We were on a 7-state road trip across New England and this was one of our home base rooms for our visit in Maine. We got lost as we didn't know the difference between Bar Harbor and NE Harbor but after a quick call to the owner, we were on the road and there in no time. We were so glad because Bar Harbor was so crowded and busy with so much going on. The secluded area was just ideal. There are various rooms at these suites. Our room was nothing like the pictures above but it was perfectly adequate for us. Would have been nice to have one with a sink by the coffee service. We had a small sitting area with a coffee service and refrigerator and tv and then another tv in the bedroom area but we had a lot of trouble figuring out how to use the tv. Very confusing for us. We had adequate towels and amenities but the bed and pillows we had were extremely hard. Maybe others would find it okay but it was too much for us. This was a good home base for 3 nights. The owner was very communicative and very helpful since we arrived late. It was confusing because we picked up our key from the bakery downstairs and we had to carry our luggage up a long flight of stairs. The best part about this place is the restaurant below. We were given tickets for a set breakfast the mornings we were there except for the last one since the restaurant was closing down for the winter season and only open at lunch. Good thing we weren't staying longer. It was a perk to have this choice since the town seems to shut down and there wasn't a lot available to chose from when we arrived back after our long days of exploring. We never spent much time in the town so we can't offer up suggestions but we did pick up rolls and donuts at the bakery for the next morning to begin our long drive. There is a laundry service available for guests and they have a very set cleaning time available if you want to take advantage of it. We did one day but there wasn't the typical service you would expect including making beds, etc. Maybe just the addition of a towel or two. We id leave a note to get more coffee for the following morning. We opted out of the service the next two days.

Basically it’s 6 apartments over a Bakery and Restaurant...Bot oh it’s so much more. Breakfast is Served to all guests till 11:00 Not a B&B Breakfast Not a Buffet Breakfast A Full Breakfast menu with your choice of anything Every Day Close to all parts of Acadia Park...highly recommend the Carriage trails on foot or Bike. The room is Quite spacious and even has Air conditioning...never needed it. Kept the windows open and it was delightful. Kitchenette is nicely equipped If you want Action Bar Harbor is 10 minutes away...if you want Lobsters you must try Beals in Southwest Harbor 15 minutes away The staff are helpful...Great Breakfast and great restaurant....and they have a Bar

Our family stayed here for one night prior to going to Bar Harbor, ME for the remainder of our vacation. We found the hotel to be really nice and comfortable which was located above the Colone's bakery and restaurant. The hotel has only 5 suites to book. We booked a 1 king bedroom suite with a separate living room area with pull out sofa bed. This was comfortable for us. The room was also very clean as well. The room had a small refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and sink. The bathroom was really nice as well with a beautiful dresser at the mirror with a sink. There were an ample supply of free soaps, lotions, shampoo that were provided as well. Shower pressure was really good as well. There is free-wifi but you need the password to access it. There is a book in each room with important information for your stay. There is even a book int he room where you can write your impressions and comments about your stay as well. We of course left some nice comments about our stay here. Guests are provided complimentary tickets for breakfast in the morning at the Colonel's restaurant downstairs. We needed some additional blankets and pillows the owner of the hotel and restaurant hand delivered them to us. It was wonderful service which we appreciated. As a FYI, guests check into the hotel at the bakery downstairs. There is a separate flight of stairs to the second floor where the 5 suites are located. There is street parking in front of the restaurant but it is limited to 2 hours during busy months of July and August where you could get a parking ticket of $ 20 if parked for longer than 2 hours. There is a parking lot behind the hotel where I recommend you park int he summer months of July and August to avoid being ticketed. Downtown Northeast Harbor is small with several shops and restaurants and limited parking. We enjoyed our stay here and would visit again. I definitely recommend this hotel.

It's hard to describe - perhaps a blanket of minor details - but this unit gave the impression of semi-rustic luxury. In room frig & microwave, reasonably-priced washer & dryer in hall, separate bedroom, quality linens. Given the typical destination accommodation prices, the cost was very reasonable. It includes breakfast, which is pedestrian, but much better than the usual coffee & donuts. I have some handicaps & negotiating the 15 - 20 stairs to climb to the 2nd floor posed a minor challenge, but worth it in terms of the delightful accommodations.

A real home away from home, located on the Main in Northeast Harbor. We stayed two nights in what is a very off-season mid-April. There are six spacious suites, and we had the place more or less to ourselves. Clean accommodation, comfortable furniture, and a warm welcome. The only item missing was a toaster. I wish that the bakery had been open for breakfast (nearest open restaurant was in Bar Harbor), but, as I said, we visited at a very quiet time of year.

Didn't expect it. Suites at the top bakery\restaurant at the bottom. I have never had to check-in at a bakery. Suites were spacious, updated and very comfortable with all amenities. Offered free breakfast which I have to say was excellent. The owners were very attentive and responsive. Very close (approx. 15 min - in Acadia that is close) to all that Acadia has to offer.

We needed time to disconnect from the crazy city and found myself with this wonderful place. Super clean ,spacious room on top a bakery :) how convenient, very private. Absolutely, Love , love the place. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, will be back next year for sure. The only downfall we needed to check out at 10:00, wish we could stay until 11:00 or noon.

Very nice accommodations in the quiet community of Northeast Harbor. Breakfasts were very good and wait staff friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. Quaint Main Street location with shops and small grocery nearby. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good. Be aware that there is no elevator, which was not a problem for us. Convenient location to Acadia, Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, etc while being away from the chaos.

We are on a 3 week vacation, and this is about the halfway point. I felt good about all my reservations except this one. I was pleasantly surprised when we got here. Nice sized bedroom, bathroom, and living room. 5 choices for complimentary breakfast. Everything is new. And a kitchenette.

This place is good for independent travelers as there is limited staffing for help. The 6 rooms are directly above the Colonel bakery and restaurant and you get your room key from the bakery staff after parking outside on the one way street fronting the main commercial drag. Upon exiting the bakery, you hang a left and opening the glass door around the corner, hauls yourself and your bags up the stairwell to the 2nd floor. You pass a coin operated washing machine and dryer (take note campers and families) and eventually come to,your room. Number 5 had a pullout sofa, flat screen tv , small refrigerator and Keurig machine with ceiling fan as soon as you opened the door, the good sized bathroom just a few steps away and the queen sized bed with another flat screen tv, closet, iron, ironing board and Two end tables with electric alarm clock and lights. Ceiling fan as well with the tall ceiling but the on the wall central system did the job fine. Bed was comfortable with adequate linens. One of ten breakfast options in the restaurant below was tasty and filled you up. Also had dinner there as well, a margarita pizza with thin crust, and it was sized to be filling for one or two. And you can get bakery goods to go to tide you over on your way to the next stop. Definitely would stay here again, away from the hordes at Bar Harbor. Good strong WiFi, password protected access.
