All you need for a calm, nice stay you will find at Hilton Garden Inn Luton North, and don't forget to order excellent poached eggs for breakfast; interesting idea with a small bar-shop in a hotel with acceptable prices the location could be better, seems to be close to the town of Luton (4 kms) but we paid 30 pounds at night for the taxi for this distance (!) but of course it's not the hotel's fault

Thanks for allowing me to stay (and work) here in Dec - Jan. Honestly speaking as a staff, I’ve never met a more professional team (except housekeeping, will explain below) then these guys. As guest they are professional and yes I know they make mistakes like humans do and they do get corrected immediately. My only problem for taking 1 star off was simply the attitude of Housekeeping who let the rest of the staff down. For example you have Reception who are great and extremely polite in treating, serving the customers who come. F&B and kitchen are great at their jobs even when busy and maintanence always respond quickly to any problem that needs fixing. But housekeeping, most of the problems in question they blame the fact they do not speak English when the problem simply requires them to use their eyes and their common sense. So telling the guests to blame the language barrier is something that needs to be fixed. Speaking as both staff and guest here I noticed housekeeping attitude to staff and guests. As staff I noticed that some of them do give kitchen staff an attitude in the food that is provided in the restaurant. Really? Personally if I get free meal at work I’m grateful of it, I’d give the food to the homeless if I was to complain of the free meal at work. As guest I noticed they do give attitude to the guests when they want to clean the rooms or when a guest complain of their housekeeping. For example 1) There was a few days when I was in the shower, and housekeeping knocked on the door, no one answered (as was in the shower), came in saw that I was in the shower and they basically told me to get out of the room immediately as they want to clean the room. I did tell them no, cant they see I’m in the shower and can they not come back? Funny part of that conversation was them sayin “sorry I don’t speak English”. Sorry I understand some of housekeeping do not speak english but what does the language barrier have to do with a situation that requires them to use their common sense and eyes? If I was for example doing their job and went into a guest room and saw they are in the shower I’d apologise and leave immediately, clean the other rooms and then come back later, even if I did not speak their language. 2) The other attitude problem I noticed of housekeeping, is there was a day last week when I was getting changed and housekeeping knocked and I said “can you come back in 2 minutes please, I’m just getting changed? The reply I got was “But your room is the last room I have to do can’t you do that later?” Er can’t I get changed later? I am half naked do you want to come in and see a guest naked for the duration of you cleaning the room? They just tell me “So? Who cares”. 3) The housekeeping is a hit and miss when cleaning the rooms. For example there was a day when they took the dirty cups/glasses and basically not replace it at all, even tho I told reception and it took 3 days before they replaced the dirty cups/glasses they took 3 days before. The reason they replaced after 3 days was only when I said I’d go to the kitchen and get them myself that they replaced what they removed. There was also a day when I went out, came back at night, went to sleep and when I woke up in the morning I noticed what I thought was just stains on the bedsheets. I thought it was just coffee stains that housekeeping could not wash out, but on closer inspection it was a sheet below the bedsheet that was covering the mattress that had dots of blood all over that sheet. It seems that whilst I was out it was the day to change the linens, which was fine but surely they could see they were putting a sheet that was dirty onto the bed? 4) There was a day, mid Dec when there was 5 housekeeping who came just after 11am and basically tried to evict me. I mean I told them I was here till end of Dec and the attitude I got was “So? We know you are staff here, we know you are here till end of December but you still have to check out today.” Well fair enough they are trying to do a job, but as staff 5 housekeeping versus 1 kitchen staff, its like lets gang up on the staff we don’t like. As a guest that’s embarrassing that thats a mistake that even housekeeping knew when I was here to but has to intimidate a guest with their attitude and the way they speak to the guest. I know they are busy with cleaning all the rooms but surely do they need 5 housekeeping to do that? I mean they said themselves they knew I was here to end of December but still expected me to move out in mid December. It was me who had to run around and complain of their attitude and fix why I’m told to check out 2 weeks before I was meant to check out. Tho it is not all housekeeping here that is this bad. There are 1 or 2 who does use their common sense when doing their job. I know it does get busy and stressful when there’s a full house here and they have other work but giving guests attitude is a problem. I have told reception of every complaint mentioned. Tho mind you I heard from one of the other staff that the problems housekeeping happens to other guests here too. I will comeback because of the rest of the staff who make working and staying here enjoyable.

Awake till after midnight as directly above smoking area and windows don’t close properly. Poor fit. Staff didn’t seem that bothered on check when I complained. Could have at least comped the parking or breakfast .

Just had a one night stay here as part of a company conference and could not fault any of it! Hotel was fairly easy to find once you had cleared Luton and car parking was ample - even with our lot there! Check-in was welcoming and friendly. My room was certainly spacious, spotlessly clean with a good-sized bathroom and a huge shower. The bed gave me a great night's sleep. Our meals were in the main restaurant and the first dinner was served efficiently and very enjoyable. Breakfast was self-service as was lunch and equally good. The conference, seminar and break-out rooms were well laid out and amply equipped with water and other refreshments. The temperature in these rooms was comfortable and made our sessions easier. Overall it really is an excellent conference hotel.

Stayed here on new years eve as we had a local party to go to. Clean and comfortable room straight forward check in. All the staff we came in contact with were friendly and efficient Good location for the airport.

Check in was fast and efficient (even though I had booked the incorrect arrival date!) . The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The parking arrangement for Luton airport worked extremely well and was very good value. we used the hotel for the first time when our flight was delayed until 6 am. used it again on return when flight landed really late at 2 am. The hotel was very understanding

EzyJet cancelled the flight and put us at this hotel and it was very good. The restaurant stayed open for late arriving passengers and in good humor. Serving staff were brilliant. The rooms clean. The beds were excellent.

We were looking for a one night stopover on a long drive from Durham to Tilbury and this hotel is excellent, Very comfortable, peaceful room, good dinner and splendid breakfast. Particularly fine staff - special thanks to Stephka, Bulgarian lady, who gave us such a warm welcome. Easy to find from the motorway and secure parking. Top praise to the hotel and will be back often.

We had a cancelled flight and arrived tired and hungry at 20:40 at the hotel. We were told that the kitchen was closed, that there was no room service but that we could order in food. We went to the bar at 20:55 and were told that we couldn't order. We saw room service trays in the halls. At 21:30 people were still being served in the restaurant and we got some rather miserable salads from the shop. No toothbrush available. When you are paying £120.- for a room in an airport hotel you expect better service.

My company and i have used the hotel for the last 5 years for our Christmas stay. My only gripe would be the bar closes too early considering it doesn't directly sit next to any houses. Otherwise another good stay.
