The rooms were clean and the hotel is right next to a Subway line. Otherwise, it's an older, somewhat odd building. We took the subway train from the airport to the subway station and had a hard time finding the entrance to the hotel from the station - there is not a lot of signage in the area to point you in the right direction. There is a giant mall next to the hotel with some good restaurants, especially a dumpling restaurant we liked a lot. The breakfasts at the hotel were okay. Staff was friendly but not super knowledgeable about tourism or restaurants nearby. We struggled with the language barrier a bit as not many of the staff spoke English. But they did try, and they were very friendly.
Have stayed here three times. The rooms are large and clean and the staff is friendly. The location is right on the number 10 subway and the olympic park is walking distance. There is a restaurant on the first floor however, I have not tried it. There are typically breakfast vendors outside.
The hotel rooms are very good and well equipped. Difficult to communicate as most hotel staff knows only chinese language. The food served in the breakfast is mostly chinese with no varities from other cuisines. The currency exchanging machine is out of service.
Hotel are 5 -7 mins from Subway and 15 mins walk to Olympic Stadium. Room are clean and staff are friendly as well. Beside hotel have one mall that food street and the food are worth try out with reasonable price.Overall satisfied with the stayed.
This is far far to Chinese style to be a good hotel for Westerners. Especially is the breakfast terrible. Room are great. I really do not know why Holiday inn do not want these hotels have a more international image.
This hotel is nice. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is friendly and speaks some English. It is down an alley and if I hadn't taken a taxi there when I first arrived, I never would have found it. I will say it is close to Beitucheng Subway line. When you exit the subway, take the SW exit, turn right. Turn right at the stop light into the alley and walk a short distance. The hotel will be on the right hand side. You will see the sign. Walk around the sign and up the ramp into the hotel lobby. The wifi did not work in my room and I could not use my computer, except to upload photos. The breakfast is nothing to brag about. I have stayed in other HI Express hotels, and their buffets were outstanding. This doesn't compare in the least. It is your basic Chinese breakfast, except for some cereal and bread to toast. They do offer fried eggs and hard boiled eggs, but no meat except in the steam buns, and some contain vegetables. The breakfast buffet is from 6:30-10, however, I would suggest to wait til probably about 7 for the chef to begin making fried eggs. It is not very far from Olympic Park, probably about 20 minutes; and it is located next to an RT Supermarket/mall. So those are pluses, as well as being close to the subway If you exit on the opposite side of the mall, you will not be far from the hotel, and there is a McDonalds, bakery (very good) and the China Ethnic Museum (which I did not go to). If you end up on this side, take 3 right turns to get back to the hotel. The jewelry mall will be your landmark.
We stayed here on our tripadeal tour of china and found this hotel to be clean and comfortable although the bed mattress was very hard , we stayed in early spring and the whole hotel was like a sauna including our room , even turning the control on the wall off! didn't make much difference and we sweated took until early hours of the night to cool down The heating was due to be turned off! all over Beijing couple days after our visit The staff were friendly but speak little English which is a challenge sometimes but not insurmountable Breakfast was quite good with selection of Chinese food and western food main problem we found was that the hotel is poorly located with only a shopping mall nearby which is pretty good and a general store next door open 24 hours but in the General vicinity there's really not much!! yes the Olympic birds nest and water cube not too far away that may have been handy during the Olympics if staying here but if you wanted to stroll around and check out the nightlife forget it there's not much around
It was so warm inside the room make me hardly to fall asleep. Even it's going to Spring now, still the cooling system inside the room is still WARM! I can open the tiny window, but so bad my room was facing indoor and can't help to lower down the room temperature.
Great location north of forbidden city. Walking distance to two metro lines that goes four directions. Hotel is little dated since the 08 Olympics Game. But great price with good choices for breakfast included. Walking distance to the Olympics park and right next to Minzuyuan which you can learn a lot about all the minority Chinese cultures.
i stayed at this hotel from Jan 17-21 2017 as I was in town for a business meeting. The location is not too central to the main attractions downtown, but it was suitable for me as I had a business meeting in the hotel. Check in was no problem at all. The staff are very friendly and there were no language issues (English wasn't perfect, but hey, its not an English speaking country!) we were able to understand each other and that is what's important. Breakfast was included, and it was quite good by hotel standards. A good mix of Asian and Western food-I preferred the Asian. The hotel is extremely clean. There are always staff members around tidying up and making sure everything is spotless. On my first day, I was working in my room and getting over jet lag so I had the do not disturb sign on my door all day. They called my room later in the day to ask if they could clean it for me. I have never had that in a hotel before. The room was extremely spacious, including the washroom. The shower was fantastic, good pressure and hot water. The only reason I am giving this hotel a 4 instead of a 5 is due to noise. One day (granted I was sleeping during the day), I was awoken by a very loud event going on in the courtyard on the 1st floor. My room is on the 7th floor. As I said, it was during the day, so not too much to complain about. As I write this however, on a Friday evening there is another event going on in the courtyard. it is very loud already and lots of flashing lights. I asked someone in the lobby if there was a big party tonight and he said "oh yes!" so I don't imagine I will be getting too much sleep tonight before my very early flight in the morning. Oh well, c'est la vie :-) Overall, I was very happy with this hotel and would return. Tip-if you go to the Forbidden City, don't talk to anyone that wants to practice their English! Its a huge scam and will cost you a lot of money
