This is a cozy hotel which is located at a central place for the city. Very near to business center and makes it very a good place to select for a short stay. This is a good business hotel with general needs and a very good restaurant which has a good range of breakfast spreads!
There is a Holiday Inn just 200 meters away from this hotell. I found myself going there for the bar and breakfast. Neither is bad at this hotel but both are much more suited for business trips. This hotel is better for a quick visit where you will spend most of your time out of the hotel.
The location is good, it is close to Wangjing Soho and is close to airport. There is shopping mall next to it which included restaurant and convenient store. The hotel itself is a bit old especially the bathroom is not very well maintanced. Breakfast has a good variety- from traditional chinese breakfast to western cereal and it varies a bit daily. The room is well made up everyday by the housekeeper. The bed sheet got a bit stained but it doesnt bother me. Sincerely wish that the front desk will recognise guests better and hope to be greeted by waiters in restaurant in breakfast time. Overall quite a pleasant stay.
This hotel has seen better days. There was nothing really wrong with the hotel but I am not rushing back. It was a nightmare getting to it from the airport. I think the driver got lost. I recommend printing a map and having the full name and address of the hotel in Chinese if you want to avoid a magical mystery tour.
I was initially disappointed at this hotel in general: There are only 2 elevators, so they get very crowded during breakfast hours, the room condition is bad with wet carpets in the hallway, and most importantly the wifi is SLOOOW, and it is not even useable, I had to use my mobile hotspot for the duration of the stay because the wifi simply just doesn't work. However, I have to say that the staffs are friendly, helpful and very professional. The location of the hotel is good, but not that ideal: it's about 10 minutes to the closet subway station but you have to be able to navigate through many alleyways (it took me 30 minutes to go there the first time). Also, Wangjing Soho is within 15 minutes walk and there are many dining options there. Overall I would say this is a motel using holiday inn express brand, don't expect anything other than bed breakfast and shower. Also be aware of the price and hidden fees, I booked though IHG website for ~450 yuan, and when I checked in the price jumped to over 550, so be aware of this over 100 yuan per night hidden fees.
Think of the pleasant and affordable Holiday Inn that you've stayed at in the past. Now erase those expectations. This hotel seems to have been one of those Chinese hotels that Holiday Inn bought out and never really renovated. I chose this because I thought it was near a subway line, which it kind of is. It's probably a 10 minute walk and you'll probably get lost the first time you head there because you have to weave through an alley way and through another hotel. There aren't enough elevators, so in the morning, if you are staying on a high floor, be prepared to stop at every floor going down. There is a secret service elevator around the corner on my floor that I found which was helpful. The hallways are all smoky. I'm not sure if they have non-smoking rooms. I came during the peak of summer and the AC was not strong enough. I would wake up sweaty with no way to turn the AC stronger. The shower also leaks out of door and the water can take a while (~20 minutes) to heat up. Wifi was also slooooow. It only worked on the weekend when no one is there. The breakfast was decent as long as you're not hoping for omelettes and waffles. Mostly traditional Chinese foods. The area itself is nothing special. There's a large electronics department store nearby, a McD's, Dunkin Donuts and some Chinese noodle shops. Relatively easy to get a taxi cab. Otherwise, the staff are pretty friendly and you can check out early without telling them. Also, you should note that there is a Holiday Inn on the same block and another Holiday Inn Express in another part of WangJing, so make sure you tell you cab driver that you're going to Futong Dong Da Jie.
We stayed here as a family during the second leg of our vacation in Beijing. The rooms are small, but well furnished. Beds are comfortable. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room itself. There's a self-do laundry facility - you can get the coins for operating the washing machine from the reception. Breakfast spread is great. Quite a lot of variety and food is good too, There are many restaurants and fast food joints around as well. The only problem we faced was a constant disturbance due to the the elevator noises. The elevator kept humming a deep 'uhmmmm...' sound all day and night that was quite troublesome. Apart from that, the hotel is quite recommendable.
Decent rooms for a good rate. Not much for good shopping nearby but a couple blocks form the metro makes getting around fairly easy. Staff is reasonably friendly. Would recommend higher floor rooms for quietness.
Have stayed here numerous times over the years. Was here last in Sep this year. Service help must be horrible to hire these days. Simple requests for simple tool was met with indifference - that's the only one we have at the front desk. After a long 14 hour flight - didn't feel like tripping downstairs in underwear - so asked front desk staff to deliver tommy room and let me use for a minute. Asking to speak to the manager on charge - told no one around till morning. The previous front desk staff seems to be much better and not as surly. If not for proximity to airport - would not return. Next time would look harder for alternatives.
the rooms are full of dust and stinky, feels like someone just smoked 100 cigarettes inside. I don't mention the toilet. the service is horrible, even though I speak perfect chinese the girls at the reception were always rude. the breakfast was terrible. I would never suggest this hotel even to my worst enemy.
