Grand Skylight Catic Hotel Beijing

the hotel is currently being renovated - but only the entrance way and ground floor - but beware!. Stayed one night and at RMB 800 was fair for business hotels in Beijing. Staff were a little slow and English was a bit limited. Room was clean, shower good and WiFi free and of a fair speed. Excellent location to see the Olympic complex - Cube, stadium, walk....

The best thing about the hotel was the location next to the Birds Nest stadium. The hotel was only ok, and unfortunately was the worse of the ones we stayed in on our tour of China. The bed was really hard. An engineer was called to amend the air conditioning to all the tour party rooms as it was way too hot. Beware that most of the items are chargeable and they physically go and check the room in case you have used/taken anything before you can check out. They accused us and someone else in our party that we had taken a red mask! We hadn't even seen the mask. Luckily our Chinese tour guide sorted it out for us.

Nice hotel , so clean , quaint and quiet , great for business men , nice place , service good and the staff helpfully , the breakfast so nice and nice view near the Beijing Studium hope to visit it again

Rooms are small but clean and decently decorated. Breakfast is too expensive and mostly Chinese food but a reasonable selection of western food. Staff is freindly and accommodating. Its a bit too far from the city but very close to the olympic stadion - if you use the well working metro go to Olympic Green ... its a nice walk and the closest one. Best for business travelers

I was in the Skylight Catic for business. It is fareaway of everyhting. The only reason to stay in there is if you are going to work in the area. My first time in that district was in 2009. There was nothing but the venues for the Olimpics. it looked like country side. 6 years later buildings showed up as mushrooms. The area is crowed by now. It is not pedestrian friendly. If you want to go to Tiananmen Square or a more touristic place during your stay there are 2 options of subway: Olimpic Sport Center Station and Olimpic Park Station. Definitly forgive Olimpic Sport Center. It is almost impossible to cross the highway that is completly sourrounded by fences. The hotel itself does not have anything interesting. Employers do not speak English (most of them) and are not useful helping with directions or other issues. The cleanliness in the rooms is not its highlight (not durty but...). And, as most of the business hotels in China, they are designed for men. I hate to find in my room rasors, boxers, and all kind of male stuff. The breakfast was good+, maybe the best of this hotel. I guess that the cheeses were French because they were delicious as well as the variety of Chinese, Korean and Asian dishes. I ate in the same place that they served breakfast (there is another restaurant in the hotel but I did not find it) at night and the food was not good and no ambiance at all. To move from this place around the city is hell. Too far away from everyhting but the internatrional airport. Stay there if you travel to Beijing just for a short stay for business. CDo not stay if you want to enjoy the city and visit the touristic places.

The hotel has been constructed just before the Olympic games, and it has not been renovated since. Therefore the rooms looks a little bit old. There was some construction going on during my stay so I assume that they are planning to renovate it for the next winter Olympics. The western restaurant is lacking of quality but it is quite fair. I faced some difficulties in communication with the staff but in general it was a nice service.

This hotel is good for business man. it have facilities for meeting and write things and copy documents etc.. it is in best location for business man , in the Beijing city. it is near by olimpic village in the Beijing. I have good time in this hotel

Having twice stayed at the nearby National Jade, I can tell you this is definitely an upgrade on that - although it is far from perfect. There is dodgy wifi and I was accused of not paying for room service when I had paid with cash the previous night. The rooms had not had any love since the 2008 Olympics but were comfy enough and, despite the sour ending, the staff were good enough to help with an early check-in upon arrival. I'd probably stay here again if heading to the Bird's Nest given it is so close.

300m from stadium, great Chibese restaurant and cafe bar in hotel Some renovation ongoing but not noisy Hotel cars great value Rooms large and clean Toiletries in bathroom, excellent laundry service, Caring and efficient staff Would stay if back in Beijing

it is a relic from 1980s, and not touched since then, I guess banking on being next to the Beijing Olympic Park. The hotel is very disappointing and even at Chinese levels would hardly make 3 stars. Rooms are very small, bathroom is even smaller, they still have the bathtub (very old) with shower curtain (very old too). When I asked for the minibar fridge not working, the answer I received was "they are not supposed to work, all rooms are like that". My advice stay away from it, it doesn't even worth half of 600-700 Yuan you would pay.
