We ended up needing 5 rooms last minute and this hotel was wonderful and accommodating. The facility was clean, had a wonderful breakfast, and met all our expectations. I would stay again for sure. We were able to walk to some fun local spots for authentic cuisine, and were very happy with the stay.
Room is comfortable. Big, comfortable bad, convenient desk, big bathroom. Staff was helpful but as in many hotels in China check-in and check-out process slowly. Breakfast includes many options and good coffee. Recommended
I had been to many Holiday Inn brand hotels in U.S, while this is my first visit to Holiday inn branch in China. This is definitely the best holiday Inn I had ever been to, excellent service, clean room, fantastic breakfast. The gym was a little bit small, but still well maintained.
One of the best stays so far. Friendly staffs, spacious rooms, baby cot, bathrooms with bath tub and a huge variety of food for breakfast. At walking distance from the hotel, you can find small eat outs, supermarkets, and a park.
The international standards of the Holiday Inn brand mean you know what you're getting and won't be disappointed. The hotel is smart and clean, the staff polite with reasonable English, and the rooms comfortable and cool (it was baking outside). This hotel is well-placed for the new Metro extension, enable easy travel to anywhere in central Beijing. There's a pool and gym which I found easy to use and clean. There's also an Indian (as well as Chinese) restaurant in the hotel with surprisingly authentic food.
Standard Holiday Inn level: room large and comfortable, with good bed and acoustic insulation. The bathroom was well equipped but I was not completely at ease with the glass cabins for the closet and the shower/pool. One of the two showers was impossible to direct, so after the shower the pool cabin was a pond. Two water bottles (1 liter overall) free every day, also because drinking tap water is not recommended. Persistent cigarette smoke smell in the room, but I suppose it was not their fault (air pollution in Beijing IS an issue). Also the view from the windows on both sides displayed poorly. The breakfast room was ok, although I was not attracted by the variety of Asian solution (noodles, fried vegetables etc.) and the standard Southern Europe solutions were not so varied (bread & butter, two sorts of jam, yogurth): moreover, the breakfast crew was rather unprofessional in basic issues such as table cleaning, addressing the newcomer to a free table, and serving coffee with sugar, or with a teaspoon, or both. Up to here, the hotel would deserve at maximum three dots... but it well deserves four due to the sport area! I never tried the gym, but I tried every single morning that I could the swimming pool, that was large (about 15 m in length), clean and properly equipped - not to mention a smaller Jacuzzi hydromassage pool. What's more important, the sport area opens at 6:00 a.m., which allows you to have 1 hour of sport at least before breakfast. The immediate surrounding of the hotel are unattractive and do not offer much solutions (shops, restaurants...) but two subway stations are at reasonable distance and the Tsinghua campus is just a short walk away.
It's decent hotel if you have to be in this part of Beijing. It's located near Tsinghua university and about 20 mins walk to nearest shopping and restaurant area. It can be difficult to get a taxi even at the hotel unless you book way in advance. Hence plan you trip ahead.
We arrived in Beijing on a 90ºF (32C) day. We checked into the hotel at about 9PM. The room was hot, so I turned on the AC and went to sleep. I woke up soaked in sweat. I took the blanket out of the duvet, tried to go back to sleep and couldn't. The room was too hot. I went to the front desk and told the receptionist that the air conditioning wasn't working in my room. She said she would have someone check it out. When no one did, I went back asked the same person what was going on. She told me the hotel is centrally air conditioned and the manager turns off the air conditioning at 9 at night. Bottom line, there is no air conditioning in this hotel as far as I am concerned.
The hotel was extremely nice. The staff was very friendly and they have a nice Indian restaurant with an Indian manager. The food was surprisingly good. The rooms were nice and big with all the amenities.
We stay here for two night, the room is cosy and we have an excellent sleeping time. Modern room with boiling pot, you can boil hot water, tea or coffee at any time. Universal plug is at the working desk, so you don't have to bring your own plug. Shower is good, water flow is strong, warm and mild lighting which mellow our mind. Strong wifi and is free. The only unfavourable thing is the location, no other restaurant nearby, you have to walk 15 minutes. Subway is 10 minutes walk. Staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast is excellent, but very crowded after 0730, please go there earlier, plenty of choices, including hot dog, sushi, Indian curry samosa.
