Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff friendly hotel was clean. Breakfast was great, good enough to set you up for the day. Fresh laundry daily. The situation of the hotel was the best for accessing the whole of Barcelona. Was tucked out of way from the hustle and bustle but it takes only 5 minuets to get to las Rambla and the Port Vell.
Don’t let the 2 stars throw you off, a lot of 3 star hotels are less well equipped and service oriented. This place allowed us to maximize our limited time in Barcelona by walking nearly everywhere. Being on the edge of the gothic quarter was great to access the best bars and restaurants.
Really good hotel. Amazing location, close every mode of public transport you could ask for! Very clean. Friendly staff. The only thing i could possibly improve is the wobbliness of the lift... it's a little unnerving. Overall, great experience and would 100% return!
Stayed here in March this year for 3 nights. Chose this hotel as it was away from ramblas where we have stayed before and although great..too noisy at night. The santa Marta was lovely and quiet. Good location. Near to the zoo and port. Easy to get to the beach. Very clean. Lovely staff. Great buffet breakfast. Rooms big, modern and very clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back
There were 10 of us who stayed at Santa Marta for 3 nights. For the price, this is a great hotel! Conveniently located, easily accessible to many of the major attractions. Lots of places to eat nearby, including a small shop 2 blocks away. Please know: if you want a double bed, you need to request it way in advance, and even when you request there’s no guarantee. There’s only ~4 double beds in the hotel, the rest are twins. The buffet isn’t at all worth the cost. You can get more bang for your buck nearby, and will have better options. (They said they had hot meals, and I assume they were referring to the bread you can toast of the hard boiled eggs. Nothing else was hot). For the price you pay, this hotel is definitely worth attending. I would certainly be back if ever I came back to Barcelona.
This is such a nice and well presented hotel. It was clean, modern and spacious and surprisingly quiet for a city hotel. It's location is one of the highlights! Right next to Estacio De Franca - one of the main train stations into Barcelona city and also very close to the harbour. The reception staff were also very nice helpful. I would certainly recommend and stay here again.
We stayed here for 4 nights while on a visit to Barcelona. The room was a decent size, cleaned daily to a good standard. The hotel was well looked after. Breakfast was continental, not the greatest choice but more than enough to get you started for the day The hotel was well situated, plenty of places to eat roundabout, a metro station less than 5 mins away, 10 min walk to the bottom of La Ramblas, 15 mins to the arc de triumphe and 40 mins walk to La Sagrada Familia. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, even booking our tickets to certain attractions in Barcelona Highly recommended
this hotel ticked all the boxes for us. Centrally situated within easy reach to Metro, main bus route, train station, and certain tourist attractions like the Arc and The Ramblas, and Port Vell are within walking distance. The hotel is only rated 2* but should be more in our opinion. Very very clean, Very quiet, Breakfast was substantial, rooms were pristine, room temperatures were very comfortable and the shower / water was as hot as you could take it. Overall had a brilliant 3 day break (just returned home) and would definately recommend and return. The staff were very courtious, helpful and pleasant. Couldnt ask for more and reasonable prices as well.Only thing for those who like a drink, it does not have a bar, but that didint borth us, we just went out local for drinks and food.
We booked our Barcelona trip in July 17 but when we arrived at the hotel they denied any knowledge of our booking. After about 20 mins waiting as they checked their records and made several calls we were advised that they had had a problem with their computer system, which had happened several times before, and our reservation hadn’t been processed. Arrangements were made for us to stay at their sister hotel the ‘del Mar’ about 500m away. We are unable to compare the hotels but the ‘del Mar’, whilst one star higher, had a customer rating less than the Santa Marta. We would suggest that you confirm your booking with the hotel prior to traveling to stop this happening to you, as we’re sure, it would be far more difficult to find an alternative in season.
I stayed here for 3 nights with my adult children and I really can't fault it. For a 2 star hotel it is a bargain, it also means the tourist tax is cheap. Very clean and well appointed rooms with decent toiletries not luxury but did the job. Plenty of towels too. Breakfast was excellent, not a vast choice but plentiful. Decent coffee too. The staff were friendly and always said hello when we came in. I saw another comment about it not being given a safe area and that is utterly ridiculous. Pickpockets are rife in Barcelona but I never once felt unsafe, you just have to keep your wits about you and be careful with your belongings. The street was quiet but close to some excellent bars and restaurants that stay open late. It's also close to the zoo, the Parc Citadella, the marina, the beaches and a minute walk from La Rambla, although there are better shops and bars closer, you just have to explore the alleys round about. I certainly will return. Thank you for a lovely break.
