we stayed here last week, very nice location, very clean, staff were very helpful and polite, overall we really enjoyed our stay here, only reason i didn't give 5 stars is the room could do with a bit of updating, but thats my own personal taste and from impression i got some of the other rooms have been.
I would agree with other reviews that this hotel scores a solid 4 stars. The location is ideal for accessing local sights but far enough away from Las Ramblas that the street is quiet. A few small blips stop me scoring a perfect 5. This includes missing silicone around the basin and out of the 2 rooms we used only one had a hotel facilities guide and neither had instructions on how to use the telephone e.g. calling between rooms or reception desk. There was no coat hook in the bathroom to hang up bathrobes. An ironing board was delivered a couple of hours after we asked for one and although was from Ikea was the worst board I have ever used in that it was flimsy and not flat.
5 days in Silken Ramblas and it was perfect. Relaxed, nice pool on the roof and also a good bar (with Samba)! The room was perfect with enough space and we loved the kingsize bed. Also important, we didn't had yelling people and childeren around us or around te room! We are coming back!
My husband and I spent 2 nights here prior to a Mediterranean cruise leaving from Barcelona. The room was clean, modern and quiet. A large breakfast buffet was included. The desk staff was polite and helpful. The location, half a block from las Ramblas was perfect. We could walk to many places. We were there during the terrorist attack on las ramblas. The hotel not only allowed dozens of displaced people access to the lobby but fed everyone ! What a kind and caring management. When it was time to leave for our cruise the management sent a hotel staff member out with us on a 1/2 mile trek to find a cab, as all nearby streets were closed due to the terror attack. This hotel was a wonderful choice.
We finally reached Barcelona and centrally located in Las Ramblas was our hotel. We were quite worried because of the recent terrorist acts but the Silken is so strategically located that you are two blocks away from all the noisy crowd walking up and down but don't feel a sound ! Very very modern and elegant. Excellent service since the moment you arrive, very knowledgeable staff regarding tourist information. Very comfortable rooms although we had a power issue it was promptly solved. Breakfast was out of this world! Great!
Thank you to all the staff which were very nice and helpfull. Particulary during dramatic moment in Rambla. Hotel was nice and pool on the roof very confortable. Prices are raisonnables. We will come back. Best
The hotel is in a great location, close to the Rambla, which gives easy access to city buses and city tours. The rooftop pool is very nice, but it was monopolized by young people, throughout our stay so we could not enjoy it. The breakfast was very good (even for a vegetarian) but the service for dinner was not effective. We waited a lot (even though we were only 3 couples) as only one employee was to serve in the dinner room and rooms service. The poor man was sweating. The service, in general, was not exceptional. The rooms were spacious, clean and the bathrooms modern.
The location of this hotel is very good. Easy access to subway, tourism bus & shopping. Swimming pool on the top was good to be refresh after sightseeing. And nice view from the top. Staffs were very kind and friendly.
For a city hotel you can't fault this location. The tiny roof top pool is small and really welcome with a bar, snacks and loungers. No umbrellas (maybe a hazard if it's windy) but ample shade. Good car parking underground- but very expensive at €29 per day. The reception area and staff are very welcoming. Breakfast good and they even had gluten free bread! Negatives We were in room 218. Very noisy. From 8am you could hear running children and even the lifts opening and closing. We would return here when improvements are finished as sleeping areas need modernising.
This hotel has a four star rating but does not offer anything close to European four stars standards! Our room on the first floor was really dark and we had a view on the hotel AC system... We asked if we could have another room but were told they had no other room available when they had rooms available to book online. The staff is not particularly friendly either. The pool area looks nothing like the pictures! I would definitely not recommend this hotel as I have stayed in Barcelona several times before and you can get a lot better for value for your money!
