Checkin Checkin was very smooth. Nancy greeted me warmly and since I've done mobile checkin, she was expecting me and recognized me as I walked in. I was very impressed that she remembered my last name. Laura had the paperwork well prepared and handed me the room key directly. Room As a platinum, I was upgraded to a very nice room. The room was clean, bright, techy. I took a very relaxing bath and had a good rest on the comfy bed. Checkout Annie greeted me by my name and we had a very warm chat. She walked me to my car and sent me off. The overall experience was very positive. I felt like home every time I stay at RC Beijing Financial Street. Annie is always the one who welcomes me and sees me off. This time it was also great to meet Nancy and Laura. I could totally feel their customer obsession. I appreciate their dedication to raise the RC standard. These are all reasons I'd stay with RC brand and I'd like to come back to this property whenever I travel to Beijing.
Different jobs have kept me on the road for 30/40% of my time for almost 2 decades, so I really appreciate when hotels go the extra mile to make you feel ‘at home away from home’. The Ritz Carlton Beijing does exactly that - it is definetly a business hotel in the middle of Beijing’s financial district, but its superb staff takes away the feeling of ‘hotelness’ in a unique, much better way. Andrew, the hotel manager, runs several properties in China and yet is as attentive to every need you have as if you were his only guest - you can really tell he loves what he does and that this is not just a job. Andrew is also surrounded by a great team. For instance, I happened to casually mention to Andrew that I was going to miss my daughter’s birthday due to my trip to China - enter Jasmine and her guest relations team; they went out and searched for the perfect gift for my daughter, wrapped it and even wrote her a birthday card! I was also exhausted and with severe neck pain from a 30-hour set of flights - enter Helen and her spa team, who designed a personalized massage treatment for me that got me going like new the next day. I needed some urgent documents printed for an important meeting - enter Alex and the club lounge team, who delivered the printed documents to my room in less than 5 minutes. I happened to have a weekend off to see some of the sights - enter Allen and the concierge team, who designed a special program with a driver and a guide so I could see most of Beijing and even climb the Great Wall (if you do organize a tour, ask for Helen to be your guide - she’s the best!). And I could go on and on - I would even recommend all business hotel managers to spend a couple of nights at the Ritz to learn from Andrew how hotel management is done. All in all, I cannot wait to be back at the Ritz, either for business, pleasure or both!
Our recent visit with the exceptional staff at the Ritz was everything a long distance traveler could want. Extra large corner room with a mountain view ( Really! the Beijing air was the clearest We have ever seen in 3 trips here) . We were staying on the Club lounge level. Which we highly recommend, if it is an available upgrade option for you. The staff would always greet us by name and very soon begin to remember our general requests and preferences. That was very nice every morning as well as at the evening drinks and small plate offerings. The range of foods and drink would accommodate almost any palate. Any needs could be addressed by the very well trained and professional people centered staff who were both fluent in several languages as well as concierge savy about the Beijing points of interest. They could arrange day sightseeing trips, shopping forays, financial institutions located nearby or specialty dining off the premises if you needed a more public venue. Mr Rogers, the hotel manager, was especially attentive to our needs, and seemed to be everywhere at once. His crack Lounge staff could always contact him for us if we had a query they could not immediately resolve. The hotel courtesy cars were very welcome for drops within the downtown financial district. It was the coldest January weather for some time. The room temperatures were always comfortable. The personal bath amenities were always well stocked with clean Giant Bath Towels twice a day. I particularly liked the dark chocolate squares you would find on your pillow after the evening turn down. Really nothing bad I can remember or report. Beijing traffic is notorious in it's own right but the hotel had little control in this area. It was a fabulous mini vacation. We will definitely return again.
