Radisson Blu Hotel, Beijing4.0 out of 5.0

Been to Radisson blu for a day trip, the location is fine, you can easly find supermarkets, restaurants and transportations around. The hotel rooms is ok, it has all the basic stuff but don't expect too much, my kettle electricity socket wasn't working and the bathtub sewer was full of rust. Regarding the food it was good compared to other chinese places, i mean u can eat it with a peace of mind at least. For the services and the staff, well the staff are very friendly and trying their best but language barrier is a big issue in here and i would expect better english spoken in an international hotel. One last thing that really made my stay horrible the fact that i was denied going to the gym after 8 pm cause they close the whole health club by that time not allowing guests to use the facility even on their own risk!!! In general if you are looking for an average place with a good price in Beijing Radisson Blu is not a bad option if you don't expect too much.
This hotel was one of the typical traditional Chinese style hotel in 1990s. So it was a little bit old. I will say it was a decent hotel but everything looked old ( such as Holiday Inn in the USA). For airport transportation, it was one of a great choices, since this is next to the international exhibition center and there is a paid airport shuttle directly from/to the PEK airport.
This is a hotel which has a good location in relation to the airport and is next door to the International Exhibition Center. There are numerous restaurants nearby and if you need to do some shopping there is a large Carrefour supermarket next door. There are also a number of restaurants in the hotel itself as well as a nice lobby bar. If you are invited to the Club lounge this is nice to have a beer and a snack.
We chose this hotel because we wanted a familiar chain to stay in, partly in hope to find better service and because we wanted enough English speaking staff. The rooms were good - just the average hotel room. Be sure to specify if you want non-smoking because we had to end up switching rooms, and even once we switched to non-smoking, it still smelled of smoke. However the English proficiency was not what we expected, as we even had difficulty communicating with the concierge - I wouldn't say the concierge was very helpful in comparison to other hotels. Communicating with room service staff was also a task because of the english. Huge downside - we saw cockroaches in the sauna which was extremely disappointing. Otherwise the room and overall quality of stay was decent. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who's looking for extra hotel features like a pool, spa etc. or someone who will be spending lots of time in their hotel. They provide you with the basic necessities you need like but don't expect too much other than these services. Bed was comfortable, the room had all the facilities (safe, fridge, cutlery) and the heating system was very good - perfect for the winter.
By this point of my tour I was starving and needed carbs, the breakfast buffet did not disappoint. There's lots to choose from and I had waffles, bacon and syrup to fill up for the day. The hotels lovely and the rooms are warm. Lovely comfy beds, wifi and a clean bathroom. However, my plug in the sink wouldn't pull up so the sink just filled with dirty water by the time of checkout and when I first entered the bathroom the drain was a problem.
Great hotel and the staff will always accommodate your needs. All the hotel eateries and bar is clean and reasonable. I would stay there again. Rooms were clean however a little dated, especially the shower.
I always start by telling folks I rank all hotels on the same scale, globally. With a name like Radisson I was expecting more than I got at this hotel. I was expecting 4 or even 5 star experience but what I got was merely average. For instance: -Non Smoking floor hallway smells of smoke as soon as you step out of elevator -the HVAC control seemed only able to heat, not cool down (23/24C at night) -Room needs a little TLC (some wallpaper pealing, tiles and grout in bathroom) -Safe is present but too small to put a 13” MacBook Air Other aspects of the hotel were fine, room was nice (no smoke smell in the room itself). Bathroom was nicely appointed and decent size. Breakfast was adequate. Due to the negative aspects noted, probably would not stay here again.
First time I stayed in this hotel was in 1992. Came back in 2009 and now again in 2017. A LOT has changed in China but this hotel is still going strong. This time I stayed in a business room with good standard. Everything was fine and I could have breakfast in the lounge on the same floor. Great. It is a corporate hotel so only thing missing is more personality among the personnel.
Hotel has everything you could need. Staff are brilliant and can advise you on the best things to do in Beijing! If you can use the public transport as taxis try and over charge. getting to places away from the hotel can be difficult! Brilliant pool and also has spa facilities. there is an ATM in the hotel. This is the best option to get local Yuen! Rooms were clean spacious and bright. There are some lovely restaurants nearby, but speak little or no English. Google translate is a lifesaver! Very impressed with the hotel and its staff. Will stay here again if im in Beijing!
We stayed in Beijing for three nights as part of an escorted tour of China. Our first impressions of the hotel were very good. The lobby was very large with a contemporary feel to it and plenty of areas to sit and relax. The hotel staff were accommodating and efficient when I asked for an extra blanket. However, we found our room to be very dated and the decor old fashioned. The TV was analogue and so we could get very few channels. The bathroom had a not very white bath with matching shower curtain and you had to stand in the bath to use the shower. I had an uncomfortable feeling of unclenliness whilst using the bathroom. There were no face cloths or hand towels, only a bath towel each. The bed clothes had a perfume smell, which could have been the fabric conditioner, but it just reminded me that I was in someone else's bed. The hairdryer was a box on the bathroom wall and you had to hold the hose to dry your hair. But the hose would get hot so I had to wrap tissue around it to not burn my hand. There was no free bottled water in the room and no dressing gowns and only one pair of disposable slippers. The breakfast area was very modern and there was a variety of food. However as a vegetarian I found that I could only eat the noodless and quiche if I wanted something hot. Otherwise there was pastries, cereal or fruit. We had the in room wifi included in our package and outside the hotel there is a 24 hour convenience store and a Carrefour supermarket. Had I chosen this hotel I would have been more disappointed, but as it was part of a package tour I went along with it and took it for what it was. If I had the option I wouldn't stay here again.
