Check in was efficient and friendly. We arrived early and was no problem to store our luggage while we visited the city. Our room was very clean. The only negative was the noise sometimes in the night from other guests but that did not detract too much from our stay. Excellent location
We had a 4 night stay at hotel Gotico. We arrived late at night to a fast check in with no problems. We stayed in a room on the back of the hotel which was very quiet. You can hear the church bell ring every so often but this didn’t bother us. The room was very clean, with fresh towels, a tv, safe, fridge, shower, bath tub, hair dryer & a little desk with chair. The location is brilliant! It’s situated in the gothic quarter. Down the street is Las Ramblas, with lots of shops, bars, pubs & restaurants. There’s a metro station right next to the hotel also. The staff were lovely! Especially a young man called Joan. He was so polite & friendly & really went out of this way to be helpful. There was another young man who worked reception in the morning, he was great too (unfortunately, I can’t remember his name). I never had breakfast at the hotel so I can’t comment on the food. If I ever return to Barcelona I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! Thanks for a great stay.
Very close to metro station and La Ramblas. On a busy little street but mainly pedestrians, very little traffic. Hotel is very clean and rooms were spacious enough for the monies paid. We had a room overlooking the street and the facilities were fine. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, it was included in our room rate so very good value. Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend and would definitely use again when we return to Barcelona.
We enjoyed our stay here. Very convenient location. close to metro. There is a very pleasant sun deck on the fifth (top) floor. And a lovely lounge on the mezzanine. Breakfast room on the ground floor was very pleasant. Food was good and got us off to a good start each day. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I would be happy to stay here again. Very nice to have an elevator to get our bags to and from the fifth floor!
I booked this hotel based on it's location - Gothic Quarter, opposite the metro, right by the cathedral, loads of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby - and it couldn't have been in a better place for me! I caught the aerobus, then the metro, from the airport, and arrived within forty minutes costing €7. The staff were super lovely on arrival, I was told that my room wasn't ready, but they took my case and gave me all the relevant info so I could just pop back and grab my key card later on. Whilst in the atrium letting people know I'd arrived, they came over to let me know my room would be ready in ten minutes, which was fab! The room was smaller than the photos on their website, but I got a really good deal and the room was still spacious enough, spotless, and really comfortable, so I was more than happy! The location meant I could get everywhere in Barcelona really easily - Las Ramblas, Barceloneta and Placa Catalunya were all within a 10-15 minutes wander, I walked to Casa Battlo and La Padrera quite comfortably, and La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell were only one change and a few stops away on the metro. There's loads of places to eat and drink in every price range just a stones throw away too! When checking out, the staff took my case in until the evening without me even asking, which was very much appreciated, and were friendly and helpful at every opportunity - I'd highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again!
This hotel is located right opposite a Metro Station and is only a short walk to La Rambla and the Barcelona Cathedral. The staff were friendly, spoke very good English and were helpful. We had requested a double bed but on arrival were told the only room with a double bed is small and if we preferred, a larger room with twin beds was available. The staff were flexible with our request to change rooms.Beds were comfortable and the pillows were plump but the blankets provided were itchy. There was a bit of a musky smell from the 5th floor, this may have been due to the solarium but cant be certain. The lift service is slow and the space in the lift is a bit of squeeze. The rooms do not have tea/coffee making facilities and there is no mini-bar. However a small working fridge was available. The rooms had safes, but these required a key from reception in order to use them. They were not the standard electronic code types that are typically seen in 4* hotels. Overall a nice located hotel perfect to use to explore a lovely city.
My daughter and I are checking out tomorrow after a great 6 night stay. Check in was easy and a room was available early. We are on the back side of the hotel which is relatively quiet. There is a church bell that rings every 15 minutes. The hotel is newly updated and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds are slightly hard. The hotel does not have many amenities except for breakfast. no bar/gym/printers, etc. The front desk was very nice and gave me directions and suggestions many times. I would stay here again. .THe hotel is very close to the metro and great places to eat or drink. There does needs to be more space for clothes..no drawers. overall great place for value.
We booked a double room with hotels.com but were only given a twin. The room had no window to the outside world, only to an inner section of the same building. The walls were so thin we could hear everything going on next door. There was no mini bar either... I'm not really sure how it can be classed as a 4 star... Location is great and the price was good too... but aside from that, we were disappointed in our stay.
First time visiting Barcelona and we LOVED this hotel. We arrived before check-in, and the hotel staff did their best to get us in our room ASAP, which was amazing after a long day of travel. The room was spacious enough, and in the bathroom the hotel provides great travel size toiletries if you've forgotten anything. Housekeeping was on point, and I didn't feel the need to use the safe. The breakfast buffet was awesome for us! Same choices every day, but had a good variety of meats, eggs, fruits, juices, breads/muffins, cereal and even different coffee. The location of this hotel is the BEST and we walked to everything. I will definitely stay here again!!!
Hotel Gotico is in a great location and I would say the rooms are 4 Star. The service on the other hand has been absolutely terrible. The moment that my fiancé and I walked in the door they were not friendly (not even a smile or hello, they just asked us for our passports etc). And they did not offer to help with our luggage (and I am quite pregnant!). Our second day we have been out touring from 9am-4pm (with a requested card on our door to clean our room). When we got back (7 hours later!) no one had touched it, and to top that there was a random man on our balcony working which felt like a huge invasion of privacy (would have been considerate to at least notify us). I talked to the front desk (the same unfriendly employee from when we checked in...) about the lack of cleaning and worker. He was completely dismissive of me and my concerns and offered no help other than to tell me I should take it upon myself to tell the front desk tomorrow that we want our room cleaned. WOW. Very disappointed with my experience here - Never have I experienced worse customer service...much less at a “4 Star” hotel (and I have been to a lot of hotels!!!). This is the first bad review I’ve ever left. Both my fiancé and I are very friendly and courteous Canadian travellers - and we have both been surprised and completely put off by this hotel.
