Stayed here for a few nights for a birthday trip. The hotel is lovely, the staff are very helpful, and the room was comfy and spacious! Unfortunately we didn’t have a great view as the building opposite was having work going on so a lot of noise and not pretty views. The only other downside to our room is that the air con didn’t seem to work that well, we came back and the room was like a sauna! However the rooftop bar and pool area was lovely - unfortunately too cold for us to try the pool, but would be perfect in the summer! Seemed to be quite a way out from Las Rambla but the taxi journey wasn’t too expensive! Would definitely stay here again!!
Very friendly staff and clean rooms, city centre is easy to reach with metro or by feet (20 min aprox.). Nice bar at rooftop, enjoy city by nice weather. Hotel is definitly recommendable! We will def come back.
We had never stayed at a Sercotel hotel before, so had no idea what to expect. We were traveling to Barcelona and wanted to bring out little dog - and since the Sercotel was pet friendly for a small fee of $15 per day, it made sense to give it a try. The reviews were solid in multiple spots, the location worked out nicely for us, the costs were more than reasonable, etc. Everything about the experience was quite good. The staff was incredibly attentive and nice, the rooms were quiet for the most part, they were bigger than expected and well kept. I would highly recommend this hotel... we would definitely stay here again.
From the moment we walked into the hotel we knew we had chose well. The receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful - made us feel welcomed and at home immediately. The rooms were clean and spacious. It is in a good part of town, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre yet within a walking distance. metro/ bus stop/ supermarket and pharmacy all nearby. Couldn't recommend this hotel more.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Room was lovely, unfortunately for us no view apart from concrete walls of adjoining blocks. Bed was very comfortable. Did get a bit warm in the room but the air-con didnt work so opened the window. Bathroom was huge and shower temramental usual complimentary items including a razor and toothbrush. Room had a free safe. Breakfast was really nice. Even had decaf coffee along with juices etc. Hot food bacon, scrambed egg and mini sausages, toast as well as the contintenal breakfast. Would I stay in this hotel again, yes. We found it to be a 20 minute walk into town. As we travelled in November we didnt use the pool. We used the bus tours which saved the feet and was a good way to see most of Barcelona. We were warned about pick pockets so didnt carry handbags and avoided putting our phones in our back pocket.
Perfectly located, not too far from centre while away from crowded tourist spots. Nicely laid out spacious rooms with all amenities. Good breakfast spread. They have cycling facilities also, though did not use. Barcelona has every time more and more dedicated lanes for cycling.
Very good welcome and the staff were all excellent. Breakfast was also excellent. Bedroom was very nice although we had a room without a view. We were promised a bottle of Cava in the room which was not there. It did arrive the next day after we had asked for it. The TV had a notice saying no or weak signal. After speaking to staff we were told you just need to choose a channel which did work although signal kept breaking up. We didn't really want to watch it so wasn't a big issue for us. The room itself was clean and very spacious, as was the bathroom. Only issue with the bathroom was that the shower kept going hot and cold. Bed was VERY comfortable. It was warm in the room until we opened the window. Tried to cool it with the air con but that did not work. The telephone and the safe also did not work. We did use the room service and the prices seemed reasonable but had to go down to reception to order it. Location of the hotel is about 20 min walk to city centre and about the same to Sants railway station. We got the bus from the airport (term 2C) as it was right outside. This was 5.90e each 2 stops from the airport and a 20 min walk. We got the train back to the airport from Sants which was 4.10 e each. It is a longish walk at the airport if you want to go to 2C but 2a or B is fine. We did not make use of the free cycles at the hotel so cannot comment. Given 4 stars for the room, breakfast and the staff just the few issues brought it down and in particular the shower.
Nice airy room in a lovely hotel with a nice layout, can be a bit noisy with passing traffic (particularly the bee baws). Lovely breakfast with piping hot food and real mugs (how novel is that) for tea/coffee, you can have your tea/coffee in a proper cup as well if you so desire. The WIFI could be intermittent but OK. A little bit away from Plaça de Catalunya and Las Ramblas, about a 30 minute pleasant walk. There are lots of restaurants or cafe bars along the way where you can sit outside and watch the world go by. The hotel has a few city bikes in the reception, I'm not sure if there is a charge but I regret not using them, would be a great way to get around. Barcelona has a population of 1.6 million, 1.5 million of them must have scooters, I've never seen as many, anywhere. There probably aren't accurate figures for the number of pickpockets but they abound, they are not a physical threat but you just need to stay on guard all the time, don't be stupid or let your guard down and you will be fine. The Montjuic fountain is about a 10/15 walk from the hotel, a very pleasant walk, well worth a visit for the show (Thursday to Saturday 9pm & 9:30pm at the moment). Trying times for the locals at the moment, but never felt in the least bit threatened by the situation.
We stayed here last weekend as a group of 8, we were all put on the same floor, without being asked which was thoughtful. We were all pleased with the quality and size of the rooms, The little extras like the tea and coffee making facilities within the room was welcomed. All in all the hotel lived up to our expectations, although the swimming pool on the roof terrace is more like a plunge pool. The roof terrace bar was a nice place to start our evening, especially with a free complimentary drink. It was a good 20 minutes walk down to Las Ramblas, but I liked this as you are away from the main thoroughfares. We didn't take the hotel up on their offer of the free bike hire but having spent a few days in the city, having seen their cycle routes, if we go again we may take them up on their offer. I can't comment on the breakfast as we decided at 15 euros each it was a bit steep as we could get breakfast for the both of us for under 15 euros. If you opt to stay here I am sure you will not be disappointed.
There is building work next to the hotel, which starts at 8.00am, which we were not informed of. The staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel is to far out from the attractions. The hotel is classed as 4 star but I would rate it as a 3 star. The review of 3 is purely down to the service from the staff and not the hotel which I was disappointed with,
