Beef Island Guest House, as of August 7, 2019, has not reopened and is still being repaired from hurricane Irma. The same is true for the attached restaurant De Loose Mongoose, though a few other bars/restaurants are open on trellis bay if you are waiting for a ferry or flight.

We chose this location because we had an early flight and wanted the extra sleep of being so close to the airport. It has a "cottage" feel and great location at marina and beach with lots of restaurants. We were only there for 12 hours so did not explore much. Checked in smoothly, ate at the restaurant, had a great sleep, and left for the airport. Staff helped us arrange a cab in the morning (a short ride, but it would was pitch black and we did not want to haul bags in the dark). Room was spacious and clean. No frills and wifi only worked in common area, not in room. There is very little privacy because doors are all slotted (so no solid barrier). Only real complaint was we were coming off a charter and really wanted a nice warm shower and neither of us got one. The water was not ice cold, but it was not enjoyable or even tepid, it was cool.

Last minute booking and stayed here for 2 nights on my own. Felt very safe, but you are a bit out of the way. Trellis bay is great and had good restaurants. Room was large with aircon. Had shower and a fridge so you could pop to supermarket and keep some stuff in your room. Wifi also available. Staff polite, when you see them.

I'm at the Beef Island Guest House as I write this. It's 10:30 p.m., and although I'd love to get some sleep, there is band playing island music about 75 feet outside my room. The Windows don't shut, but even if they did, there would be no peace. A restaurant next door, the Loose Mongoose, has live music three nights a week. We don't know how long they play, because there is no management on site to ask. So, we may need to drink ourselves to sleep. (Kidding.) We are with a group of 7. We had four rooms reserved (with confirmations). When we arrived, they had reservations for only two rooms. They had three rooms available, so one of the couples in our group had to go elsewhere. The rooms are no-frills. Old furniture. A soggy bed. I admit the ambiance suffers from the music outside, but trying to be objective, it's barely passable. Thus far, the room appears clean. It is convenient to the airport, which is why we chose this location -- we leave tomorrow. But, after a day on the water, we were looking forward to a good night's sleep before the trip home. Looks like we will be disappointed.

This was our first stop on a 12 night trip to the BVI. We walked to it from the airport (you can walk via the beach or a gravel road, so rolling luggage was a challenge but we packed fairly light). The guest house has four rooms, all air conditioned, and it was clean and comfortable (though it would be nice if our room had a chair). The guest house isn't big on frills, but it was a very enjoyable place to spend a few nights. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. It sits on a small stretch of beach, and is near some great places to eat and enjoy a drink.

By an almost unbelievable set off set of circumstances I ended up as the only guest in this exquisite gem of a place . It was just before the "Season" and was treated like Royalty. Unbelievable staff Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the young lady who helped run this place. Kudos to the unbelievable King Jess who was my amazing tour guide and gave me so much information.Have traveled extensively but this place cannot be recommended enough #1!!!!!!

A very nice guesthouse with very friendly staff especially Erica who was so helpful when we arrived. The room was perfect, very big and clean with a lovely bathroom. We also had an absolutely delicious meal in the restaurant attached to the guest house. The guest house is also very convieniently located close to the beef island airport.

In need of upgrading but it was clean and the zircon was cold the staff where friendly and helpful we stayed twice once on arrival and the day before leaving walked to and from the airport although not fun with cases we had a great night eat at the island restaurant across the water really good night

Worst experience at a hotel, it was so bad We are just going to use a list as a review as 11 pages written during the 3 days of terrible service. *day one - the loudest DJ music from TiKi bar you can imagine until FOUR AM! * dirty bed linens, broken windows, bathroom Mirror sitting sink impossible to use. * day two one and one half hour wait for breakfast at Beef Island guest house and it was cold. * Inappropriate comments by hotel staff. * Rude hotel / restaurant staff. * incorrect charges on food and drinks * Extremely loud music again night # 2 till 230 am. * power goes off just as music starts to die down , no ac, no charge for phones, no lights or flash lights, no one on property .. No response from owner or emergency phone number listed by Beef Island guest house. No coffee the next morning. A generator was there but no one on property to turn it on. The mosquitos were terrible. * night 3 painfully loud music again. People in the bar are singing and yelling, its Sunday night past midnight. * Finally was offered another room it was really dirty. Dirty sink and linens. * credit card was charged incorrectly and on a side note the same day the credit card was hacked with 5 unauthorized charges, don't know who did it. The Beef island guest house is a bar with a few rooms, please do not interrupt the bar activities with your needs as a "guest" of the Beef island guest house.

Once again we overnighted at BIGH on our way home from the BVI. Accommodations were great. AC was cranked full blast upon arrival, shower was wonderful and relaxing, and food and drink next door at De Loose Mongoose was excellent as usual. Recommended coming or going.
