The good: - Clean and decently sized hotel room. - Walking distance to the Gothic Quarter (right opp the start of the Gothic Quarter) - Easy to get from Airport: Took Aerobus (€5.90/pax), stopped at Plaça Catalunya, walked to Urquinaoa Metro (5 mins walk from where Aerobus stops you), then a direct train to Barceloneta station. 2 mins walk away from Hotel. - Good nearby restaurant - Perikete (lovely tapas bar), 7-Portes Restaurant (good paella) The bad - Not a safe neighbourhood. Surrounded by dark corner alleys. Was a victim of pickpocketing right at the hotel whilst smoking (lost my iPhone on Day 3 of my trip). A lot of drunkards shouting in the middle of night too. - Amenities like hot water boiler, facial tissue, earbud etc, toothbrush not provided. Soap n shampoo all came in little sachets. - Heater/aircon not working. Had to keep the windows open permanently for ventilation (with the noise coming in from outside, best to bring ear plugs!)
It was great time in Barcelona in May 2017 year.Very comfortable, cosy and hospitable hotel with light coloured rooms.Hotel situated near beautiful park, walk distance to La Rambla, near metro station and beach. Also close to bus station from were you can travel to nearest cites. WiFi worked very good.Have a nice stay. And for the next time in Barcelona I will also choose this hotel.
Fantastic hotel in a great location. Don’t be put off by the 2 star rating it’s far better than that, Lovely rooms with everything you could need. Would 100% stay here again. We stayed for 3 nights in November, the rooms were warm and inviting and we were welcomed by friendly staff. Only a short distance from the metro station and bars / shops.
We did a long weekend here. First rate simple modern and clean. Great location. 10 mins from the beach and from city. Recently renovated a delight. You cannot want more. The staff were lovely too. Highly recommend
I can't recommend this place enough, the location is great, just over 10 mins away from the beach, about the same to the gothic quarter and other attractions and restaurants nearby. The room was of a good size, modern, nice bathroom and very comfortable. The breakfast was basic though good. Staff were friendly and they also store your luggage for you too. I would certainly recommend this hotel, it's great value.
I enjoyed a week at the Santa Marta. The location was perfect next to the Franca train station and barceloneta metro station very close to the bus stops along with the red city siteseeing bus stop. Short walking distance from gothic quarter and many key areas within the heart of the city. The room was quite and very clean. The staff was very Helpful especially Tarek at the from desk. The morning breakfast/coffee was very good. Good selection and yummy cheeses, breads and fruits. I would include yogurt to the selection. I will stay here again. Appreciate the hospitality. Thank you, till the next time!
Hotel well located. Pleasantly surprised by the room, it was large and modern and a nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I felt that the hotel was good value for the location. Reception staff pleasant enough.
They claim just two stars, but this gem is worth much more. Maybe it is the price that is two star, but the facility is better than that. It is located just one block from the Old City and one block from a subway stop. It is walking distance from the Picasso Museum, Las Ramblas, the Cathedral, and (in the opposite direction) the beach. Dozens of great restaurants are nearby. Breakfast is not included but costs only seven euros per person. We stayed there five nights in September 2017. The people behind the desk not only spoke perfect English but were willing and able to advise about tourists sites, use of the subway, and anything else. We wanted tickets to the Sagrada Familia Cathedral when we arrived. The man (Carlos) brought up the website on his computer, secured the earliest reservations, and printed them out for us, before we even went up to our rooms. We were set. The facility is clean and bright in its newness, The wifi worked fine. The street they are on is a little dirty, just a block from a major thoroughfare. That quiet street on one side and a quiet plaza on the other means the hotel is quieter than one might expect in a bustling city. Highest recommendation for price, facility (in a business hotel sense), location, and personnel.
It's a nice hotel on a very good location. I must admit I maybe expected a bit more from our stay, but overall it was ok. Our room was quite small but we were outside the whole day so it wasn't that much of a problem.
The location is good for browsing through the Barri Gotic neighborhood. The Barceloneta metro stop is a short walk from the hotel if you want to explore sites further away or get to the Plaça Catalunya to catch the bus to the airport. However, it's hard to get near the place by car; we had to double park to check in and unload the car. After that, it was a bit of a chore driving from there to the office to drop off the rental car on the "Diagonal." Room was good size and quiet. A/C worked well -- once we closed the windows. (The front desk gave us the secret for that!) The only thing that didn't work out was our wake-up call: it was 45 minutes early. We set the phone alarm so we didn't need the call; it was just for insurance. Losing 45 minutes of sleep was disappointing.
