Silken Ramblas

Check in was quick and even got an early check in However room 320 was a room next to lift absolutely awful! I did not sleep a wink. Do not stay here! I wouldn't return. The staff came across rude too. This is not 4 star either! The rooms are in need if repair and I would compare it to a Travelodge.

We stayed in this hotel over night and our room was opposite the lift, which we found to be busy and noisy. The flush in the toilet didn't work properly and we had to wriggle it around to stop the water from flowing out of the cistern into the toilet, if we didn't do that then again it made it noisy in the room. The Air Conditioning unit was not working and we were told to open our window, but as there was a bar just down the road which meant we could not have this open, so ended up very hot. On some positive notes, the room was clean and tidy as was the rest of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is in a great location only 1 minute walk away from Las Ramblas, which this time of year was very busy and colourful

Silken Ramblas is a very good hotel in an excellent location, since i consider the later to be the more important in a trip such as city center barcelona, i gave it 5 stars. We got every where by foot.

I had an excellent experience with the Silken, from the reservation process which was simple, clear and good. The room was very specious and very clean. Excellent service - I got quick response to any of my requests (remote control, key to safe). The location is great ! I highly recommend it ! Silken Ramblas was built to cater for visitors to the Olympic Games in Barcelona many years ago, and has aged with dignity. I have stayed here twice (Formula 1 race event in may 2012, and more recently for a weekend visit in September 2017). Located just 100 meters from Las Ramblas, and just a very short walk from Plaza Catalunya (from where there are buses to the airport) the location is “prime”. Compared to 2012, you will find a lot more nice street restaurants just around the corner (but the short walk over to the Gothic Quarter is a must do anyway)!

very good location, central but relatively quiet, great and rich breakfast, very kind and helpful staff, new and clean rooms, good facilities. we were a mother and 2 sons in the room and it was large enough, all necessary was provided each day. good maintenance

Good location, friendly staff, part of hotel under reconstruction, typical spanish tasty breakfast but little bit expensive. Room clean, without trouble. Very positive Wifi works very well. Nect hotel is taxi station

Average and tired hotel in great location. Disappointing overall ambience from the entrance to the worn out décor in the corridors and the dark bedrooms. It is a shame that there are no pleasant public areas to linger inside.

The hotel is ideally situated, 1 minute away from La Rambla and 5 minutes away from Placa de Catalunya. We have found the rooms and the hotel in general old. It looks like it has been built in the seventies and has not evolved since then. It clearly needs renovation work. Our very positive experience is that, after a terrible first night because of the noise made by other customers, we have shared our experience with the front desk. They took our complaint very seriously and, after having looked for a solution, they have proposed us a Suite. We did not even ask for an upgrade. We have of course been very pleased with this solution and our second night has been excellent.

I've stayed in many hotels in Barcelona and this was by far the worst experience I've had - especially considering it has the highest ratings compared to where I normally stay. 1. NO AIR CONDITIONING. The staff argued that because it is winter, the hotel does not have air conditioning. We stayed at this hotel at the end of November and I know this is not common practice in Barcelona. We had stayed at a different hotel a few nights earlier while in transit to Portugal and we had air conditioning. At Silken Ramblas we had to sleep with the windows open and it was still very uncomfortable at night. The room was HOT. It is definitely not cold enough to not have air conditioning. At such a highly rated hotel I would expect there to be such simple amenities. 2. Front Desk could not provide basic services. On multiple occasions I've had front desk staff help me purchase tickets for Sagrada Familia/Park Guell/Etc. It is a lot more convenient as opposed to buying tickets on my iPhone. Silken Ramblas would not help us out. Again, for a pricy and 4-star hotel I would expect more in regards to convince. On vacation, I purposely stay in nicer hotels for the amenities provided. Otherwise, I would opt for a cheaper AirBnb. If you are looking for a stress-free, relaxing vacation I would not recommend.
