Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall4.0 out of 5.0

We spent 4 nights here and it was a good stay. Two points could be improved. First the windows of the room are not well phonic insulated as the noise from the street could be annoying, but nothing very disturbing. Second, despite the swimming pool is big many floor tiles are missing what could be harmful for guests’ foots. Overall our stay was very pleasant thanks to the nice staff. Room was cleaned as expected and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel location is great, close to subway for main lines which is convenient to visit Beijing.
We enjoyed our stay at The Beijing Marriott Hotel City Wall. The property was clean and comfortable, good location and the staff was friendly and accommodating. A little tricky as some restaurants in the late bay that world appear to be part of the hotel are actually independent.
Excellence on every level. The rooms were clean and, as always, Marriott comfortable, especially the beds and pillows. The shower and bathroom were nicely rennovated and clean. Awesome breakfast buffet with everything you can imagine, even breakfast sushi. I loved the noodle station. The gym was great - lots of free weights and treads. The pool is like something out of a magazine. Hotel staff was courteous. The executive lounge on first floor was really great with small bites and wine/liquor; well worth it. Well done again, Marriott!
Dear Sir & Madame, On behalf of our F4 co.,and I ,I have the pleased to highly appreciated your kind care and assistant for the great hospitality and service I had been treated and received everyday from your braved staff who are well knowledge and very politeness. It is my first time visited to Marriott Beijing city wall hotel, it is really amazing and wondering for everything I had got it,and especially for the foods quality and displayed with the reasonable prices for and can make everyone staying in your hotel to be able dining and drinking without worries about the high fee charge and thinking to eat outsiders in others places. Let me say friendly from my heart it is really wonderful and different from other branches if need to compared. Here I need to appreciated your greatest staff Miss Kiki and Miss Melody and Miss Melia for the highest kindness and Care with a big smiling face for everything they had been done... All the best for a well properties and progress for the coming years always. Charbel Karam 13924284924
Comfortable stay with courteous staff. The hotel is in the heart of the city and you can use the local taxis (DiDi services)/local buses to go around the city. The cuisine is wide spread- ranging from local, Japanese, Indian and Continental.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights. Really enjoyed it! Great location, very convenient, excellent service, very nice clean room and delicious breakfast! Definitely would stay there again if in Beijing.
My usual hotel was occupied by Mr. Trump's entourage so decided to re-visit this hotel, which I had used only once before a long time ago. The lobby is shared with an office tower entrance that I don't recall the last time I was there, and the spa/massage service is now operated by a third party, in the attached small shopping mall, beside the hotel, whereas previously I seem to remember it being within the hotel itself. I may not be correct about all this but I think I am. The "Executive Lounge" is half of the Lobby Bar, separated by potted plants and bar stools, from the other half of the Lobby Bar....very strange. The hotel elevators are the furthest from any Marriott reception desk that I have experienced. The rooms are a bit dated but my suite on the 21st. floor was spacious and everything worked in the room. There did not seem to be many F&B outlets in the hotel, with the main one being a seafood buffet. Location is good, with a very nice big park beside the hotel, that meanders along the Ming Dynasty City Wall (not the Great Wall, much further out of the city), and gives the hotel its name. I walked here every day as the Autumn weather was lovely. Staff were excellent, especially Concierge and the Lobby Bar staff. I enjoy massage, and decided to use the in-room service from the Jing Chen Massage & Spa, again in the small mall beside the hotel, but the charges can be signed to your room account. I got a great massage from Fiona, who spoke good English. Price for 90 minutes was reasonable and I know I enjoyed the massage because I nodded off a couple of times during the course of the 90 minutes......always a good sign!! The Pacific Coffee shop next to the hotel serves good coffee. Quirky but interesting hotel................
This hotel is fairly old and very dated in décor and layout, the elevators are limited 3 to serve the entire hotel and they are in the back quite a hike from the Check-in and exit and entry to the Hotel. If you are either an elite member with lounge privilege or you prefer rooms on the executive floors, the executive lounge in this hotel one will disappoint you, there is no upper floor lounge, instead the hotel has designated a portion of what should be their lobby lounge as their executive lounge. Both of the Executive lounge's food presentations (morning and evening) are somewhat limited as compared to other executive floor offering in other Marriott properties. I would spend just a few more RMB and go to the either of the JW's which are not too far away.
The hotel is very good, my room was large (more like junior suite), well appointed and in good condition. The executive lounge is very good and the staff trying hard to please. The problem I faced was with room heating and air conditioning system which hotel staff cannot do anything about. Outside temperature was not low enough to cool the room and not high enough for hotel to switch the central system from heating to cooling , hence my room temp. Stayed at 78 to 80 F (26 to 27C) during my 5 night stay which is not comfortable. The staff did their best , even put in very small evaporative cooler inside my room which unfortunately did not help. I do want to compliment the hotel management on their efforts to remedy the problem as best as they could.
Excellent hotel. Centrally located near all businesses, train station, bus terminals and local markets. Safe and secure. Staff very friendly and will go out of the way to help. Excellent restaurant on premises. Great lavish breakfast. Stayed four nights and it was very memorable.
