Pros: Front reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Close to railway station and two metro stations depending on which route you need. We had breakfast included and it was very varied with a good choice of hot and cold dishes. As all H10 hotels, it is very clean although bedrooms are quite small but perfectly adequate for a city break. CON. I wish we had been informed by the hotel of building work going on inside. We did not appreciate being woken up at 8am then 8.45 am the next morning by drilling and banging. I know work has to be done, and reception were apologetic, but it did spoil our peace especially as we were celebrating my husbands birthday. Yes we would stay here again as long as it was quiet.
Been there for 1 day, i booked a matrimonial bed and they gave me 2 single beds. After that i called the Reception for room change and got my room changed after 15 minutes. They offered a free cocktail for 2, i went to their Lobby Bar to order the cocktails but no staff was there, there was a call button for waiters but even after ringing no one came, then i went twice to Reception to asking the staff and they said they are coming, after 30 minutes waitress came to serve. Pathetic service, NOT recommended!
The room is large enough, clean, with excellent matress, ok bathroom, good protection againt trafic noise from the street outside. Breakefast is very good with limited capacity in a short period in the morning. The lunches are also of high quality. The meeting room is the weakest part of the hotel - too long in shape with bad accustics and ditto ventilation.
We stayed in hotel 1 night because of rail travel disruptions. Hotel is 400 metres from Barcelona Sants. Staff is really helpful and rooms are spacious and spotless with tea/coffee making facilities. Easy connections to town and within a walking distance to the Barcelona art museum.
We were at the Itaca hotel Sept/Oct. Rooms lovely and clean. Great choices for breakfast. Staff lovely and friendly. Nothing was too much for them. Even on a strike day they still managed to deal with all guests easily and efficiently. Fantastic location for transport. Would highly recommend this hotel and if we go back would definitely stay here again. Thank you to all the staff for helping make our break a memorable one. Also all the catalonian/Spanish people we met on the various trips or walks we went on were just as lovely and helpful.
The hotel looks nice but they do have thieves so keep your valuables close and locked up. The staff is not helpful at all!! I had just checked in and went to the breakfast area sat my food and bag down for three seconds just to walk and grab a cup and turned around it was gone. I asked the hotel to check the cameras well they don't have access unless the manager is there. The hotel staff refused to help out or take my information down if the bag ever came up or just to go and check the back inside the staff area. The reception told me that it is impossible for staff to have taken the bag. When I asked the three ladies in the breakfast area to help they all act like they never seen me wearing a huge black backpack. They denied to help and acted as if they did not see anything mind you my table was right behind the staff area where you come in at. This experience was a nightmare and I personally would not stay there.
Room to the rear, generally quiet although one can hear the supermarket start early, if a problem please do not book a hotel over the supermarket or ask for a room at the front which has an interesting view (traffic) however a limited amount of traffic noise, which I feel is reasonable in a city centre hotel. breakfast was worth the money, super service and quality. Staff at hotel all excellent, only factor I felt was the splash pool was one of the shallowest I have ever seen, knee high . Reception staff were excellent and knowledgeable. Hotel perfect walking to the main station which we used for day trip to Sitges, well worth the day.
Th hotel has a lovely appearence when you first arrive. The reception is of a romantic time with bookshelves and leather armchairs. Staff very friendly and a welcome drink went down well. Terrace is a lovely area to sit and relax. The room was lovely the beds are very comfy. The bathroom is a bit of a let down we had a loose toilet which moved when seated. Shower over the bath is extremely small it would have been better removed and a walk in shower installed. The entrance and exit to the shower is extremely tight with no hand rails hence I slipped and bruised my arm as the picture is show. We did not have breakfast as it was 15 euro per head! So we ate out .don't think I would stay here again .
Nicely appointed hotel but sadly the 'plunge pool' is no more than a paddling pool and less than 2 feet deep. The other issue is noise. We got a room away from the road noise but still found that the windows did not provide much insulation from the general noise of the city. The corridors are form over function which means conversations can be heard and the closing of doors The staff are friendly but this does not compensate for the other points above.
Just returned from our 5day visit to Barcelona and had a very good holiday. The hotel is in s very good location if you plan to use public transport and it's very easy to get from the airport via the metro you just change to line 5 in collblanc then sants station is just a few stops away , the hotel is just a few mins walk up the road make sure you head past the torre cataluyna hotel that way you know you have exited out of the right side of the station. The staff are all really helpful and friendly the rooms although small have everything you need with excellent choice of toiletries. We loved the nespresso machine it was great waking up to a good strong shot of coffee. The breakfast had very good choice of pastries, juices, cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, cereal and fruit, there is a small selection of cooked breakfast but it wasn't really to our taste as the food was never kept hot enough. The pool and pool bar was a great place to relax late afternoon after a full day of sight seeing and we were very lucky with the weather so was able to use the pool. If you are use the metro for getting around we found it easier using the tarragona station it much quieter than Sants. We had the hola BCN ticket and this got us everywhere including to and from airport. Would recommend and return to this hotel.