My husband and I had an exceptional experience at this hotel from the welcome we received when we checked in to the moment we checked out. The management staff, as well as the staff in the club level lounge, reception area and room service personnel all made us feel pampered and special. they really went out of the way to anticipate our wants and needs. All areas of the hotel were extremely clean, well kept and appealing. Our room was a large, beautiful corner suite, well appointed with personal care amenities and conveniently located right off the Club Lounge. One of my favorite parts of our five night stay was the personal care shown by all the staff particularly the management. They were very knowledgeable and most accommodating in helping us navigate the city. I definitely will stay in this hotel again!
I stayed for two nights at Ritz-Carlton Beijing. It is high-class, elegant and professionally operated. Both the check in and out experience is pleasant. To my surprise when I check out on the date of my birthday they provide a surprise birthday gift for me. The receptionist Lily Lu’s smile is unforgettable. I also received warm hospitality from Jasmine and Pandora. I will definitely stay here again in my next Beijing visit.
I had booked an executive room and was upgraded to an executive suite. The room was very large (a small flat), elegantly furnished and extremely pleasant. The bed was excellent. The wifi was free, but subject to the usual painful restrictions in China. The breakfast is high quality with tasty products (particular in the club floor). Staff was smiling and efficient. All in all, a top-class business hotel.
The team at this hotel are a class act - the service is really exceptional. Friendly, on the ball, with excellent spoken English. There always seemed to be someone around reception who would jump to help with anything you need in an entirely natural way. That’s extremely helpful in a country which isn’t always familiar for a Western visitor and where the language barrier is often in the way, even in good hotels. The other aspects of the hotel I would rate as good (hence why I have given it a 4 overall): - Physically, the hotel is decaying a bit despite being - when built - a top Ritz Carlton property. Taps were corroded, furniture stained. It doesn’t help that the hotel is decorated in a very light palate. - Food was OK. Nothing negative to say about the breakfast buffet, but nor was anything stand out. I had a dinner dish which was not very pleasant, but probably because I ordered badly. Boiled skin on chicken isn’t my thing... - The location isn’t far from, but nor is it actually near, tourist sites. I actually ended up walking back from Tiannamen Square because I couldn’t find a taxi to take me. It took me (very fast walking) 25/30 mins. The immediate area feels very ‘business park’ (I guess the clue is in the ‘Financial Street’ name) - Ultimately you come to a hotel to sleep. The bedding was so comfortable that I overslept by 2 hours. I guess that’s good news! Would recommend. However, if I return to Beijing as a tourist, I would look for somewhere in an area with more character.
My husband and I visited this hotel in November and had a wonderful experience. There were a few little glitches but they were handled immediately by the staff. The highlight was the staff on the club floor and the hotel concierge staff who did everything they could to make us feel at home. We spoke to the concierge on our first day and he arranged private tours for us to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City that were really amazing. Our tour guide, Phillip, even took our picture at the Great Wall, had it framed and sent to our room. We were also spoiled by Alex up on the club floor who was always so friendly and welcoming whenever we walked in. In addition he made a great cocktail to my husband's liking and brewed up his special "Good Morning Beijing" coffee concoction for us every morning that rivaled any coffee shop we had ever been in. Great for jet lag. We would definitely return.
Once again Andrew and his team blew us away. From the greetings at arrival to the waving departure we were treated like royalty. Cepe Italian restaurant is an absolute MUST. Fabio’s tasting menu was exquisite as was his and Francesco’s service. Dominic and Margarete tended to every need in the club and Allen & Jasmine were on point for all other details. Our only regret was it was only 2 nights. Thank you Andrew and team once again. Was tremendous!
We stayed at the Ritz in Beijing for 4 nights and it was a great experience. Navigating around was pretty difficult but the hotel staff helped us book taxis, tours, restaurants and train tickets! Hassan, Pandora, and Julie as well as the rest of the staff went above and beyond. The hotel itself is pretty awesome too. We sat down in the lobby for a couple of hours drinking tea and enjoying the atmosphere. Our only critique would be to avoid the breakfast there, it was good but over priced. Lucky for us though Hassan suggested a really good authentic Chinese breakfast place.
