I was looking forward to staying at this hotel as the photos and reviews looked very impressive, here are a few things you should be aware of. I’d say that in comparison to other hotels I’ve stayed in , this one is over priced for the amenity’s, the staff were fairly helpful but when we spoke to the director he was pretty rude when we complained about the lack of air con. I mean what woman would want to get changed/ sleep with a window open when you have a main road and a construction site opposite? Have a look at other hotels in the area, you’ll get more value for money. Building site - There is the construction of a new block of flats/ hotel right next to this hotel looking now at other reviews it’s been going on for at least a year and isn’t showing signs of stopping! The photos don't really include this, so be prepared for construction noise from early morning to early evening. For anyone staying in the rooms next to the main road it’s pretty loud, also this is very loud whilst on the rooftop bar so makes for a less than relaxing experience. Bedrooms- We booked a room to sleep three, the room itself was nice enough and the bathroom was spacious, however all they’d done was add a cot bed into the space where the bedside table had been which was disappointing as I’d have expected three actual beds. This room is comfortable for two people but it’s a push to accommodate three and becomes very cramped. The bathroom is always very warm also as there isn’t any real air conditioning in it and what air-conditioning IS available in the rooms is at the mercy of the hotel director. This means that if they decide to, it will only blow hot air OR cold – which you’ll appreciate in a room with 3 people and a construction site/ main road outside, opening the windows ( which was the suggestion when we complained to the hotel director ) Isn’t the best solution for this problem so we had no air con for 2 out of the 3 days we stayed. Roof top bar-There IS one on the roof but it isn’t open at the moment, I think it does opens in the summer however. If you want to have a drink on the roof, you must ring the bell for a waiter to come and take your order and they will go away /make the drink and return with it. It’s easier to just bring up your own and store it in the mini fridge in your room, which you can purchase from the local “supermarcat” across the road ( you’re welcome). As for the pool, well… Let’s say that if you pushed off from the edge you’d hit your head in the other side, it’s about the size of a large Jacuzzi and could only accommodate 4/5 people at most . With the construction site opposite I can’t see many people taking advantage of the pool/ sunbeds, but with enough alchohol anything is fun! Checking in/ out- When we arrived it was around 11am, we were told check in wasn’t until 2pm but if we paid an extra 10 euros per room we could go in early, most hotels I’ve stayed in just let you in and don’t charge for it! Also there is a “city tax “which we had to pay, this was 1.80 euro a day, per person and per room. By the time we checked out, we owed an extra 47 euros between the five of us (over two rooms) and that was without air con for two days !
This is a nice affordable hotel but in my opinion too far from all the central activities. What I saved in the room rate, I spent double on taxis to get everywhere. They offered a kids welcome pack upon check-in which was a nice touch. The hotel also offered bikes- free for first come first serve- never saw more than 1 available, and rental. The front desk was able to give us a bike rental shop name that offered bikes much cheaper located near the beach. The heating/cooling, as mentioned in previous reviews, is centrally controlled so we had to open our windows to cool off but were woken up numerous times from all the foot traffic outside on the street below.
We had a very nice 6-night-stay in this hotel. Excellent service, walking distance to the city, comfortable rooms and a nice little pool on top of the building. We were especially pleased with the bikes to rent for free and recommend the hotell to offer more than two bikes in the future. A good hotel to explore Barcelona for the first time. Thank you to the excellent personal on the hotel!!
The service was excellent and the breakfast very good. The suite was really good size for family with both shower and bath.would definitely stay again. Nice walking distance to two metro lines. Good restaurants in the neighborhood.
This hotel is about a 30 minute walk from La Rambla but has 2 metro stations within 5-10 minutes walk. The metro was very convenient and easy to use. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a great selection, possibly the best we’ve ever experienced.
Stayed here 1 night in a double room (single use). Chose this hotel mainly for the location (proximity to Barcelona Sants railway station) and reasonable price (prepaid offer). Liked: + Very comfortable bed, linen and pillows. Had a good sleep! + A safety box, a kettle (+free tea, coffee, water) and mini-bar in the room. + Friendly staff at the reception. + Convenient location for those who need to travel somewhere from Sants railway station (not more than 15 min on foot). About 10 min from one of the stops of Aerobus from the airport (Gran Via - Urgell). About 15 min to the Magic Fountain. In the nice neighbourhood of Eixample. + Good value for money (in my case). Disliked: - The fact that my room had a door (locked) to the adjacent room. You can hear everything that happens in the neighbouring room through this door. If I'd stayed at the hotel longer than 1 night, I'd have asked to change the room. Fortunately, our timetable about when to go to bed coincided and it was quiet at night but in the evening I was "lucky" to listen to a "live pop concert" with my neighbour as a soloist:) - Not the best condition of the bathroom. The bidet was leaking. GENERAL IMPRESSION. Positive but 1) make sure you need this very location. If you are interested in the very centre of the city (the main part of Las Ramblas, Barrio Gotico or Liceu), this hotel is a little bit far away. 2) avoid rooms which are supposed to be adjacent. WOULD I RETURN? Yes, to a quieter room, if I needed again this location and if the price were similar to what I paid.
The staff is extra friendly & helpful. We used the hotel bikes every day for free, and it made our stay lots of fun & convenient. Breakfast is good, fresh fruits & everything is nicely served. 20 min walk from the Ramblas, 20 min walk to L’illa shopping centre. We would definitely choose this hotel again.
Clean, quiet, and luxurious in size (bedroom AND bathroom). Especially given the fact it was only 90€ per night on booking.com Real perks are very affordable rates for early check in, late check out and breakfast buffet (which btw included even complimentary Cava and the rarity that are chia sedes + vegan friendly choices of milk). Would recommend any time.
One of the nicest and friendliest hotels I have ever stayed in the world. The hotel is very modern, clean and has a very relaxing feel to it. The Rooms are very modern, extremely clean and beds extremely comfortable - proper duvets and soft pillows, not just blankets which you get in must hotels. Bathroom is extremely spacious as there is plenty of room between the toilet and the shower/bath, great mist free mirrors and very soft towels! Breakfast is a bit better than your standard buffet breakfast on the continent, but you have all the necessaries and can eat as must as you want! The service was excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they recommended were to go and showed us in detail how to get there. They even sorted us out with FC Barcelona tickets an hour before the match at cost price. The hotel is within walking distance of everywhere. It is only 10 minutes walk from Sants train station, which has a regular train every 30mins to the airport. 15/20 minute walk from Las Rambla and Pl. de Catalunya, one of the main shopping and dinning areas, 15 minutes to Sagrada Família and 20 minutes walk from the Nou Camp. When we were checking out, I was very impressed with the way staff handled a very awkward and rude American pair, who were complaining and giving out before they even checking in. The dealt with the matter very professional and were extremely friendly and courteous to the pair.
The bed was extremely uncomfortable leading to a very poor first night's sleep. However, the next day the very helpful staff found a bed topper that improved the case. The rooms are straight-forward and clean. Our room only viewed a brick wall rather than the city.
