Booked through Hotwire - big mistake this time since hotel's web had better price and included breakfast. We got a nice room almost on top floor. Not very big, but nice and clean. Buffet breakfast was good with a perfect choice for us to. Staff in the reception very helpful with all kind of information. It's not situated that close to 'Las Ramblas' but we like to walk and "feel" a city, so it was ok.
The hotel was booked for business for a week, this will not be happening again. Its billed as a 4 star hotel but is a reasonable 2 star or a poor 3 star. The rooms are tiny, cramped and claustrophobic. The wifi coverage does not actually the bedroom. The breakfast was included but very very poor. There was only a single blanket in the room as bedsheets and the aircon only pushed hot air. The walls were paper-thin so beyond 0630 hrs when my neighbours woke it was impossible to sleep. There were no English language channels on the room TV. All in all for a 'cheap' (quality not price) vacation hotel then perhaps, for a business trip, do not book here.
Booked for 5 nights December/January first night had no sleep at all the bed was so uncomfortable and the room was so loud (right next to stairway) second night was even louder (NYE) ended up booking another hotel instead for the following 3 nights would never stay here again!!! Rated as 4 stars I don't know how stayed in many much better 3 star hotels
we visited the abbot hotel this month for 3 nights. the hotel and the rooms are clean, better then any 5 stars hotel the breakfest is nice the staff friendly and nice the bed isnt comfortable close to the metro, 10 minutes from espanya square thank you abbot hotel!!
The staff was very friendly and always accommodated us by giving us great tips on what to do and how to get there (in English). The stay didn't include breakfast (additional charge) but the hotel is situated directly across the street from a grocery store and around the corner are many cafes. It's a 5 min walk to the metro and 10 min walk to plaza España. We would definitely stay there again!
When you sleep every night in a different bed, the first thing you expect and wish is to rest in a confortable bed. This hotel was disappointing for this reason, breakfast nothing special as well. It didn't look as a 4 stars hotel, staff was efficient nothing to complaint. Not recommended.
Lovely hotel, helpful staff, excellent Breakfast, located right in the city, lovely area to visit. No parking available for disabled vehicle users only around the block area, parking out front is 20 mins only. We had breakfast in the bar as breakfast area was split level, Lovely but an access problem for us, The staff set up a table for us in the bar and we had a romantic breakfast.
We stayed here for 4 nights in Barcelona and while we greatly enjoyed the location of the hotel which is close to the train station and metro, the hotel is dated. When we arrived at the hotel our room was one of the larger ones, but had a distinct smell of cigarette smoke, rather than change rooms we opened the window for 3 hrs which seemed to do the trick. However smoking in Barcelona should be expected but the hotel does very little to control and in fact I saw the staff on numerous occasions smoking outside the hotel but with the sliding doors open. The outside of the hotel has been renovated but the inside, especially the rooms need to be updated. While our room had a bathtub, you needed to be under 4ft tall to use it. The towels were definitely the best we had on our 4 week trip in Spain and the room was kept very clean. There is a small tv with no English channels but there is free Wifi. Outside the temperature was around 10c or less, but we had to keep the window open and the heat turned off and we were still very warm. The breakfast was fairly good with a good choice of fruit, breads and cheese selection, coffee was also quite good. I would not rate the hotel a 4 but a solid 3.
My partner, our 4 months baby and I, stayed here for just one night. The room stank of cleaning products (like A LOT). The hotel is very dated and old and with the cot in the bedroom we barely could move. The hotel is not definitely like a 4 stars. Staff is pleasant and breakfast was nice and with a variety of food. We wouldnt stay here again i am afraid.
I read some reviews on this hotel before and how wrong they were. Close to metro, train station, friendly staff and very clean rooms. Not 4* as I would expect in UK, but it had what we needed for a short break. rooms cleaned upon request, fresh towels, 24 hour reception and close to metro station (3 min walk). We paid 200 euros for the room for 3 nights and it was worth every penny. Highly recommend!
