very dirty room. settled in the basement. the street smelled of marijuana. not pleasant hotel worker at the front desk. my English leaves much to be desired. he fined me $280 for the smell of tobacco in the room. but I don't smoke at all. I couldn't prove to him that the street smelled of tobacco.

I've been staying there for many years, but the upkeep and cleanliness went downhill for the last couple of years.

We weren't planning to get breakfast there but we were there two nights. first morning they bring out coffee and some breakfast items. I was there right when it came out, I go to grab coffee and it's empty.. I let her know (she just put it out) I hang out in reception for a while it was never filled. so no coffee, they ran out of most food (the 4 items they offer) quickly and i observed people checking and turning around. SEcond morning they didn't even attempt breakfast, nothing was brought out.. again i go to get coffee, asked and was never brought out. Place is older which is fine, was clean but bad carpet stains everywhere. you would not want to walk bare foot Staff was not friendly at all, they advertise an amenity (breakfast) they don't provide.. I don't think I will ever stay here again

The room was dirty.. the shower curtain was broken and barely attached to the wall. The bathroom fan was broken … no hand towels.. The TV had only one channel to watch.

Extremely dirty overall and smells of mold in the bathroom. I could see hair stuck to the bathroom ceiling. Carpets looked so dirty as if not vacuumed in ages. No dustbin in the bathroom, there was no coffee maker. The included morning breakfast was a joke. It was not a buffet and the front desk staff gave us what we ordered from very limited list. My boiled eggs were served ice cold with shell on. The waffles, lo and behold, were still frozen. My friend ordered a muffin, and they gave only a half of it! The nickel and dimming by the greedy owners in this property is obvious. Only positive experience was the friendly, and seemingly overworked staff.

It’s stated that breakfast would be available and I even confirmed it the night before but when it came down in the morning at 9 AM there was nothing. And there was no staff around to ask about it so I just gave up

The manager was incredible. I left my jewelry there and she contacted me to let me know if forgotten it and then mailed it to my home. Very helpful and nice!

Run down property, is in need of upgrade. Work that was done was not shotty. Room was not cleaned very well, but the staff were friendly!

This hotel at one time I am sure was a great place to stay. Now it’s old and run down. My room was clean but it had a funky smell, once I went to shut the window they left open I realized why. You could tell they had a roof leak and have never fixed the mess it made. Bed was old and but was not rock hard.

This was a business trip: Dried urine on the toilet in my room-I used my hand sanitizer to clean it. Two smashed flies in the window. Broken/leaning towel rack. Stain the the main blanket-I placed all blankets on the floor, except the fitted sheet. And slept without blankets. I have learned that you get what you pay for-I’m going to spend the extra money going forward, and have enough respect for my self to stay in a better place. I did not get a good night sleep, I just wanted the night to end so I can check out. I was checked out by 6am. Never again

The location was convenient, best the freeway and food, shopping. The property was as expected, generally clean. The room and mini ridge had some lingering odors. I found a butane torch between the bed and nightstand, suggesting the room had been smoked in. Otherwise, I got what I paid for. Thanks.

Fire hazard. the back door is locked shut with no way to get out in fire. PLace is in very shody condition and I'm guessing the place will be bulldozed within a year.

The staff didn't clean the room once, the bed liner had a tear in it, there was a spider in the room, and the TV remote needs to be reconnected by the guest occasionally.

There were carpet tacks that stuck me in the foot at the bathroom entrance, and also the tub had some kind of substance like old adhesive and grime.

Best hotel (and safest) on Samish Way. There is good-enough coffee available all day, real cream and flavored creamer beside it. Diana and Grethe Anne are personable employees, while Austen, the night manager, looks just like James Mercer from the indie band the Shins. Cleaning staff can be a bit brusque, but it's a hard, often thankless job.

I have stayed at this Hay's Inn on three or four occasions. The property is getting long in the tooth. Beds are comfortable and rooms are average in space. Fridage and microwave are handy, but the only useful outlets are on the bedside lamps, a long through from the work table. There are no useful floor outlets. Parking is convenient but the card reader to enter the parking space door is antiquated and doesn't work. Breakfast is adequate with one new wrinkly. Pancake maker that is one button push and produces an edible, albeit thin, pancake.

Exactly as advertised. A basic hotel. If you need to sleep in a bed and have a shower...this place is an option .
