Perfect location for old beijing exhibition center. Supermarket is nearby, metro station is 500 meters away. Hotel is upper class business. Breakfast has wide choice of western and Chinese. Dining restaurant serves only chinese food. Lunch and off-hour dining / drinking are high priced but good quality. Rooms are just what needed for business staying. Personnel is nice and helpful at any time. Printing service is charged 1 or 2 euros per page. Good gym/pool/sauna facilities.
This hotel is well placed for transport to the Forbidden City, the Lama Temple and more. We found the hotel to be well run, friendly and eager to help. Good restaurants....breakfast is great. Good laundry service. The staff are very helpful at getting taxis and looking after your luggage should you need it. Would happily stay there again.
This very friendly hotel has the best breakfast I’ve ever had in a hotel buffet. The choices are terrific. Rooms are none smoking but probably there’s not a truly non smoking room in China. Easy access by cab to anyplace in Beijing. Easy walk to the subway station.
The hotel is within the central area of Bejing but the distances to everywhera are huge. For reaching the forbidden city and temple of heaven as well as the summer palace one has to spend 45 to 60 minutes. The hotel itself is comfortable, although the prices for consumation are horribly high (a beer at the bar ~ 50 Yuan, as compared to ~ 15 in a bar close by). However, just across the street there is a shopping center with a dozen or more pleasant little restaurants where ond can have very good and cheap food. Next door there is conveniently also a large Carrefour supermarket.
Our 3 night stay was good the room was pleasant and of a good size, the bathroom nice and clean. we stayed only having breakfast which was good, we enjoyed a drink at the bar of the hotel. staff very friendly
I will start my review by saying that I am not a great fan of Radisson Blu hotels. My experiences with them have been very varied, but generally disappointing. The Beijing hotel good have been a lot better, but by some of the Radisson Blu hotels i have stayed at it was reasonable. We arrived later afternoon and were met by friendly reception staff. We were welcomed and all of the facilities were explained to us, and the location of the breakfast room was clearly explained. However, the key fobs were handed to us without being activated! The people checking in ahead of us had the same problem with a different receptionist, so perhaps some re-training may be required. The room was small and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also small, and clean. although there was some mould visible in the shower, but only a very small amount. There was also some surface rust on the shower fitting. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of bedding and plenty of pillows and the bedding was fresh. The view from the room was not brilliant, but given the location I don't think any room was going to get a good view. The breakfast room was bright and there was always a very friendly member of staff on the door. The choice was good, and with each section, e.g. cereals, hot, fruit, tea and coffee etc. in different parts of the restaurant meaning that nowhere got over busy and overall breakfast was a busy experience. The food was of good quality in the restaurant was high. The service on the inside was lacking. Telling a member of staff that something had run out was generally met with a blank response, and nothing happened. We were never shown to a table and found the staff on the inside would do anything to avoid interacting with guests. The other issue we had was that staff would remove trays of food for topping up whilst guests were taking food from the tray and would ignore guests using the coffee machines when they wanted to clean it. On one occasion a member of staff walked over the coffee machine I was using, removed my cup which was being filled with coffee and switched off the machine to clean it. We used the grill restaurant on one evening and were very impressed with both the quality of the service and the quality of the food. There is not a huge choice on the menu, but you don't need a huge choice. Even with a small choice I am sure that there is something in both the starter and the main course options that would suit most people. There is also a good choice of wines, and at reasonable prices. The food we chose was excellent, both well presented and well cooked. The exception was the Swedish apple cake I had for dessert which, even with a sauce, was still very dry. The bar across from reception was pleasant, but lacked atmosphere. The service was reasonable, but the staff often seemed unwilling to provide table service, preferring guests to go to the bar to order. One thing that really annoyed me - we charged something to our room at about 5.30pm in the afternoon. At 10.45pm we were called by reception to let us know that the charge to the room should not have been made. Instead of leaving it until morning, the person insisted that I came downstairs to sort the matter out. It was confirmed that they had not tried calling our room before the late evening call. How to avoid this situation - make sure the receptionist takes your credit card on check-in. Something else our receptionist on check-in forgot to do! The other point about this hotel is that it is not cheap by any standard. A gin and tonic, using the cheapest gin, will cost in excess of £7, a Chinese beer is about the same. A cake with afternoon tea is over £6, with the tea itself costing in excess of £5. The hotel staff spoke good English on the whole. The service could be significantly improved. Overall, one of the better Radisson Blu experiences that I have had, but could have been a lot better with service improvements and with slightly cheaper prices, which we found excessive, even by Beijing standards.
A well kept clean hotel. The staff were helpful, they phoned a restaurant for us & also flagged down a taxi for us during a very busy time (rush hour in Beijing!!). The breakfast was good as was the food we got in the bar area. There is a convenient Carrefour close by. Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable as the mattress was quite hard. We would recommend this hotel, especially if you like a very firm bed.
Rooms are large. But not entirely clean. My room was dusty, and the bathroom plug was not working. Tried to call to fix it, not sure if the phone was working. The restaurant was fantastic, breakfast spread was amazing.
Everything was good other than only one thing that it is totally Non Smoking premises. It is little more expensive. I had stayed there because it is near by Exhibition center. But I was very much satisfied.
I have lived in China for 11 years. Nowadays I go back for a few days a year and it is the first time I visit Radisson Blu. I was impressed. The complemèntary super buffet breakfast is not only very good with good variaty, but very well presented. The coffee machine is great (and I am from Italy!). The room was clean and the staff from reception to waitresses were kind, clean, respecful and knowledgeble. Thanks to the reservation team as well as they helped and promptly teplied my enquieries. Wifi is everywhere in the hotel and They let me use the business longe pc with no charges.
