We stayed at hotel Lleo for 5 nights. And my experience was better than I expected. The room was very clean and spacious and the breakfast was great. A lot thanks to the amazing staff! I would recommend this place to everyone except light sleepers since the location is very central.

We stayed at the hotel with three other couples. Rooms were all clean, showers were fabulous and location was close to everything so we could walk Barcelona. The other couples all had views but we unfortunately received an inside room were our window faced a dark courtyard. Other than the lack of view I would stay at the hotel again.

We were very happy with our choice at The Leo Hotel. It was perfect!!! Great Location, Clean, Helpfully Staff and a Great Breakfast Buffet. The hotel is within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. ATM is right outside the front door along with a taxi stand. I highly recommend this hotel.

We had such a great time there! Magnificent location, friendly staff, clean and modern look! Will definitely go back there my next visit in Barcelona. The breakfast was so good I ate too much perfect hotel!

After requesting a new refurbished room, that Is what I was given. The room was lovely...but it didn't have a window I'm afraid I could'nt spend 3 days without any air coming in or natural light. The next morning I asked reception if it would be possible to swap this was no problem whatsoever. The bell boy Ian came promptly to show us to our new room(what a lovely fella he is) the room was fantastic!it had a massive window, jacuzzi it was faultless. The breakfast was of great selection all fresh&tasty i honestly have no complaints whatsoever about LLEO staff were all freindly Well done on running such a lovely hotel.

Welcoming staff'; helpful with information when requested. Decent (and varied) buffet breakfast - though not sure re. the wine selection at 8a.m. Nice lady in bar every evening was very nice and did her best to ensure you enjoyed your time there.

We made booking to the hotel 10 months before in order to get room from the backside of the building and upper floor. We even resend our desire some days before our arrival. No result. Our room was outdated room with back to 80´s interior design and located in basement with a view to concrete wall. Someway we manage to get a new room next day and that room was updated and clean. Breakfast selection was comprehensive but not very tasteful. Desk personnel was very reserved and not service friendly at all.

We reviewed so many hotels in Barcelona and we finally settled on Lleo Hotel for the first 3 nights of a 7 night stay in the city. We couldn't have been happier! The people at the desk were terrific....and yes, it's an easy walk from Placa Catalunya -- don't hesitate taking the Aerobus from the airport for 5.90e. It's a bargain. From the bus stop at Catalunya, walk directly through it to the opposite side and you'll be on the street to the hotel. Turn right, down a couple of blocks and you're there. Our plan was to grab the Hop On Hop Off bus for two days to explore (again an easy walk to the Placa where you'll find lots of tour buses and also lots of street vendors who duck the police by gathering up their goods with a sheet tied with rope at the corners. On the third day, we walked LaRamblas from Placa Catalunya to Boqueria Market. The hotel was in the perfect spot to do all this!. Our redecorated room was at the rear of the hotel near the elevator....no noise at all. The beds were comfy...just wish they'd dropped the idea of motorized beds and added some shelving in the bathroom. I felt like I was in a hospital so the bed stayed stationery during my stay. But the shower more than made up for the lack of shelving. Our room rate included breakfast and it was so worth it. Even wine in the morning, if you're so inclined. And you'll love the rooftop pool and patio area, I'd definitely stay here again!

First impression is not great due to lobby renovation. Room was fine, adjustable bed with lots of pillows was unexpected and very nice. WiFi worked fine for me. Also didn't use cafe, looked a little lonely. Super great location for La Rambla, Catalunya Sq. shopping, transportation. Staff was efficient, not friendly or unfriendly particularly. The rooftop pool and deck offered nice views in the early evening. I was travelling alone so the room was large enough for one (#519) but might not be great for two people for more than a couple days. The shower , once I figured out how to work it was , was really nice. For about 130 euros/night this is a good place to stay.

We chose the Hotel Lleo for price and location. Having travelled Europe quite extensively, it would appear that £125 per night doesn’t really get you that much here. We arrived in the middle of the hotel reception being renovated, at lunchtime, due to an early-ish flight from London. We were met by Olga, who didn’t quite issue the welcome we had hoped. We were somewhat curtly informed “your room is not ready”, so we asked what time we could return and were told 2pm. She then turned away from us and it was clear that her communication with us was over. A more pleasant young man (Jose?) labelled our bags for us and stored them. On return, we were given a room card and shown to the lift, but not the actual room. We were originally booked into Room 401, which was frankly a small laminate-floored cell with a bed in it, next to the lifts (along with Room 402). It was one of the newly-refurbished rooms, and had a frosted window, such as you might find in a bathroom, which when opened looked out onto what can only be described as a ‘shaft’ (see pictures). If you are allocated one of these rooms, please be aware that the clanging noise of the adjacent lifts will penetrate everything. We asked to be moved, and were offered the only available room left – Room 411. This was an unrefurbished room, but way down the corridor and around a couple of corners away from the lifts. Frankly the older style bed was more comfortable, and it had also had a bath, although the water never really ventured above ‘warm’, so a hot bath/shower was out of the question. It was just about bearable, but it made you not want to linger. The configuration of the bathroom also meant that if you sat on the toilet, your knees were touching the wall opposite. Having said all of this, it was only really an initial disappointment and the hotel was really just a base for us, as we were gone for about 9 hours of the day, popping back only to get changed for the evening and to sleep at night. It was also quiet. No noisy revellers coming in late, etc. Everything was also spotlessly clean. The breakfast room was the most pleasant aspect of the hotel. A sort of atrium room, light and airy and painted green. The breakfast served was quite adequate, both in quality and quantity, with hot options also provided. Check out is not until 12.00, which is quite generous, and probably accounted for our room not being ready on arrival. Our flight was not until evening, and they were quite happy to store our luggage for the day until we left town. The staff that checked us out were altogether more pleasant than the ones who checked us in on arrival. To sum up – expect a no-frills hotel, suitable mainly as a place to sleep. Probably the rooms with little balconies overlooking the street are better – we didn’t get to see those. Location is the best thing about Hotel Lleo. It’s about 3 minutes to Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya.
