Bradley International Airport

Flights from Hartford originate from Bradley International Airport, a fifteen mile drive north of downtown Hartford. Long-term parking is available at the airport, with free shuttle service to the terminals. With thousands of spaces and frequent shuttle pickups, parking is an excellent option. If you’d rather have someone else drive, taxi service from Hartford is around $45. Several companies offer limo service to the airport, and public buses regularly stop between the city and Bradley. Once you’ve arrived, take advantage of the many quick-service and sit-down dining options, including Dunkin’ Donuts and the Black Bear Restaurant.

Arriving in Baltimore

Flights into Baltimore land at Baltimore/Washington Thurgood Marshall International Airport, commonly called BWI. If you’ve rented a car, head to the lower-level terminal to catch a free shuttle to the rental center. Light rail service is available from the airport to downtown Baltimore. The airport station is located adjacent to Concourse E on the lower level of the terminal. Several shuttles and taxis are also available and can be reserved ahead of time or at the terminal. Baltimore experiences four seasons, with the highest temperatures averaging 87°F in July and the lowest temperatures hitting 24°F in January. Bring a coat along if you’re traveling during the fall and winter months. While you’re in Baltimore, there’s plenty to do. Take the kids and visit Fort McHenry, the birthplace of The National Anthem. They’ll also be thrilled by a pirate ship ride in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Finish off the day at any one of a number of award-winning seafood restaurants.
