On arrival to the hotel we were given no help to the room with our bags, despite clearly struggling. Our room was extremely low quality; the beds were hard with protruding springs. The water in the shower jumped between being luke warm and scalding hot on its own accord, the food at breakfast was stale -there was no fresh coffee and no service at all - the cost of breakfast isn't cheap so this wasn't an acceptable standard. We were kept awake all night with loud banging noises - we appreciate this wasn't the hotels fault however having been assured the room was quiet this was disappointing. Even with the windows shut we could still hear. When complaining to staff they offered no help and repeatedly informed us that the manager wasn't available. We then decided on our first morning to move to another hotel so as to save ruining our holiday. We booked this trip through secret escapes who were very friendly but did not resolve the issue. We have still not been refunded for our week in the hotel. Very disappointed in secret escapes and hotel Ofelias. Do not use this hotel and avoid Secret Escapes.
Very comfortable and cozy hotel, tiny and very well cared. Staff very helpful and a special compliment for the decor and the delicious breakfast. After trying other hotels in Barcelona, this will be my choice from now on. Cross the street and eat at Pura Brasa, a very special and good food restaurant.
We spent one night at this hotel before catching our flight out. The hotel is quaint and elegantly designed. Our room was lovely. Only seemed it hadn't been dusted properly which we could see on the surfaces. Not a fan of the open ensuite style. Otherwise it is centrally located as we were a 5 minute walk from the Aerobus (airport shuttle bus) and also close to the magic fountain and arena.
We booked this hotel as part of a business trip. Little did we know how beautiful this hotel would be. Located next to a shopping mall which is ideal if you want to get away for a bit and enjoy some retail therapy or restaurant food. The staff speak English and are very helpful. The rooms are incredibly clean and tidy with a fresh look to give you that peaceful feeling each morning. We also had breakfast included in our stay and the dining area is fit enough for an afternoon tea house. Elegant design with the most peaceful of atmospheres. I would definitely return to this hotel should I visit Barcelona again.
We found this hotel offered everything we wish from a boutique hotel. Quiet and cosy, yet bright and welcoming and I loved the interior design of the rooms. Lovely breakfast in a beautiful room. In fact, as soon as you walk into the reception area from the street you are immediately calm and relaxed and feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle outside. We were there during the protests on 2 October but it didn't really affect our stay, and it was happening pretty much right outside our hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and good value. Good location for all the sights and a nice shopping centre with restaurants on the roof was right opposite.
The hotel is a small hotel, modern, nice and elegant. Rooms are very well equipped and the space is intellingently used. Front desk people very friendly and helpfull. Close to subway, sightseeing bus stop, shopping mall, restaurants.
Ofelias is a quaint little hotel in Barcelona. It is located within walking distance from such attractions as the Olympic stadium and museum. There is also great shopping and wonderful dining nearby as well. The room was cozy and the staff was courteous and helpful. This gem of a hotel is a great place to stay.
I’ve been meaning to right this review for awhile after spending five days in this boutique hotel . The staff were very unfriendly never greeted us leaving the hotel or when we got back . Everyday the person cleaning the room would either remove both coffee mugs and not replace . Or keep one coffee mug dirty and remove the other one . And this happened every day ! On our last day there , after being out the entire day when we returned our room wasn’t made up . When we talked to the receptionist he told us there is nothing he could do . Upon checkout I mentioned it to another lady on duty that morning and she didn’t even offer an apology . The people managing this hotel need to know they are doing a terrible job in hospitality .I didn’t expect such horrible treatment and service and I paid over 1400 euros for my entire stay ! Such a waste of money . The beds were as hard as a board . The housekeeper Also walked in on us one of the days we were still sleeping . AVOID This hotel !! sucks!!!
The hotel is situated in a lovely area of Barcelona, excellently situated for all the necessities required for a lovely and carefree holiday. The airport bus, hop on hop off buses, fountains, beautiful sites and some good restaurants. Our room was extremely clean with fresh bed linen and towels every day. Breakfast could be expanded a little more, mainly with a variety of eggs and vegetables such as mushrooms. Please be aware that breakfast times are 07.30 - 11.00 which is good if you do not have an early flight especially when you pre - arrange a 'picnic breakfast' as we could not get a refund as we could not make the pre arranged breakfast timetable due to an early flight. We were offered a 'picnic breakfast' however this consisted of the night porter having no note of the breakfast request other than a black coffee and a white coffee and then reluctantly going personally to make a breakfast consisting of :- two coffees in polystyrene cups with no lids and the coffee spilling into the brown paper bags, a stale and now damp crossaint, an apple, a bottle of juice, a bottle of water and a yoghurt - disappointed to say the least. However we loved our stay and would return to Barcelona in a heart beat. Thank you Catalonia for your hospitality!
Beautiful boutique hotel on a quiet street right next to Placa Espanya and the Metro. It's walking distance to the Hop On Hop Off bus stop, many museums, and the beautiful palace. Felt very safe as a solo female traveler. My room on the 5th floor was bright, spacious, immaculate and the bed was heavenly. It was a little expensive but so worth it, especially travelling alone. The staff was very welcoming and they let me check in early (11 a.m.). Comfortable lobby with art books for browsing. Several lively tapas bars right around the corner -- one serves breakfast for a lot less than the hotel. Loved staying there and will stay there again when the magical fountains are on (Fri/Sat) because it's walking distance away!
