The hotel was clean with enough amenities in the room for a satisfying stay. Shower was just right. The buffet breakfast offered a lot of choices including American, Chinese and international cuisine. The coffee was good and strong. The pastries and bread were French-like. The room was a decent size.
This is our first time on a complete tour by Gate1 and our first time experiencing China. This hotel was overall a lot nicer then I thought prior to arriving. The lobby for check in is a bit small, but serves its purpose. The check in process to some time because we were with a group of 33 people and they needed copies of all our passports. The stay was good. Rooms are clean, and beds were comfortable. The only complaint is that my husband is 6’ and they had us in single beds...therefore it wasn’t the best sleep for him. The room had all the amenities like bottled toiletries and water. They were a little stingy on the towels, only 2 bath towels. Overall, the room was good. The elevator was terrible. They only had two, and it took at least 10 minutes to get the elevator to go up to our room. They had a safety precaution where your room key had to be inserted in the elevator slot and that had to match the floor you were staying on (if you’re in room 512, you couldn’t go to the 10th floor). Breakfast buffet was really good. They had Chinese food as well as some American breakfast items. The coffee from the single serve was excelkent. Everything appeared to be fresh and appetizing. Overall, staff and facility was good.
In our first trip to Beijing, my family of four, including two children, stayed at the Doubletree in the Financial District. It was fun to be in a non-touristy area. There is a large pool for the whole family and lots of restaurant options. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
If you want to stay somewhere where you feel welcome every morning and every night this is the place. Close subway, fast taxi service, helpful staff, good breakfast facility, comfortable rooms. This hotel has it all.
We stayed at the Doubletree Hilton Beijing for five nights. What an awesome stay! There are definite perks to being an HHonors member. We used points for our stay, were upgraded to a very lovely suite, and were given access to the executive lounge. The staff in the lounge were the main reason why our stay was so wonderful. The service was impeccable and attentive! Extra recognition should be given to Alexander who always went above and beyond with very personalized, caring, and thoughtful service.
Great place to stay. Rooms are 5 star to Western standard. If a non smoker ask at desk to be given a room with no smoking rooms around you. Over all a great stay with nice soft beds. Room was impeccable and staff always looking to help.
We stayed here for five days, as part of our tour. Was very comfortable, however as we were on tour, we hardly had time to explore properly. Our "free day" we managed to have a lie in, enjoy breakfast without rushing, also ate "yum cha" in the restaurant, which was superb, especially enjoyed the Water Boy who refilled our tea. The area outside was busy with traffic, but then everywhere in China seemed busy! Concierge was most helpful.
After checking in I entered my room and walked into a wall of heat. It had to be well over 40 degrees in the room, to I turned on the air conditioning to cool it down and went for dinner. When I returned it was still just as hot so I called reception who told me that “it’s winter but it only blows hot air”. I said that’s ridiculous what should I do it’s unbearable in this room. She apologized but couldn’t do anything. So I opened the window to try and let in some air. So the entire night I had to listen to traffic noise or sweat. Additionally, the TV in the adjacent room was being played so loud I called to complain but nothing was done- so good thing I had the traffic noise to block it out! And finally I had to disassemble the wardrobe light because it wouldn’t turn off - I did this on my own since calling reception proved to be completely useless. Absolutely no customer service at this hotel!
Stayed at the hotel for two nights at the beginning of a trip and two night at the end of the trip. The hotel is very Americanized, but it does have a few nice Asian touches. The rooms are average and they do have TV in several languages. Like most hotels in China, they provide all the bathroom essentials including toothbrushes and slippers. The bed was great. The best part of the hotel is the noodle and dim sum at breakfast. I would include breakfast in your stay. Outside the hotel are several American restaurants McDonald, Burger King, Starbucks, 7/11 and Domino's Pizza. However, there is a nice department store behind the hotel with an Asian grocery story in the basement and a small food court serving traditional Chinese food. The hotel is not close to the main attractions in China. However, I did take the train form the Beijing Central Station, and it is very close. If you want an American Hotel in China, I would recommend this hotel.
Always enjoy my trip to DT Beijing. Service is equal what u pay for. Such pity that it hardly over ur expectations. Traffic outside the hotel is amazing as same as other area in Beijing. 3 mins walking distanc to metro. Shopping mall next to it and restaurant around the area. Very convenient if not to travel to the city center.
