This hotel was a walk to the shopping malls and plenty of eating outside of the hotel. The breakfasts & dinners were very good too. Overall a very pleasant stay with courteous staff. The rooms were spacious and clean. A very comfy bed and great amenities.

The location of the hotel is steps away from the subway entrance and also next to a shopping center with groceries and restaurants. The hotel staff were astonishingly responsive and polite which truly resembled a 5 star experience. The Hilton Honors Gold and Platinum members are even up for a much nicer surprise as the executive lounge is very nicely appointed with a city view and excellent food and service. The breakfast included a large selection of Chinese and international food with a greater variety in the lobby level restaurant than the executive lounge. Also, the General Manager was accessible and very responsive to guest feedback and requests. I will definitely recommend this hotel given the price and service.

The majority of my Beijing stays are at this hotel. It is excellent value for the money, and a pleasure to stay at. Philip and Sandra are two people who make my stays more enjoyable. Philip, head of Easy Kitchen restaurant on the ground floor and Sandra of the Executive Lounge on the 21st floor are always very helpful and accommodating. Sandra also remembered me from my previous two stays over the past two years. At check-in, Sandra upgraded me (likely due to me being a Diamond member of HHonors) to a very spacious and nice two room suite on the 21st floor. This is very convenient, as the Executive Lounge is on this floor. An ongoing renovation project is refreshing the property. During check-in, I was offered the customary warm chocolate chip cookie. Then shortly after arriving at my room, a compilmentary box of six chocolates plus a plate of fruit was delivered. Nightly, I received two pieces of dark chocolate with the bed turndown service. There are fewer breakfast food offerings in the Executive Lounge, but the trade-off is the more relaxing chairs, ambiance, and easier to have conversations since it is much quieter. Lounge wait staff are attentive, helpful and friendly, but so is Philip and all the staff of Easy Kitchen. Thus, I have some of my breakfasts in Easy Kitchen and others in the 21st floor Executive Lounge. On the third floor, there is a well-equipped fitness centre, very nice pool, spa, and large outside garden. Now being close to mid-winter, the beauty of the garden, with walkways and statues, does not show. On a sunny day of this stay, I walked through the garden and its outdoor invigorating fresh air. This is a high occupancy hotel with many returning guests. Its average occupancy of about 90%, suggests that there are many things that guests like about it. For me, I keep returning to this Doubletree hotel for its location, HHonors loyalty program, guest room quality, variety and quality of food offerings, friendly staff, high English proficiency of most staff, value for the rate paid, and easy access to the Metro with the nearest station being 85 metres away. I wanted to get information on opera performances from the ground floor concierge. This attendant had limited English capability and did not understand my request. This is an exception, as most others I spoke to had fairly good English speaking capabilities. On the other hand, I am in China and can’t speak Mandarin or Cantonese . . . Why should I expect them to speak one of my two languages? From and to the Beijing Capital Airport, an easy, fast, and inexpensive way of getting to the hotel is by metro/subway. Travel time each way is about one hour and 20 minutes. From the airport, take Airport Express to Line 2 of the Beijing Metro (subway); Airport Express one-way trip costs 25 rmb. Then switch to the Metro and take Line 2 to Line 4, followed by Line 4 to Line 7. Once getting on Line 7 at Caishikou Station, go two stations to Daquanying Station. At Daquanying Station, leave through Exit C and go to the nearest sidewalk. At the sidewalk, turn right and walk 85 metres to the Doubletree. Using the combined Airport Express and Metro, the one-way cost to the hotel will be about 30 rmb (25 + 5 rmb). To use the Metro system, it is best to buy a Metro card. I think the minimum purchase price is 50 rmb. It saves a lot of time waiting to buy individual tickets. Two issues with the Metro are if you have heavy or a lot of luggage. In the older sections of the Metro system, there are no or very few escalators. Thus, going up and down stairs can be problematic. During Rush Hour the trains are crowded, and occasionally you have to wait for one or two trains to go past before getting on. However, during Rush Hour, the trains are often only two minutes apart. Also, this waiting is nothing to the waiting one does on the roads. The taxifare for the airport –hotel trip normally costs 140 to 230 rmb. The higher end is incurred during Rush Hour when the trip can take two hours or more. During non-Rush Hour, the travel time is in the 50 to 60-minute range. The Beijing Metro card is also usable on the Shenzhen Metro. My attached approximate 84 photos include the Beijing Metro (subway) system. This is to assist those taking the Metro to and from the Doubletree. I keep copies of the metro map on my mobile phone. Expanding the portion of the map I want to look at makes it easier to read than the non-expandable paper map.

A group of international business people descended on Beijing to collaborate and present some work. The stay was very comfortable and the executive lounge was well staffed and a good area to work in. Happy hour was always a welcome time after the days work. It was a great stay and will definitely head there again when returning to Beijing.

It was my worst stay in any Hilton hotels ever. I checked in at Monday midnight and felt extremely warm (over 80 F). I tried to turned the AC into cold mode but it didn’t work at all. I called the front desk and told them my concern and they told me all they could do is to open the window for me. I didn’t sleep well and in the next morning I called the room service to see if they had anything to provide to lower the temperature in the room. They sent me a cooling fan but it didn’t work at all. The fan tried his best but the heating machine was a lot more stronger. I also asked them to open the window for me but that was also helpless. At the last night, I talked to them again about it since I didn’t sleep well last two nights and I felt so sleepy. I told them i just needed some place to have a good dream and finally they sent me to another room. However, they told me it could be cold. I didn’t realize it was THAT cold. The room temperature could be as low as 40 F. Finally, at my last night staying at this hotel, I caught a cold. This is my first negative review of a Hilton hotel and I hopefully this is my last time. P.S. the volcano room number is 1723 and the Arctic room number is 743.

Spent 5 days here in January. We were upgraded to a suite which was very spacious. Breakfast was good every day and the lounge had nice offerings. Food ran out often, however it was replaced quickly. Hotel is also attached to a mall with a supermarket, McDonald, and dominoes which was convenient.

The breakfast cannot be better. Excellent choice and variety in a comfortable encironment. The rooms feel very cold as the windows are not properly sealed. Myself and a colleague had the same problem. We both had to change rooms. Several rooms need to be checked for insulation.

The hotel was more than I thought it to be. The staff spoke English were helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and modern. What I have to rave about is the breakfast buffet all you can eat with such a large variety of options from dim sum to baked goods to decadent and scrumptious sweets, not too leave out the traditional cereals, eggs and bacon. My only comment is if you want to get out of the hotel and go for a drink elsewhere everything is closed.

Excellent Hilton hotel just outside the south west side of the 2nd ring in Beijing, close to major attractions and Beijing West train station. Subway is half a block away. Starbuck, department store, super market are within the adjacent Rainbow mall. Andy from the concierge desk is extremely helpful in providing all info, sim card, mobile apps that we need to navigate, sightseeing and eat around Beijing. He is simply the best! There were renovation going on at the same floor we were on. The construction noise is minimal but still woke me up one night. I still rate this hotel with 5 stars despite of this mishaps.

the service and staff was nice and the room was clean but the hardware was kind of old. The room was cold because the air conditioner didn't work very well. Also, I can hear some noise from the TV in another room.
