CITIC Hotel Beijing Airport

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Hotel offers airports shuttles to and from either terminals 1&2 or terminal 3. It's quite close to the airport with room service and restaurants within, but also close to several other local restaurants if you want to go out. I do wish that the fitness facilities were open early in the morning. Breakfast buffet was great.

I had early flight so I chose this hotel for its proximity to terminal 3. It turns out pretty nice, will definitely stay again.

I have been staying in this hotel several times. It was not located in an easy-find location. My taxi driver was very unhappy to get me to the hotel. My room is small and out-of-date. I could not use internet in my hotel room, and the bath tub and sink did not drain well. My stay is only for two days, so I tolerate those.

This is an old, run down hotel. Many people smoking, from the door people to customers inside the lobby. People sleeping on dirty lobby sofas, room seemed clean, but smelled old. This would be a 1 or 2 star hotel anywhere in the world, except China.

Room was ok, but hidden gratuity fees throughout and spotty wi-fi connection. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is old but still in good condition overall, only the carpet inside the room looks dirty.

Good experience.....open gift shop earlier so I can buy stuff in a.m.!

Great hotel for a short layover in China. I loved the free airport transportation.

The hotel is very much worth the low cost. The restaurant in it is adequate. Only issue: taxi driver did not know where it was.

This hotel is ideal for an overnight stay to catch early flight. It provides convenient free shuttles to the airport. The room is clean but a little bit old. There is not much to explore in the surrounding area.

the hotel is outdated and in need of TLC and renovation

The Hotel had many amenities and the staff all spoke English. Several gift shops and resturants inside the hotel. Very close by and in walking distance were many shops and places to eat.

The hotel is located kind of far from the airport. There aren't many restaurants in the nearby town. There is one within the hotel, expensive but the food quality is not as good.

This hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to and from the airport with the fixed schedule. Rooms and clean and cozy, staffs are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was fine. It is a little far from the airport but the bus service was very good. Take care when getting a massage - ask only for a massage therapist.

This hotel may have been better in the past under different management but is lacking in terms of being called a four star hotel by a travel site. The rooms are ordinary but clean; the food is woefully overpriced for what you receive in quality. I paid considerably less in beijing for much nicer rooms. The only redeeming value is the convenience to the Beijing airport.

I live about two hours away in Tianjin and stay here the night before morning flights. Shuttles airport, but make sure you are on the right one - one is for Terminals One and Two, and one is for Terminal Three. Reception staff speak English if that is important to you.

Good one clean and quiet. No one helps you carry bags. I am woman pushed my two big suitcase by myself. 2 big security guys were standing there and watching .

The hotel location near the airport was perfect. The room was clean but I could detect a smell from the previous occupants' smoking. Having an info about the shuttle schedule on the hotel web site would have been helpful. Friendly staff. Overall, i will choose this hotel again.

Had selected the CITIC Hotel because of its proximity to Beijing airports and what I believed was a good value for a four star hotel. What a mistake! For travelers with a lot of baggage, the bad news really start at the airport with the shuttle service. The pick up point is difficult to reach, located somewhere in the second level of an underground parking garage which requires to use several elevators or escalators. And the shuttle driver appeared to be glued to his seat, not bothering to get out and help load the guests luggage in the back or opening the door for them. Mmmm! The rooms were clean but awfully cold for a late October stay. And the climate control located in the room is for show only. Set it to cold or warm, the temperature in the room stays the same. Better put warm clothes before going to bed and keep the blanket at all times or you will be sorry. When questioned the following morning, the reception admitted that the temperature was set by the hotel staff and they refused to change it. So bring sweaters or cold medicine or both! The internet was unquestionably the worst part of it. I was assured that all the rooms had WI-FI but, at the room’s desk, the signal was so weak that I could not get internet access. But, after moving my laptop around the room, I managed to get a very slow internet access . . . . in the bathroom! So choose between washing or working! The lobby has good internet so plan to work (and freeze) there. Lastly, better save the 70 RMB that the breakfast costs there if you like western type breakfast: no hot coffee and milk, no bacon, no ham, and most of the toaster’s slots were inoperative so one had to wait in line for the ones that worked. My recommendation? Steer clear of the CITIC Hotel. Spend a few more Yuans and get yourself a decent hotel.
