An unavoidable situation resulting in no room available for one of three nights was handled professionally. We were provided with a room st their sister hotel, taxi service since we did need to stay in this area, and an upgrade when we returned. This was offered to us by two friendly and helpful staff. We highly recommend this hotel.

Thieves at night in the room but staff don’t seem to care! This was my worst and most dangerous experience ever !! It was 5 a.m. and I was sleeping alone in my room at the 8th floor of this hotel (the room with the terrace) when suddenly the noise of the window opening woke me up (The window was closed but one side was not locked). I didn't immediately realize what was happening but I had the promptness to get up immediately and turn the light on: the window was open and there was a man on the terrace running away. He surely would have got into the room if I hadn’t woken up and turned the light on!! But the best is yet to come: when I went to the reception (I was visibly scared) the only thing that staff told me was that “nothing like this had ever happened before” and that they couldn’t understand how the man could have arrived there. Then they just said “I am sorry”. I expected at least someone to go back with me to my room and check...or anything else they could do to apologise. I also asked to report to the police, but the man just printed a paper with the address of the nearest police station and told me “you can go there, it’s 15 minutes by walk”. I can understand that in a city like Barcelona things like these can happen, but the behaviour of the staff was not acceptable. How can hotel guests feel safe if the staff are not on their side to help??

Location is good, rooms are good but small for a family of 3, the pool is very small and without services, the breakfast is very good but the breakfast staff is not so awful, I thank the reception staff for the good services and professionalism in dealing with the guests.

My second visit to Barcelona, and Catalonia La Pedrera. Fantastic experience, great facilities, great location. Very happy with my experience. I highly recommend this hotel, for the reasons above and mostly the great location, and experience of all of the surrounding streets and areas which all have something great to offer in terms of, markets, bars, restaurants, entertainment.

We spent 2 weeks in Barcelona at La Catalonia La Pedrera. The hotel represents a great value, is in a great location... we were able to pretty much walk anywhere we wanted to go; our room had AC and the rooftop pool was a great spot to relax after a hot summer day exploring the city. Shout out to Roberto who went above and beyond helping us sort out some of our activities!

We had an excellent experience from start to finish. Staff were helpful Rooms was clean Breakfast was delicious and fresh Pool was a bonus! Location was accessible to all We definitely will recommend to family and friends!

Catalonia La Pedrera is a good choice for a stay in the Eixample area of Barcelona, just outside Paseig de Gracia with its beautiful Modernista buildings and at the footsteps of the fancy and lively Gracia. The hotel is modern, comfortable and with all the amenities expected for a 4 stars establishment. The economy rooms are clean but on the smaller side, with "Diagonal" being not only the nearest metro station (5 minutes walk if coming with the L3 line, 10 minutes with the L5) but also the position that people taller than 1.80 m should keep in bed unless they want their feet sticking out, but the sleeping quality seems to be pretty good also thanks to the blackout curtains. The bathrooms are fine and easy to access, with good toiletries. Overall the furniture seems slightly dated but nothing dramatic. The staff, with various proficiency in English, is overall well trained, helpful and professional, even though a few more smiles would not hurt (top marks to Marc, truly helpful and friendly). Very good breakfast, adequate WiFi connection. The small swimming pool on the roof is a welcome refreshment but truly enjoyable only if there is no more than 2-3 more people in the area. The lifts are a bit slow and temperamental. Rooms at higher floors are probably preferable to minimize the noise from the street, in case the room faces it, but the windows seem to offer a good sound insulation. Plaza Catalunya is at 20 minutes walking distance, rambla 25-30. From the airport one can take metro L9 and then change to L5 at Collblanc. The price is pretty competitive considering the location and the general fares in central Barcelona, actually on the cheap side (relatively speaking). Overall recommended.

Very nice location, near most everything you want to discover in Barcelona. We stayed three nights. Very good breakfast and service. Good internet connection. Many restaurants around to discover catalonian cuisine.

The hotel arranged the room very intimate, the two rooms we needed were very close. The hotel has a good breakfast and a wide variety. If you need to call a car when you go out, the front desk can help you call the car.

Pros: clean, quiet, well-located, breakfasts are very nice. Cons: Wi-Fi was unreliable and slow when it worked in the room (411). It was a bit better in the lobby, but still not that good. AC was a bit noisy too.
