We used our Marriott Reward Points for our four night stay. The location of the Hotel within 10minute walk to Sants L4 or Placa de Sants L1 Metro Stations was good for our visit, as we like to travel like the locals when we are not coming to a hotel or catching flight, in either case with luggage. We were warmly greeted by Monica and her trainee, both very pleasant receptionist with very good English. As a Platinum Member, I think we were upgraded to a quite long corner room on the top 4th Floor. The room was very clean and modern. The kingbed was large and very comfortable. There was a small complimentary bottle of water each day in our room. We also like the two long flip down windows which lets in outside air when we want to brighten or freshen the room. We enjoyed our stay, but we felt a number of improvements would make the stay excellent. First thing we noticed was the two curtains had a number of slits, and the slits could easily spread when drawing or open the curtains, as they catch on the big window latches. The problem is each morning, the sun would shine directly onto the pillow area of the bed. Room lighting was with low voltage Quartz Halogen spot lights, which only lit up the area just below the light fitting. My wife hates these lamps as "it cast shadows on her face when she tries to do her Make-up each morning. The steam iron in the room was basically pumping out brown water and brown steam. We asked reception for a better iron, and the replacement offered was even worst. One of the receptionist then suggested we should use water with the STEAM iron and it should be ok The shower cubical has black glass and black glass wall- it was like showering in the dark. And we tried to re-use our towels, but there was only one hook to hang our towels. So only one towel could be reuse each day. The TV only had one English Channel BBC, not a real issue, as we were only in our room for shower and sleep. Breakfast buffet, was not expensive or inexpensive, and the food quality and variety provided was very good.
While this hotel isn't in the touristy sections, it is almost better as it is so centrally located next to the train station (which is on the metro too). You can easily get everywhere. Nothing fancy in this hotel but shower was fantastic and comfy mattress. great restaurants nearby including Zarutz and even the he burger place next door. We didn't eat in the hotel but did have drinks every evening - nice bartenders recommended great Spanish wines.
Room was not very large but it has all you need. I was in the first floor and you could hear the train or metro from the room. The hotel is next to the train station and close to several metro stations. The breakfast was ok but nothing special. Very limited. I was in Barcelona for businees (MWC) and the price of the room was extremelly high for the quality and other services you get. The staff is the best of the hotel, very helpful. They prepared for me a very nice capuccino in the morning even tough it was not in the brakfast general offering. Close to the hotel is a very nice plaza with good tapas bars.
I used this hotel last week for a few nights. The hotel is very close to the train station which is great apart from the noise! The rooms are not very sound proofed and if you are a light sleeper I would not recommend. The rooms are modern and have a good selection of toiletries etc. They could do with a bit of maintenance as there was chips and dents in Furniture. The TV was huge and if you are Spanish there is a lot of channels. However there are no international channels. Also they need to fix the blue lights on the TV as they light up the room in the night!! The breakfast was great with a traditional Spanish selection. The staff numbers were sparse and this was noticeable in the evenings. Overall a reasonable stay but with some areas to improve.
Stayed here for 3 nights as part of work trip. Hotel only a 10 minute walk from the office so really handy. Rooms nice and clean. Had room opposite the elevator but this didn't cause a problem with noise. Rooms were really warm and you can't control the thermostat which was the only downside of the stay. Couldn't open window as noise from road outside too much. Couldn't really hear the traffic with window closed which was great. Only thing missing from the room was tea making facilities. Walked into city centre one night which is quite far but all flat so was a pleasant walk to be honest, lots to see on the way! Train station right across from the hotel is really handy, has a few shops if you need any snacks, toiletries. Food in the hotel was good, nothing special but enough to keep you going.
Stayed on a business trip. Nice room (once I had worked out light switches), good bar for coffee and updating our presentaion with my colleagues. Excellent breakfast. Really helpful staff. Only issue was noise from the door to the stairs which was very loud. My room was just opposite the stair entrance which probably made it worse. Oh, and the golf ball shaped soap wouldn't stay still on the work top. Really good value for money
It is a small hotel but very clean with good service. The layout of the room is a little weird. The bathroom lacked doors except the wash closet. The rooms are a little on the small side. It is located right next to the train station. It is not in the middle of the city but a $10 cab ride too all the attractions. Could not really control the thermostat and it was really warm and had to sleep with the windows open in the middle of winter. Platinum marriott members, they do not provide free breakfast. The breakfast staff was not too friendly and there were small bugs flying around the cold cuts. The revolving doors were broken for my entire stay, hotels would normal take care of that within a day. There is a very nice outdoor restaurant right next to the hotel with good food and great prices. Walk a little farther down there is a small market. Also, mcdonalds is visible and a quick 3 minute walk if you miss home...
I stayed here as I accidentally booked it instead of the other AC hotel in Barcelona near the Olympic Park however as this one is next to the train station it was perfect! I stayed for The Cure concert in the Olympic Park and to take in a few of the sights in November. The hotel was quiet, pleasant and the staff were friendly. Would stay again due to the location - away from the centre but near to transport!
This is a Marriott so I came with certain expectations, so probably my review will sound a tad harsh. I recommend the AC Barcelona Sants if you have to catch an early Train (or early flight via a train) from the Barcelona Sants station. The location is right next to the Barcelona Sants Train station (~600m), the rooms are fairly spacious, and quite clean... and that's about it. This not a place you stay for fun and take in the local culture, this is a utility. If you're in Barca for business, stay here, if you're here for fun, find another hotel.
I had to catch a 6am train so this was a perfect location to make sure I was on time. The room has quiet, clean and modern. I slept well, the bed was firm and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful during my stay. The breakfast was good, offered a lot of variety. Overall good stay
