We are two Mexicans traveling around Asia for two months, we counted the number of hostels and hotels in which we have stayed and they sum around 15. We're not picky people, we have stayed in every kind of place and we can honestly say this is the WORST of them all. 1. Beijing's dump is cleaner than this place: A) towels have a brownish strange tone instead of being white and they were smelly. B) my sheets had a suspicious blood stain since I got there. C) the room stinks like an ashtray, I seriously though somebody went in there to smoke when I was away. D) they just cleaned the bathroom once (we stayed there for 3 nights). At the end of our stay it was disgusting taking a shower. E) to end off, breakfast kitchen was even dirtier than the room. Along with all of this, we couldn't complain at all because not a single soul speaks english, or anything else than Chinese, not even the manager. Nobody could help us, or even tried to. Service was null. We had to ask for toilet paper everyday, and trust me, it took more than 15 minutes for them to understand what we were asking for. Besides everything, it is EXPENSIVE. We seriously never take the time to write these kind of reviews. Actually I just made this TripAdvisor account to prevent other people from staying in this terrible place. Don't waste your money, look for another place!
I just got back from Beijing 2 days ago and I am not one to write bad reviews, but hopefully my review can help others. Pros - It is very close to Forbidden City, Wangfujing St, shopping, restaurants and Wangfujing snack street. Overall, the location is primetime and great! - Mini mart is next door, so grabbing water, snacks, food before your day trip is convenient and super easy. - Cleaned rooms daily - The cost of rooms are cheaper compared to other hotels. Cons - Hotel receptionist speak none to very limited English. - Hotel hallways smell like burned seafood or smoke.... - Beds are hard. - Rooms had an odor....or a stank - I had a Deluxe Room and no AC, which really sucked...I slept with the window open to get some kind of air, but a few bugs got in. - Water pressure from shower was very weak, but manageable. - Mediocre/weak wifi - Good luck asking for a taxi. Overall, I would only recommend staying here for 1 night, if you're trying to save $ and can manage sleeping in musky hot temp. (only during summer)
Excellent location... just perfect.. at the edge of wangfujing street... Nice evening food market in front of Hotel...!! Bad wifi signal Bad smell Bad House keeping Bad staff - they dont know how to behave, talk etc(everything) No one understands english - except one lady that comes in day. At night when I came back from outside, i found the toilet dustbin and other stuffs near my bed, called reception to remove it (send house keeping), but they kept on saying "no english" and disconnected the call. I called them atleast 10 times, but same response. I even shouted "Fire in my room" but there response was same. The staff did not call the Taxi for airport, as they dont understand english. Imagine if there is a medical emergency - what will happen to the guest ?? If you call for any help ?? or you need any help with anything ?? This hotel staff will let you die in your room..., because you cannot speak chinese...!!! Don't book this Hotel Please...
a very good location located near Wang Fu jing street, walking distance to all shopping malls, rooms are clean and toilet is clean too. Reception not so OK, our tour guide had a little fight with the reception. Restaurant is in the middle of the Hotel, 2nd floor, Look for the lifts located in the middle of the Room units, the restaurant is located there.
You want to visit Tiananmen and ancient gardens? You want to walk on Wangfujin Street? You come for shopping and see financial centres skyscrapers?! So don't hesitate and book the Watching Judy Hotel! Subway is very close, easy to catch a taxi, 2 steps to the famous food street. Rooms are rather cosy and clean, free Wi-Fi and ticket and guide service at reception. But we unfortunately faced with a problem with an iron - they have laundry, but no ironing of clothes:(
i can say this hotel is not bad neither good, location seem to me the best part very near to forbidden city but aware that you have to walk about 7 min to subway also hotel is so near of wangfujng shopping street "very nice street"....but there 's much better hotels in same price around the area of this hotel
I have stayed in this hotel before. It is quite ok for its rate which is reasonable. Near to Bank and restaurants. Chinease no problem as i can speak well. To Tienanmen 35minutes good walk. Wangfujing street 5 minutes and where elase you can find this type of good location for its rate. I had no problem whatsoever during my stay there. Am going back again.
This is a decent hotel. The location is good, the rooms are small and pretty clean. If you're looking for a good price, and can find one here, it isn't a bad choice.
Although rooms were clean and spacious. Hotel staff are horrible with awful attitude. They turn off centralize airconditioning just after summer. so it was so hot, we were just given a small fan to compensate. There is no internet service contrary to their advertisement. At first the staff were very courteous in greeting and welcoming us then when we start complaining about the room, nobody can speak english anymore all of a sudden. We were told it's not their problem coz we were the one who choose to book at their hotel. The front desk staff were so rude. We asked to talk to the manager but were told he's not around. I think the manager was the one walking pass behind them and when he asked one of the staff what's the problem he was told not to intervene. Walls are cardboard thin as well so when there are locals checked in it's like a market place starting early in morning with all the shouting. There are other nearby hotels with better service and reasonable price.
This is probably one of the worst looking hotels on the whole street. The location is the only good thing about this hotel because it's within walking distance to Tiananmen Square and a large shopping street where we ate everyday. The service is fairly poor (as I have come to expect when staying in a cheap hotel in China :-/). My boyfriend can speak Chinese but yet the staff don't really serve you with any respect (the cleaners are nicer than the front desk staff!). When we opened the door to the first room we were given on the 3rd floor a strong stench of smoke came out so we immediately asked for a non-smoking room. This room on the 4th floor smelt much cleaner, but the rooms are very small and the carpets are filthy. The bathroom is annoying because the shower lets all the water out onto the whole bathroom floor so you have to come out of the bathroom with wet feet onto the already dirty carpet. If you use the paper slippers given then you might just slip and crack your head open! The bed has quite a bouncy mattress (for China) so it was comfortable for us two expats who are quite used to hard beds. But as I said the room is very small so the bed pretty much filled the room, so if we had had to stay longer than 3 nights I might have started getting claustrophobic. There is construction going on during the day that starts from about 8am until 9pm which is loud enough to get annoying. And the walls are paper thin so you can hear TV's and conversations. The front lobby, I think, is under construction so it's ugly looking and when we needed to use a toilet on our last day we had to use the one in the massage parlour next door because the hotel staff just pointed to the restaurant that is linked with the hotel. Overall, this hotel should only be a last resort as there are much better looking hotels on this street that I wish we could have stayed at if only they weren't fully booked. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.
