What a great find this place is! This is so convenient I feel we should actually keep this a secret for ourselves for our next visit. Spotless clean and friendly staff. With loads of great tapas bars close by and the beach in the other direction. We will be back..... please!

The hotel is very good for the price, it is located in a beautiful place near the market EL BORN and very close to a supermarket and a train station but it is very quiet. The staff is very caring and they helped us with ease. In our staying we hadn't the breakfast included but paying 7€ we ate there ( croissants, tea, coffee, cappuccino, bread, jam, the same stuff that you find everywhere but they did not had bacon ). The room was clean and it was cleaned every morning in our 3 days staying, said so I will recommend this structure for a not so pricy vacation.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days in April 2017 with my 2 sisters. We were greeted kindly at the hotel reception (I would highly recommend taking a printed copy of the confirmation of your hotel booking, as well as a receipt of payment if possible.) The hotel is in a great location, on a quiet little street – just five minutes from the metro, the zoo, the cathedral and the marina. We didn’t choose to eat at the hotel – although a breakfast buffet is provided for a generous 7 euros. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area, so plenty of choice for food if you do choose to go out instead. We were provided with a room with 4 beds for the 3 of us so there was more than enough room. When we were given they key to our room, we were also given the details to access the free WiFi. The bathroom was much larger than expected, with a very modern and spacious walk in shower. Due to the quiet location, we had no trouble sleeping – the room also had thick, blackout curtains which kept it cool from the sun and allowed a nice lie in. Checkout is required before 12pm – however, as our flight was late at night they allowed us to store our luggage for the rest of the day free of charge. Overall, we had a great stay and had everything we needed! Would stay again if visiting the city.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a short break in Barcelona. We had a lovely time! The hotel was in a great location with a 2 minute walk to the metro and restaurants and bars. The room was fairly small but was everything we needed it to be. We found a lovely tapas restaurant which served incredible food and drink for a very reasonable price and it was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel- La Fresca. Great first break in Barcelona!

We travelled as a family of 4 celebrating our sons 18th. Santa Marta was a great find. We had a family room staying on a room only basis, but decided to have breakfast 3 mornings. The buffet choice was very good and kept us going most of the day. The nearest metro 3 min walk. Marina with all the posh boats and restaurants 5 mins walk. Beach 15 min walk. Aquarium and start of las ramblas 15 min walk. My 13 year old daughter became an expert on pizzas she had over 8 from various restaurants. Our favourite restaurant just 5 mins from hotel Boun Apetito best pizzas in Barcelona. Just along the road from Boun Apetito was parc de citadel. Tranquility from the bustle of the city with ornate fountains and we had great fun on the boating lake. But of course our highlight was a tour of the Sagarda Familiar the stained glass Windows are amazing but you must book in advance.

Stayed here for four nights on the second floor, adequately serviced by an elevator. The room was of good size, the bathroom well laid out with a sizable shower which was easy to work, and was very quiet as we suspect every room is since it is on a back street. it is within easy walking distance of the Metro Barceloneta station, two mini-supermarkets and a cafe where we chose a more frugal breakfast than that offered at the Santa Maria Hotel. It is also within walking distance of the marina, the Barri Gotic, and museums such as the Picasso museum. Should we return to Barcelona we would have no hesitation in choosing to stay here again.

Very nice! The hotel was reformed two years ago, so the installations are very new. There are rooms to accomodate 3 adults or a family (2 adults and 2 children, my case). The room was very clean and wide. Good bathroom with bath tube, hot shower. Breakfast is good and cheap (7€ per person). The team gave us all the attention needed and helped us to buy tickets for city tour! The localization is great, calm, silent and very close to the port, beaches, Las Ramblas, Barrio Gotic, Catedral, Palau de Mar (very good restaurants there), Zoo. Walk distance to all these points. Subway station side by side with the hotel (Estació de França). Good cost benefit, I strongly recommend Hotel Santa Marta in Barcelona!

I initially booked hotel Lyon, but was assigned to this hotel (after asking my permission). I checked reviews online and was fine with it. This hotel was great, clean, friendly staff, room was spacious (like 4 ppl could sleep inside) and was quiet at night. Location is good, near all the main areas and train station is like 2 minutes walk away. Only thing it may be difficult to see from the main road. They should put a sign board somewhere along the main road to make it easier to locate..

I'd probably give it 4 stars, but they started to do a lot of noise (like hitting something with the hammer and moving furniture) in the morning, last day of my stay. Other than that, the hotel is very clean and is situated 2 minutes on foot from the Franca station, from where you can easily get to Sants. Also, it's within walking distance to the Aquarium, the Zoo, La Rambla, the old port and many museums. The wifi in the room was very fast and reliable. There is nothing really to complain about, but if I have to be picky, I'd say a single lift is a problem because you have to wait very long before it comes. I ended up taking the stairs and not even bothering with the lift, as it just saves a lot of time. Also, the breakfasts are disappointing, I don't think they serve anything hot there, but hey, it's only 7 euros. Oh, and you can hear everything that is going on in the hallway, there is a big gap under the room door, and the room doors are very loud, so if you like silence this may be problematic at times.

6th time in Barcelona!! Stayed at Santa Marta Hotel Barcelona for 2 nights end of March with my mum and sister and after 5 previous times in the City id definitely stay at Santa Marta again....fantastic location!! Really spacious (family) room (4 beds) with a little balcony which was nice to open up each morning. Immaculately clean. Cannot believe its only a 2* hotel which is obviously only because of the amenities the hotel does not offer (a pool...but on a city break that is not an issue! Or a bar for a late night cap before bed). Vending machines in reception though and lovely leather couches and tables you can sit and relax / read papers etc. If you wanted. Plenty of bars / tapas / restaurants/supermarkets/ Tabac shops accross the main road..2 min walk! Main train station right there too. Boarder of Barrio Gothic and El Born...great area! Cuitadella Park and the Zoo are 5-10 mins walk up the road nice and relaxing..great overall stay and staff very friendly/helpful too.
