlooking the main garden area. However, the fridge did not keep its contents cold, the air-con unit was quite noisy, there was no spare toilet rolls provided, and there no details regarding accessing the facilities and/or things to do in the local area. Sadly the thing that will stick in my mind is the duty manager coming to my room to try to convince me to vacate the room early to allow another guest to use the room, despite the fact that it had already been paid for until the following day - I had a late flight and paid for the room rather than ask for a late check out. For all I know the guy could have promised the room to a friend for free or at the very least was trying to the money for two bookings. Needless to say I refused.
Excellent food and service by the Chef.. Abid Ali... He comes to your table and checks how the food is and ready to help. He is very receptive and that makes customers feel at home. Most of the food is homely.
This is a reasonably good place to relax with Family or Friends or in a business trip to Bangalore. It's just thirty minutes drive from Bengaluru International Airport and located in a spacious campus with all amenities like playing area, lawns, pool etc. Food is good
A great place to stay for your short visit to B'lor or just airport transfers. Hotel is most of the time occupied with weddings & receptions but don't worry music will stop by 23h00. Rooms are in big size with small balcony and sucificent size of washroom with Italian shower & bath tub. You get plenty of choice in buffet dinner or breakfast. Nothing great things to do around except repose in room your room for your next business hours.
This hotel is actually not at all value for money. Location is very specific. Food is ok types. Room Service is not at all meet the expectations. This is actually honeymoon with no disturbance tpyes hotel. Staff at reception are very friendly.
We had arranged a pre wedding party at Royal Orchid. It was arranged on the lawn and the venue had been booked 6 months in advance.40 rooms in the resort had been booked by our guests. In spite of all this on the evening of the party we found that the part of the lawn had been rented out to another group which had a DJ Party. When we asked our hotel organizer Mrs Sneha about it she said that the DJ party would close before our program .It never happened that way and both parties had to happen simultaneously. We also had live singers at the party who couldn't sing. When we threatened to inform the police she tells us that the other DJ party did not have permission and so please don't do it.We had also spent money on the party and because of their greed the resort totally spoilt our party.
We had booked 2 months in advance for a pre wedding party. When we finally came to the resort we were shocked to find out another event was taking place at the same time with loud dj music. When we asked the hotel manager to lower the volume, they were indifferent. Service here was pathetic!! Room service people never picked up the phone and the cake we had ordered turned up only after we demanded. They were more interested in charging us extra for services which were not provided! When we checked out they had the audacity to make us pay extra for another guest who wasn't even part of our group! The bill was miscalculated and the receptionist was rude when we pointed out the mistake. Please correct all these shortfalls because the resort on its own is beautiful with big rooms and good food!
We had a wonderful annual day event in royal Orchid & one thing I want to appreciate your team work done by Ravi & team and also special thanks for Sneha Gowda .We got very good feedback from our centum employees regarding food & all credit goes to entire team for my wonderful annual day event.
We were a gang of 8 folks meeting for a reunion of sorts. It was my 2nd stay and still found it very very good. The resort is near airport and it's a 20 mins from airport. Then rooms are large spacious with modern decor. The deals are very very good on TripAdvisor itself. Then food is good and resort is spacious. Good part if lot's of stores outside and you can buy anything.
We visited the Royal Orchid for a friends' wedding. It was a large wedding with more than 1,000 attendees, plus the bride/groom and some international guests including ourselves stayed at the Royal Orchid. I'm going to try to show pros as well as cons here, but you will be surprised how few pros there were... Firstly, check in. Staff were incredibly rude when they realised the bride did not have her Indian passport with her (even thought she had her UK passport as she has dual citizenship). The bride at this point was in her full wedding outfit, and she had to wait in the lobby whilst the management argued with her husband about her needing her Indian passport. In fact, management got incredibly angry at her, were very disrespectful to my friend, her family and her friends on her wedding day. This really put a downer on the whole day. Staff did not even offer to sit us to the side (as there was a lot of luggage) - it was so unprofessional. The only good point here was that there was perhaps 1 front desk staff member out of around 5 (including the manager) who was mildly respectful that it was a special day for the bride/groom and demonstrated some empathy towards them. Secondly, the rooms. After the ruckus at the front desk about passports for check-in, staff rushed to actually get the rooms ready (even though we were way beyond the check-in time). We had three king rooms booked. The bride/groom's room was still being decorated as the bride/groom walked in. This was supposed to be a magical moment and instead was embarassing, rude (once again due to the staff's behaviour) and downright unprofessional yet again. Bride/groom made to sit in another guest's room and actually got ready there in a massive rush due to the time lost because their own room was not ready. Third point, again for the rooms. We were given a key for our room number and told to make our own way there (carrying our luggage up the stairs - there are no lifts/escalators here, but I will go into that in another point). One member of staff awkwardly accompanied us, but had to ask US which was our room number. So, we had to tell a member of staff which room they had to let us in, which key was for which room (I'll let that sink in for the hotel industry). So, we entered the room and settled our things, then was briskly told by a member of staff that this was somebody else's room. And indeed, I could see peoples' clothes in the room. At this point, we were so frustrated and shocked by the lack of service here, we just had to laugh and apologise to the people when they did enter their own room. No good points here. Fourth point. No escalators/lifts. What?! I understand this if it was an old building, but it's NOT. This is a modern building, a modern venue holding conventions for people from all types of backgrounds - people with difficulty walking, people with heavy luggage, people in wheelchairs, people with pushchairs, people wearing their heavy, gorgeous wedding outfit and staying on the second floor! Install lifts please!!!! Fifth point. No customer service skills whatsoever. It is someone's wedding day. WEDDING DAY. They have chosen to have it at YOUR venue. And yet, when it's pouring with rain outside and the roads are muddy, and your convention centre is placed opposite the hotel, you don't offer any umbrellas or aids to help the bride/groom across to their own wedding hall? Instead, half the wedding party got soaked and the brother-in-law had to drive the bride/groom 10 seconds to the other side of the road. This is Bangalore in the monsoon season. You cater for events. Have some umbrellas at least. Sixth point. On check out, the management team wanted to charge us 4000 rupees for "staining" of petals in the wedding room suite. These were due to rose petals positioned by the hotel's own design team, in might I say a ridiculous fashion, all over the bed in their thousands. A labour of love perhaps, but the hotel placed the rose petals all over the bed. And yet, they wanted to charge the bride/groom, on the day after their wedding, for "staining" due to rose petals. That they placed there. We had just reached the end of out tether by this point and after arguing with management about how ridiculous this was, they finally gave up. In fact, we told them we would leave completely honest reviews on TripAdvisor and everywhere we could about their service, and I honestly think this shut them up. I think there are more points. But I'll leave that with you. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone, anywhere, at any time. The hotel has a lot to work on. I'm out.
