Staying in this hotel reminds me of being in a relationship, that you are first drawn by the physical attractiveness of the person (the room), then over time you discover many shortcomings of the person, and you realise that the relationship was never going to work anyway. This hotel is situated about 15-min walk away from two subway stations – San Yuan Qiao and Liang Ma Qiao. It has a big lobby and a nice bar. As there were three of us, I booked a room with two double beds. The room is of a reasonably good size and looks very modern. The bathroom is massive – it has one shower, one bathtub, two wash basins and a toilet. And there are two big mirrors, one above the wash basins and one next to the bathroom door. Both the bathroom and the room have floor to ceiling glass which allows a lot of lights in. It all seems good. However, once you stay there for one night, problems arise. You first wonder why the bathroom needs to be so big, perhaps multiple persons can use the bathroom at the same time? Not quite. The toilet, the shower and the bathtub are separately by glass doors. Unless you are interested in watching someone poos while you brush your teeth, you won’t want another person in the bathroom. Also, there is only one towel hook in the bathroom, so only one towel can be hanged in the bathroom at any one time. Cunning plan to encourage only one towel to be used. Apart from the nice mirrors in the bathroom, there are none in the room, which means makeup can only be done in the bathroom while standing up. Massive first world problem. The floor to ceiling glass in the bathroom is a bit useless as well, as you have to close the binds when you use the toilet, unless you are an exhibitionist. To make things worse, the mattress is so overused that unless you have a big bum to fill the sag in the mattress, you won’t find the bed comfortable. Having said all that, I found the staff very helpful, gentle and polite. All in all, an okay stay. If you want to remind yourself what a relationship is like, do stay in this hotel.
This is a fantastic hotel, all of the standard comforts of a Marriott and with extra class and comfort. Executive fllor has a really delicious wine and cheese selection. Reataurants are fabulous with superb Chinese and international fair. Huge, inviting lobby, good gym, and quiet, comfortable rooms. I can't ask for anything more in a hotel.
Located close to shopping centers and several restaurants, this hotel is located on a busy street only 20 minutes away from the airport. Rooms are nice, bathrooms spectacular, the executive lounge offers a variety of foods and drinks, even liquor. The gym offers a variety of equipment sufficient for maintaining and exercise routine.
Hotel and staff were very helpful and made my first trip to China an enjoyable stay. Executive accommodations were excellent and Choy's seafood restaurant was a relaxing and nice place to eat. I really enjoyed their local mushroom special promotion.
After living in Beijing as an Expat from Feb2011 - June2016. The Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast is my "Go To Place". I have hosted many events, co coordinated events with the hotel, and brought in out of town guests to stay here. My last visit was I June 2017 for my daughters High School Graduation from a local public school. She had her Senior Prom/Dance there and I stayed for 10days there to show friends from the US around Beijing & the Great Wall. The hotel took care of us, and made us feel at home and at ease. The staff is excellent, food delicious, and cleanliness amazing! I can not sing high enough praises for the Marriott NE.
I've stayed at this hotel several times on business trips. The rooms are first rate. The Beijing Bistro, the all day restaurant, has a great breakfast buffet. You can get eggs and omelettes made to order. They also have a wide variety of Asian and Western items on the buffet. My only disappointment this trip, and reason for my lower rating, was a cracked hand shower that gushed water to the side and several lights in the room that were not working. I felt that that housekeeping staff should have noticed these problems and had them repaired before my arrival. However, they were all repaired the same day that I reported them to the front desk. I would definitely stay here in the future.
Very good hotel and ideally placed to see Beijing. Good access to local transport and the staff are the hidden jewel, very friendly. I'm not a great lover of hotel food and prefer local restaurants and sampling different styles of cooking. Room was very clean and service was excellent. Note: Get a hotel business card which helps local taxi drivers (who are not the best), get you back.
I got what I would expect from a Marriott in terms of quality and service -- at every touchpoint. Except for the cooling level in the room, everything was good with the room . The staff were friendly and helpful. I had multiple flight cancelations due to rough weather and Bryant from the concierge desk, took charge of the situation to help me get on a fast train next morning to Shanghai. He took care of buying the ticket and also booked me a taxi for the drop! Lot of local families were staying than the usual western business folks at this Marriott, which made it pretty cool and different. Overall, it was a great place to stay.
It was hard to communicate with the staff since the ENglish skills are very basic and therefore I had problems with booking of my taxi to my company. This was a nighmare. Finally I got booked a very nice limousine service which was pretty expensive.
This is a hotel with good location and facility in reasonable conditions. However, if you are a marriott elite member expecting member benefit, this hotel might not be an ideal option. It is my first time stay at a Marriott hotel in my home country, unfortunately, the elite member service is far from expectation, especially in comparison with the Hilton Beijing nearby which I had stayed a few times for consecutive nights and other marriott hotels I stayed overseas. For some reason, my request for a King bed room at the time of booking was not noted by the hotel. Knowing that I was checking in alone, the front desk staff did not mention that it is a twin bed room. After I entered the room and saw the twin beds, I called front desk requesting the room change and told them that I would be waiting at the executive lounge. I had been waiting in the lounge for more than 30 minutes, and no one responded to me until I asked for multiple times. After the long wait, one of the lounge staff told me that King bed room is not available at the studio room they upgraded for me, and the only option for king bed is the deluxe room I original booked. I told her I am ok with a twin bed for the first night but can they get me a king bed from the 2nd or 3rd day. She said that will depend on the room availability of tomorrow and the day after. Correct me if I was wrong, I interpret this into "You are less priority than our potential clients in the next two days". During the communications, the front desk and lounge staff emphasized a few times that, 1. My booking is a points redemption (Flight and hotel package actually), 2. The studio room is already two levels upgrade from the room I originally book (twin bed though). 3. Per their policy, complimentary upgrade for the elite members cannot exceed 3 days. which made me feel I was taking huge advantage of the hotel. I highly suspect that the hotel simply did not wish to swap the king bed room for the same room type. During the wait in the lounge, I did call the reservation see if there is any suite available, because I was going to have some meetings which require a private space, and I didn't mind for a paid upgrade. Surprisingly, the operator told me that both studio and suites are available for a king bed. The hotel staff denied the availability of suite and king bed studio, and I couldn't have either paid or complimentary upgrade. Now I rescheduled my meetings and happily stayed in the room type that I originally booked taking no advantage of the hotel. And to be frank, if it was not a 7days e-voucher which cannot be break into multiple stays, I am already somewhere else.
