Great hotel - situated in within 10 mins walk of Tianamenn square and the forbidden city. Great pool, helpful concierge and fantastic rooms ! Highly recommend for couples or families. We stayed in a premier room with bedroom and living room felt very spacious.

I just can’t say enough wonderful things about this luxury hotel. The staff went out of their way to help us in every way and were so pleasant. Most spoke English well. Rooms were beautiful and the toilet was quite a new experience. (In a good way). Thank you for making my first stay in Beijing a memorable one.

The hotel was beautiful and in a very nice upscale location near lots of shopping. However, the restaurant was not well organized. Our group had dinner on a Tuesday night with reservations. Only half the restaurant was full and we were most of them. Our 4 course meal took 3 hours and 45 min. They were averaging an hour per course until dessert. I was even 30 minute late and my table hadn't ordered yet, so I was able to join. Between courses 2 and 3, I ran 3 blocks away to buy something I needed before the stores closed, AND DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING. Several people got up and left before completing their meals. At breakfast, a member of my group ordered eggs and got them 40 minutes later. Others left thinking they weren't going to get their order. (In fairness, the buffet is huge and delicious, but there's no omelet station and don't order off the menu if you have somewhere to be).

We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for one night in September. When we arrived we had to wait in line to enter the building and were subject to search and walked through a metal detector. When we asked the concierge why there was so much security we were told that Forum on China Africa Cooperation was happening. Since we were in Beijing for a layover, we had no idea the forum was happening. We weren't offered an apology for our inconvenience and weren't informed in advance that there would be so much security. When we finally arrived in our room it was beautiful, but there were cigarette ashes in the corner. The breakfast was one of the loveliest buffets I have ever experienced, but their failure to inform guests who had booked in advance that there would be additional waits and a fairly invasive security screening, without any real apology, was not the experience I expect from a Waldorf Astoria.

we had a premium king suite on an 8th floor and the room was absolutely excellent. The service beyond reproach. Yummy breakfast with everything you can imagine that features Chinese and European Cuisine. We were leaving before breakfast was opened and the packed breakfast boxes for us filled with sandwiches, fruit, yogurt, croissants and juices. It was a feast by itself. Location was perfect. Hotel was clean and staff very friendly.

From all our stays all over the world, the Waldorf Astoria in Beijing is definitely the best experience ever. This hotel is fabulous, very chic and stylish with incredible rooms and spectacular view. The Staff is the top of the top !! Matthew Gilbert and his team know how to pamper their guests. He advised us what to see, where to go and that made our stay unbelievably good. Rex, our personal concierge treated us like we were kings. Very thoughtful, friendly, elegant with a personal elegant style, Rex prevented all our wishes !!! I celebrated my birthday and they couldn't do anything more to make it unforgettable !! My wife and I had the best time of our life !! Waldorf Beijing knows how to pamper HH Diamond members, that's for sure !!! We booked the hotel taxi from and to the airport and it was worth every single dollar, guiding you through immigration in minutes !! We definitely will go back soon to Waldorf Beijing and will stay a considerable number of nights to enjoy this hotel. I rate this hotel 11 out of 10 !!! Thank you Matthew, thank you Rex for everything you did for us !! and our thanks to the complete Staff of this unique hotel !!

We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to China. The Waldorf Astoria Beijing was our first stop. Matthew Gilbert (Concierge Manager) met us at the door and showed us to our very well decorated room. The entire staff was very welcoming, all seemed to know it was our anniversary. The facility and location are great but the staff was special.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary in a Paris/Beijing Chinese themed extravaganza starting with four nights in Paris and ending with three night stay at WA Beijing and the WA bent over backwards to make the stay special for us. We were upgraded to a corner suite strewn with rose petals and with displays of red roses changing every day. The bathtub was readied with candles and a selection of aromatherapy oils in the evening turndown. Breakfast was excellent with fresh buttery croissants and bagels, a choice of made to order mains as well as a well thought out selection of well executed foods. Service was so attentive yet affable and everything is thought out to delight you. You don’t need to ask for anything, the staff here have thought of everything. From a fully decked toiletries drawer to modern technology compatible rooms to turndown service and staff at the ready everywhere to welcome and assist, it’s a wonder anyone can comfortably return to Paris having experienced the new wave of Chinese service!

I stayed in a corner suites with the most breathtaking view in the heart of Beijing. In the room, I was able to see the Hutong courtyards and city skyline ... Loved the diamond amenities, they have fresh and seasonal fruits prepared. I had a in-room check-in which went smoothly and saved me a lot of time since I had to head to the hospital for an appointment. Breakfast was crowded but a lot of local and western selections ... it's a beautiful hotel and staff are super nice. Special thanks to Chef Addison for arranging a chef table dinner at Brasserie 1893, it was very special and Addison's dishes were wonderful. I strongly suggest this hotel and try the chef table at brasserie 1893, you don't want to miss it.

We stayed here for a week while touring Beijing. We really enjoyed this property because of the great location, just 15 minute walk to Forbidden City, and 3 minute walk to lots of restaurants and upscale shopping. It was also about a 10 minute walk to the subway, which came in handy for sightseeing. The hotel itself was beautifully appointed, had spacious rooms with large bathrooms, and a friendly staff that will go above and beyond. There are several great hotels in Beijing, but the Waldorf has to be the best.
