There is building work next to the hotel, which starts at 8.00am, which we were not informed of. The staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel is to far out from the attractions. The hotel is classed as 4 star but I would rate it as a 3 star. The review of 3 is purely down to the service from the staff and not the hotel which I was disappointed with,
Modern, clean hotel but a bit far from the Center. Staff were very nice and helpful. We had breakfast one morning and it had a good selection. One complaint is the freshener they use in the rooms, it was very strong. However, when I asked at the front desk for them to stop using it in our room they did.
We Stayed here for three nights. The location is not near the attractions but with metro or busses it's easy to get to the center of Barcelona. We suggest to use the bikes that hotel offer to the customer ( please make maintenance at the bikes!!!) The room was clean and a comfortable . There's space to improve breakfast. The staff is very friendly.
Very helpful staff, great views and modern, clean, well-equipped rooms. Very comfortable beds. Minimum noise for the middle of a city. Plenty of tapas bars, restaurants around and a launderette round the corner. We did not eat here as plenty of cheaper good, cheaper food around. There is a lovely roof terrace with a bar and a pool, although the pool is very cold! Sunbeds enable a bit of discreet sunbathing. Fantastic views from the roof. Hotel is full of interesting art which makes it a bit different.
Clean hotel, good sized comfortable room with safe, tea/coffee making facilities and minbar with room in fridge for large bottles of water. Excellent self service breakfast. Rooftop bar served lovely and reasonably priced cocktails and there is also a small pool. Good location - we didn't want to be right in the tourist bit but all the major attractions were easily accessed on foot (or for those further afield, there is an excellent bus and metro service). Mainline railway station just down the road. Check in not until 2pm but secure luggage storage available and checkout was 12.00pm (could be extended for an additional cost). Staff very pleasant and spoke very good English. Would happily return.
We arrived at noon on a Friday (9/15), but check in wasn't until 2 and our room was not yet ready. Not their fault, really, so we stretched out on a couch in the lobby while we waited. The manager was kind enough to ask my wife to get her feet off of the cushions even though we had just arrived after a 14 hour journey. The room was a bit small, but comfortable. The view was pleasant enough, overlooking the street from the 6th floor. We didn't have breakfast included in our stay but there are a number of choices nearby - recommend La Pastisseria down the street. The maid service was excellent, there are a couple of metro stations about 10 minutes walk each, and the Mercat del Ninot (for groceries) was very close. I'd characterize this hotel as clean, professional, and a bit on the sterile side. The employees were friendly enough, but not particularly warm or comforting as previous reviews seem to have indicated. But they did their jobs well, and we have no complaints. I'd recommend this hotel to people. But it is a measured endorsement, to be sure.
Had a lovely week in Barcelona no small prt to this great Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. Room was clean and well appointed with a large comfortable bed and even a pillow menu for the perfect nights sleep. A good choice of breakfast is included and cocktails and a plunge pool from the roof terrace. My only criticism is the lack of a restaurant for evening meals, although strangely a good room service menu is available. Note that at the time of writing there is also a large construction site directly next door, but obviously this is beyond the control of the hotel, but is noisy during the day, however, Barcelona is so lovely there is no reason to be in the hotel during the day. Whilst not in the centre of town the metro is only a 5-10 minute walk away ( buy a multi journey ticket (10 journeys) it's far cheaper that way €9.95 and the ticket can be shared.) and is easy to navigate. A mini bar is included in the room, but is not cheap and also be aware that a city tax is payable on checking out (only 20 something euros) over all thoroughly recommended and we would happily return.
We stayed for 4 nights and found the hotel to be in a perfect location - really easy to get to and from the airport as the A1 bus stops at (Urgell) about 7-8 minutes' walk away, which runs every 5 minutes and has plenty of luggage storage (unlike the cheaper city buses). You can buy tickets online before you arrive to avoid the queues and it's not expensive - much cheaper than a taxi. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk from the central Placa de Catalunya, but there are plenty of buses that you can catch nearby if you don't feel energetic. There's also a metro station at Urgell where the bus drops you off. We walked in to town each day and enjoyed wandering past the shops, cafes and restaurants on the way. There are lots of good restaurants within 10 minutes walk, which are away from the main tourist hot spots, so of better quality and price. The room itself was comfortable, with a bath & shower combination, black out curtains, safe, minibar, plenty of sockets and most importantly, clean. Breakfast, which was included in our hotels.com room rate, was buffet style and with plenty of variety - fresh pastries, fresh fruit, cheeses, cold cuts of meat, scrambled egg, sausage & bacon, cereals, breads, rolls and various fruit juices. Coffee is from a bean to cup machine and a multitude of different tea bags are also available. Everything we needed to set us up for the day. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for a night. The positives - The staff were really helpful and the room was clean. The cons - The location is out of the way. The bed was awful. Hardly slept. It was rock hard and there was no proper bedlinen, just a thin sheet. It got cold and there was a very old blanket in the cupboard. It was nowhere near 4 star. Strangely they had a pillow menu though? If they could improve the bedding it would be much better.
Thankfully it wasnt boiling hot during my stay because the A/C in my room just wouldn't cool it down, the maximum setting could barely be felt, and everything shuts off once you leave the room, so it warms up while you're enjoying your day outside. The shower temp was also an issue.. always going from boiling hot to cold within every minute, which was the most frustrating. Bed was also way too hard for my liking. And lack of a comforter. The good sides are the room size, looks and cleanliness, along with the nice rooftop. Unfortunately, I will not stay there again as other hotels offer rooftop and clean rooms without all the downsides...
