Beijing Marriott Hotel Northeast

This hotel ticked all the boxes for a well organised events location. Drinks meals and facilities were all efficiently managed. It’s probably more business than leisure oriented and its location means that getting anywhere for shopping will mean a taxi and the bad traffic that goes with it.

Visited this hotel for a night, was here in 2012. Service is good and so was the room. Wished I had more time to explore in future. Service staff was good and helped me with the directions to my destination. Will come again

Having spent a couple of weeks bouncing from (mostly) Chinese hotels to Chinese hotels, it was a pleasure to return to a Marriott property. That is not to say that the other hotels were unsatisfactory (see other reviews) it is just great to be immersed in Marriott quality. And this hotel was really great, helped by having a spacious corner superior twin room on the 17th floor with what should have been great views across this district of Beijing if the weather had been less misty! So the accommodation was splendid especially the bedding. And the staff were, as ever, courteous friendly and highly professional. My only criticism would be the bath tub! There seems to be fashion for retro style free standing tubs with modern taps. But no one seems to have considered how impractical these can be for less agile older larger guests!

I have stayed at this hotel a few times in the past. As a Platinum member , I have always being treated nicely: room on the executive floor etc... The personnel is usually very friendly and helpful. However, the room are showing sign of aging - Stain on carpet etc...

Had the pleasure of staying at this Marriott hotel while on business in Beijing. I was greeted by a friendly staff and the room was very spacious and had everything a business traveler needs, including a large work area and a TV that can be used as a monitor for your computer (if you have your own HDMI or video cable). The room was very clean and the bathroom layout very large and functional. The property seems to be located close to many of the high-tech and other companies and had plenty of access to Taxi and Bus service. Overall, a great place to stay in Beijin while on business.

I've been staying here regularly the past few years - and have written favorable reviews. My last trip left me wondering if things are slipping. Service seemed a bit spotty. Check-in was easy - but the in-room "At your Service" button generated mixed results. A few times - no answer at all. English language capability of staff seems to be not as high as before. Exec lounge no longer serves breakfast - and does not even open til 10am - so grabbing a cup of coffee in the morning requires a trek to the buffet downstairs. A pet peeve of mine: every hotel promotes their "green" initiatives including reusing sheets and towels. I'm good with that. But please provide a hook in the bathroom to hang up towels to drive. The current bathroom design has no towel hooks - and just a small towel bar over counter for hand towels, not adequate for bath towels. Entire experience was less than fully positive and this long term patron will probably not return.

I stayed here with my family while visiting Beijing. This hotel is so beautiful, top notch with an incredible view of Downtown Beijing. The dining hall is delicious, buffet style, amazing fresh food. We also dined in the Italian Restaurant Frateli Fresh, on Christmas. The Chef actually came out to ur table and sat with us for awhile, while we enjoyed their fabulous wine list. There is a Starbucks 2 blocks down the street, Amen. The Temple of Heaven, Summer Palace and forbidden City are about 45 minute drive with the Panjiuyan market about 15 minutes up the road. The Great Wall is a bit further because traffic is so horrid, at about 1 hour. Grab a car and sit back to enjoy the scenery. If you want luxury, this hotel is the place.

Typical 5-star hotel problem in Beijing: facilities are good but service can never meet the standard. The hotel was not short of staff roaming around; however, they were not at your service when needed. I had to wait like 15 minutes before someone helped check me in despite there was only one person before me and that poor guy spent 26 minutes till a room could be assigned (the hotel wasn't full). Why I knew it was 26 minutes? Because the guy actually was in a rush and someone was waiting to pick him to a meeting so they timed it! Similarly when I ordered room service and requested someone to pick up the used dishes, whoever answered my calls kept telling me they were short of staff! Despite the poor service, their gym and pool were quite good.

The staff were professional and friendly. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff much exceeded those at JW Marriott Beijing at XinGuang Tiandi. The service at breakfast would normally be one of the make or break points of a hotelier. Glad to say that the service at both the Executive Lounge and the 2nd floor breakfast restaurant was of a good quality. So was the food. It was way better than JW Marriott hotels in Beijing area. Gym was a fit for purpose one and the gym staff was friendly. Despite the age of the property, the staff professionalism and attitude made up much for it.

This hotel is a very nice property in a busy commercial part of the city. A major advantage is its proximity to the airport expressway and subways. The staff is very helpful and cordial but English skills are in short supply. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and the executive lounge is really good; they serve a full breakfast and afternoon cocktails which are quite generous. The gourmet restaurant is excellent. Staff is, if anything, overly attentive but genuinely friendly and the Sichuan items are superb if you like heat.
