Very terrible, rundown hotel with bad services. Definitely not staying again and not recommended.

Standard rooms are small, dim, and have no windows. I was in the A building on a lower floor and the hotel staff won't give me a room with windows after i requested. Don't get standard rooms, I've never lived in such a sub-par hotel. Definitively will not stay here again

We stayed in 'Superior Room' for two time periods. We had terrible views. The second room smelled like cigarettes. My daughter felt sick of the smell after 2 days when the smell became very strong. Smoking is not permitted in the hotel. The hotel staff was nice to change our room. The third room smelled much better and was not facing any pipe, like the first two. I stayed in this hotel several times before with better rooms and memory.

I stayed at this hotel for a few days in July and a few days in August (it is a pity that I prepaid for the stays). The first 'Superior Room' I stayed in had a view of ugly pipes, but I tolerated it. The second superio room I was assigned to had a terrible view and felt unsafe as it is on the second floor above a back alley. I asked to have a different room so that I was assigned to another room facing a wall (photo below).

I have stayed at several Novotel hotel all over Europe. Most of them are in excellent conditions. Some even new. Your hotel was old, has bad maintenance and was rather disappointing. The only advantage is its location, which is walking distance from important sites and shopping malls. I recommend a full overhaul. The air conditioning in my room didn't´t work. The 2 elevators are definitely not enough for so many people. It took me 15 minutes de go down to the lobby with my baggage.I am a Club Member.

A bit unorganized with Orbitz reservation but pleasant, convenient to train station. If u have heavy luggage be prepared for no escalators, ramps etc. Room was great for the price and clean, first room they tried to put us in smelled like a cigarette factory so we quickly changed to a much more convenient room overlooking the expensive breakfast buffet area. Walking distance to the square or opposite direction for shopping. Have umbrellas handy. Overall a good experience for price, location and cleanliness.

Great location, in the center of the city. Subway entrance right in front of the hotel. Not the newest hotel, but our room was clean and well kept. Staff courteous for the most part, although some of the doormen smoke. A few speak broken english so be patient. Overpriced restaurants and cafeteria. Overall, a great stay.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights- it is close to my meetings- really surprised about the value. Great restaurant too.

Multiple times staying here, great location. Breakfast is 6-10 am and very good. Price was 70 RMB per person during our stay and worth it as getting a good breakfast in an unfamiliar place can be a challenge.

the hotel is right outside of the metro station so that's convenient. The only bad thing was they couldn't find my reservation and asked me to forward the e-mail to them. But, gmail doesn't work in China! It worked out at the end, but it took longer than I'd have liked to check in.

Great location, Beijing subway line 2 and 5 are right outside the front door, price is always reasonable, staff is great and speak english... and most important; soft beds!

The hotel is really close to the subway, just a few steps away. The bed is a bit hard. The coffee is excellent.

I chose this hotel due to its location to Beijing Train Station. When I arrived I was able to check in quickly and get to my room with no hassles. The room was clean and neat. My only complaint was that the AC did not seem to work right since I prefer a cooler room at night. Right outside the hotel is the entrance to the Line 2 subway system, which for about .33 cents gets you around the city with a minimum of effort. There is a large shopping center nearby with numerous places to eat for any kind of cuisine desired. In all, I would stay at this hotel again if able.

I couldn't believe how rude the front desk agent was. I had issues checking in. The agent was extremely rude and pretty much dismissed me and had moved on to the next guest without resolving mine. I never did get to check into my room - no help! I saw my friend's room and found it bit outdated, but clean. However, due to the location, this is the best bet as the price is great. Don't expect smiles or customer service. Totally a no frills hotel.

Im a visiting student from the USA on a budget and this hotel was perfect. Clean, good helpful staff, close to forbidden city and temple of heaven as well as subway that can get you anywhere else. Exceeded expectations. Bed was hard but has been everywhere I've been in china so far.

Better-than-average for Novotel brand. The subway station for two lines (#2 and #5) literally right outside the front door. Two huge shopping malls one block away, and only about 20 minute walk (or one stop) to T-Square. Two stops to Hongqiao Pearl Market. Several restaurants inside the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful Full-service concierge plus separate transportation desk.

Great location, near many main tourist attractions and convenient location next to subway. Good service, English speaking staff, and good value for price paid. Tour agencies that the concierge partners with are overly expensive but that's probably not entirely within the hotel's control.

Excellent Hotel. Centrally located within Beijing. Rooms clean and hotel staff helpful. Would recommend this stay to anyone.

Solid hotel with a good location. Beside two train lines. Rooms very clean. Would recommend a stay.

This hotel is very clean and it strategically located in close proximity to the subway which is very convenient to get to the major attractions the city has to offer. You can get to anywhere via subway for less than 35 cents. The hotel staff have a good command of English and are very friendly & service oriented. I highly recommend the Tang Restaurant for Dim Sum and dinner. A fabulous Cantonese style restaurant. The hotel name "Xin Qiao" is well know to most of the taxi drivers.
