My husband was traveling on business and we stayed here instead of near the convention center in order to be more central. This was a great choice as we were able to walk everywhere except the convention center. The husband took a 10 Euro cab ride to get there. The room was comfortable, clean with interesting decor. It had a bathroom with a bidet (which I don't know how to use and so cannot review) and tub/shower combo. There is no shower curtain, just a glass half wall which seemed to be pretty common in every hotel I was in in Europe. I didn't eat breakfast as there were a number of cafes quite close by and I really just wanted a muffin and a coffee. We did have beverages at the bar and that was nice. Try the local beer on tap! You are 2 minutes from Casa Batllo and 20 minutes walk from Las Ramblas, the Born area or Sagrada Familia. All of the personnel we're very nice and spoke English. They did not make fun of my high school, California-style Spanish for which I am grateful. I would absolutely stay here again!

Location is great in down town. The rooms has a good size and the beds is good. The breakfast is high class and the staff is kindlly. The bar is cool and makes good coctails. Fitness room is very good. Perfect for both business and pleasure.

Nice location near metro, OK room, dark marble bath room with tub, fine bed, you can open the window to let air and atmosphere in, wide selection for breakfast including fresh cut fruits, gym, bar, expensive.

Nice hotel in a good location in Barcelona. Just a short walk from some of the main shopping streets and restaurants. Wonderful rooftop patio with some great views of the city. Room is a bit small but typical of Europe. Bed was very comfortable. Would be willing to stay here again because of it's great location.

My family and I stayed at the Renaissance last week and we had an amazing time. The rooms are beautiful and the bed is probably the most comfortable I've slept in. The localization is pretty good, a lot of places are walking distance. Staff really good.

This property is located a very short distance from the Passeig de Gracia station. That's good for two reasons: first, the train from BCN stops here, making it a quick walk from the least expensive way to get downtown from the airport. second, this station is in the heart of Barcelona making it easy to get to many tourist destinations. We were upgraded to a room on the mouthy floor. My Marriott Platinum member profile states a preference for "high floors" and in a 10-story hotel, 4 is not a high floor. There was considerable traffic noise in our room, due in large part to the low floor on which we stayed. We also encountered a number of problems, all of which were (eventually) remedied by calls to the front desk. The (hand held) shower in the bath exhibited serious leaks. There were very few outlets in the room; only one at the desk. In an er where many high-end hotels offer USB charging ports, this room had none, and this was a serious problem for us. The toilet tissue holder in the bath was badly designed, with the result that the tissue all tended to fall off frequently. The thermostat repeatedly failed to maintain the set temperature. Although there were two face towels when we arrived housekeeping failed to replenish them, and this required two calls to remedy. Although the first desk staff was always polite, it was very annoying that we had to contact them so many time to remedy these numerous problems.

Good standard Marriott quality hotel. Wouldn't call it a Category 8, but we were nonetheless happy with our stay. Breakfast was great (tons of options in the buffet plus ability to get made-to-order omelettes, pancakes, waffles, etc.), though the bar food and service was just okay. The location was easy to use as a base for visiting the city and the front desk staff were very helpful.

This was my second stay at the Renaissance, and I have mixed opinions about this hotel. The location is perfect and the rooms were nice. The "Navigator" in the lobby was super helpful with providing directions, suggesting a place for dinner, and even giving us a copy of a walking tour she had created. But, the rooms were very noisy. Maybe it was the hardwood floors, but I felt like I could hear everyone above me and next to me walking around. Also, there was the issue of check-in. I had read a lot of reviews where people talked about rooms not being ready. I vaguely remember having to wait for my room the first time I stayed, but I thought that surely all those reviews must be a fluke. But, I arrived an hour after check-in time (and I had informed the hotel ahead of time of my arrival time), and what do you know? My room wasn't ready. I had to sit in the lobby for over an hour waiting. They did give me a complimentary drink from the bar, but after traveling all day, I would have rather just gotten into my room.

Only had one night in this fabulous hotel, but the room was ready early in the morning, the rooftop terrace is spectacular, the location really great, and the service impeccable. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Near the high end shopping street Gracia and not a far walk from the top end of La Rambla. Concierge staff is really great - helpful and knowledgeable regarding places to go. They sent us to Guadim for dinner which was really, really good food (see my review and food ordering suggestions) and only three blocks from the hotel. Cocktail lounge of the hotel had entertainment during the week and serves a limited food menu (hamburger was really good). Bartender will give you chips to snack on. Service at the bar was marginal. Bartenders weren’t busy and it was hard to get them to give you service let alone speak to you...most speak really good English in The hotels and restaurants. Bathroom is nicely appointed (great shower head and roomy). Bedroom is not particularly roomy and has limited storage space if you unpack your bags. It was a very quiet place which we appreciated (our room was on the back of the hotel) and we were on the 7th level. Breakfast was included in our room. We paid with Marriott reward points.
