We loved it here - the staff was helpful and friendly. We were super impressed with the spread at breakfast and great coffee options. The room was comfortable and clean. We had some wine and cured meats in the restaurant and our server was knowledgeable, friendly and we were impressed with his attention to detail.

The room was quite nice and the location is close to the metro and Les Ramblas. We absolutely loved the decor of the lobby.

This boutique hotel was perfect for a few days stay after our long Mediterranean Cruise. It is located a short walking distance to the popular Espana Square, where we were able to easily catch the Hop On-Hop Off Tour Bus, or pick-up the AeroBus to the airport. The hotel was clean, well-appointed, and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend if staying a few days in Barcelona.

Very nice and clean hotel. They have a great bar in the lobby, very quaint and quiet. Staff was nice and very helpful. we would book again.

First stay in Barcelona. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Gothic Quarter, and we enjoyed hiking all over the city from this base. For those wishing to take advantage of the excellent Metro, a stop is conveniently located but a block away from the hotel. The room was simple, modern, and well appointed. The bed was unusually large for a European hotel. Mattress maybe a bit too firm but slept well. Our only quibble might have been with the finicky thermostat. Some times we had the room roasting; other times it was frigid. The staff had an issue with the water one of the days when we were out exploring. We knew nothing of it, but they provided us with a letter of apology and an offer of a healthy pour of red wine in their bar as an apology. Truly enjoyed the stay and feel we received great value for the price.

Sweet staff, cozy, buzzing vibe. Clean and cute. Good value. Neighborhood slightly less central than some of the other hotels, but certainly close enough.

We liked this hotel for a vacation. Had lovely breakfasts. clean and comfortable rooms. excellent service.

Very nice room and rooftop terrace/bar. Location was close to the metro and right off a nice wide avenue. Only complaint is that the WiFi was very unreliable and we ended up using the hotel's computers to look up directions and activities.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel, everyone from the staff I met was very very friendly, hotel is beautiful , good location, I felt good there

Everything about Emilia was a perfect fit for my first visit to Barcelona..I had a short trip and enjoyed being so close to everything that I wanted to see. The staff were especially helpful and the live jazz was a great treat after a day of walking. I would recommend the hotel, especially to women travellers.

One block from the Metro but a bit away from the main attractions of Barcelona, this boutique hotel is modern and upscale and has a friendly and delightful staff. Highly recommend it.

We stayed at the Villa Emila for a week in April 2011. It is a lovely, convenient, well-managed small hotel. We chose to stay in a room that did not face onto the street because we are sensitive to noise. The room was wonderfully quiet. (We can't say whether the rooms facing the street were also quiet.) The room was very attractive, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom well set up (shower only). The staff was warm and helpful. We had never been to Barcelona before, and were not sure whether we wanted to stay nearer the old part of Barcelona. As it turned out, we were exactly where we wanted to be. There is a subway stop at the end of a very short block, so we could get to the tourist destinations very easily; and we could come back to the quiet of our neighborhood and the hotel when we wanted to. Our only criticism (a small one) was that the hotel sprayed a kind of cleaning solution in the air when making up the rooms. But as soon as we asked at the desk (and left a note in the room), they were very good about discontinuing use of the spray in our room. Our overall evaluation of the hotel is extremely favorable. If we ever go back to Barcelona, we will be sure to stay at the Villa Emilia.
